Regulus Black had always know he was into men. He never wanted to label his sexuality so he didn't. He hated how he fell in love with his brothers best friend. He would never have him, James was always in love with the fierce red head. He knew since the beginning of that crush that he'd get hurt and it wouldn't be the Potter boy's fault it'd be his.
"We'll be going after the Potters" Voldemort said to all the death-eaters.
And with those words Regulus whole body froze.
"Why?" Regulus asked
He was never scared of the dark lord. He was not going to call him my lord. He didn't have any lord. He was not going to call him that not even if it killed him.
"Why?" Voldemort questioned
"yes, why?" Regulus asked again
"I want their child dead and if they choose my side I'll let them live if not they die."
Regulus couldn't help but roll his eyes. It's their child of course they'll die for him. How'd Voldemort know though? According to Dumbledore -who he hated- said Harry was born they month after.
"Wasn't the kid born in August?" Regulus asked
"We have an insider, Wormtail!"
Seeing the rat looking man made his blood boil. They were going to die and it was going to be his fault. They trusted Pettigrew so much and he knew it was going to hurt the 'Maruders' including Evans.

Regulus walked outside the Potter's house on October 30. He knocked on the door with shaking hands, but quickly stopped them. The door opened to someone he did not want to see. His brother.
"Reg? What are you doing here?" Sirius asked
"I need to talk to Potter and Evans" Regulus said
"Why?"
"Its isn't any of your business. It's not like they're coming after you." Regulus glared
"What"
"Oh for the love of Salizar. I need to talk to them or you won't know shit." Regulus had very little patience for his so called brother.
"Fine" Sirius sighed annoyed, Regulus followed the raven haired boy into the kitchen. He saw James kissing both Lily's and Harry's head with a loving smile. It broke his heart but it wasn't the Potter boys fault right?
"What's he doing here?" Lily asked curiously she didn't sound rude at all just curious.
"He said he needed to tell you both something" Sirius said going to stand next to his boyfriend, Remus Lupin.
"I'm here because The Dark Lord is coming for you. And he knows where and how to get to you" Regulus said
"What?" Sirius asked
"Pettigrew your so called friend is the rat. They are coming for your child as well" Regulus told them
"No, no your wrong Pete would never" Lily shook her head
"I'm only warning you, if you don't want to believe me I don't give a shit but it's true. He's marked. They marked him today, so you could check." Regulus shrugged
"Why are you telling us?" James asked holding his son protectively.
"I might not be on good terms with my brother but I don't want him in Azkaban for the rest of his life" Regulus lied perfectly
"Why would Sirius go to Azkaban?" Remus asked
"Peter will blame Sirius, it's obvious." Regulus rolled his eyes
Lily went to hug him but he stopped her.
"No" he shook his head "I don't do hugs"
"Well your getting one" James said pulling him into a hug Lily with him. They both thanking him over and over again.
After all that Regulus couldn't help but smile. He might not have gotten James and even though he hates hugs. He enjoyed the one with James even though Lily was there. He never hated her, he couldn't she never did anything to make him hate her. She had what he wanted and it was her husband.
