So this one shot is inspired by the 1st fragman for episode 6. Ozan saves Esra from the falling light structure, and Esra sees Cagla and Ozan holding hands in the hospital.

If you haven't read my one-shots before, I usually base them on fragmans. They serve as a starting point for the short stories, but then I take it on a tangent, I don't attempt to predict what will happen on the show.

Esra wiped away at the tears that were streaming down her face as she sat beside Ozan in his hospital bed. He was asleep – the heavy medication still working in his body – but the doctor said he would make a full and quick recovery. She was also grateful that Musa hadn't informed his mother. She knew she wouldn't have been allowed to sit by his side, if that woman was here.

She never ever wanted him hurt, and she certainly never wanted to be the reason he was in harm's way. Ah Ozan, she sighed, gently running her fingers through his hair, before cupping his cheek, why did take such a risk?

Her heart filled in spite of itself. Surely it meant something that he had dashed unthinkingly to save her. Had she already accomplished her goal to make him fall in love with her? Had he never fallen out of love with her in the first place? The thought settled heavily inside her.

God knows she never meant to make him suffer. She had left to protect herself. Her body had shown her that she was doing too much, trying too hard to make the marriage work, and her baby had suffered for it. She would never forgive herself, and a part of her could never forgive him either.

There was no joy in her victory though. Maybe he was in love with her, or still cared about her, but what happened now? In truth, she also wanted him to acknowledge his role in the breakup but that would mean telling him what happened and she swore to herself that she never would. She shook her head trying to clear her thoughts, perhaps a cup of coffee would do her good. She squeezed his fingers, telling him that she would be right back, and he squeezed back. Even though she knew he couldn't hear her, it stirred something inside it.

She met Musa in the hallway, who said he was going to follow up with the doctor and would meet her in the room later.

Esra returned, her coffee cup in hand, and almost entered the room, when she saw Cagla and a now awake Ozan. Cagla had her hand against his cheek, and he was looking up at her adoringly.

"Look what happens when I leave you for a little while," Cagla joked, "Now I'm never leaving you."

Ozan took Cagla's hand from his cheek and held it in his. "Iyi ki varsin"

"Sen de iyi ki varsin," she replied.

Ezra didn't need to see her face, Cagla's voice told her everything she needed to know. She was in love with Ozan. And from the looks of it, he was definitely not averse to the notion.

A hitherto unknown emotion twisted a knot in her belly and clamped a vice around her heart. If she was being honest with herself, it felt a little bit like jealousy. That awareness shook her. That wasn't the plan! She'd never been in love with anyone! There had never been the need to be jealous. And yet, here she was fighting exactly that feeling!

She turned on her heels and left before they could see her. I guess he doesn't need me anymore, she thought, hurt and upset with him and herself.

She met Musa again as she rushed out the hospital. "Cagla Hanim is with him now," she said hurriedly by way of explanation, not waiting to hear what he said.

---------

Two days later Ozan was back in the office, despite protests from Cagla and Musa. He was more than a little miffed that he hadn't seen or heard from Esra since the accident. He had literally saved the woman's life - and for what? She hadn't so much as acknowledged his bravery.
