12. Dreams of golden future

Third person point of view

Ranvijay and rudrayani stood on dias. And both of their parents were adoring them. They almost look like a wedded couple with rudra's white gown and Ranvijay's tuxedo. Rajmata gayatridevi was now fully sure that Ranvijay and rudrayani were meant to be together. So she decided to talk to Rathore's.

Ranvijay's parents had already arranged a private room for this conversation.

"Pratap, what do you think rajmata gayatridevi will say?" Asked worried maharani vijaya.

Her worry for her son's happiness was evident on her face. She knew that her son was happy only with his rudra. She was really hoping that rudra stays with her son forever.

"Whatever it is vijaya, whether rudra's family accepts our proposal or not, we will respect that. And anyways rudra will always be a part of our family. " said maharaj pratap.

They were waiting for rudra's parents and her dadisa to join them.
And after a minute or two, sisodia family reached in that room. After they all were settled comfortably, rajmata gayatridevi broke the ice first, " well, maharaj pratap and maharani vijaya, I dont like beating around the Bush. So let me come to the direct point. "

Rajmata gayatridevi- " we all have raised our children to make them capable enough to carry forward our heritage and the honor of our families. And our kids; Ranvijay and rudrayani have always been worthy of being royal. Now I think they have found a true companion for themselves in each other. They come together like two pieces of a puzzle; so perfect together."

Rajmata gayatridevi huffed and continued, "maharaj pratap and maharani vijaya, I can say with all my years of experience that they really are made for each other. I think we should consider them as lifepartners for each other, for when they get old enough to handle the vows of marriage."

Ranvijay's parent remained stunned, and the room felt dead silent.

Rajmata gayatridevi got a bit uncomfortable at the silence.

she again said, "What I mean to say is, Ranvijay and rudrayani both can be friends till they grow up. And when they are old enough to decide what they want, we will show them that they are so perfect together. And if they feel the same way then we could bind them in the sacred bond of marriage.
But my heart says Ranvijay and rudrayani themselves will come to us telling us that they love eachother and want to get married. "

By this time Ranvijay's parents were having their eyes laden with tears.

Both of them had become emotional.
Now that made gayatridevi very concerned.

She said in her serious voice, " I can understand, if you dont feel the same way. If you dont think Ranvijay and rudrayani should be together in future; it's ok. I won't barge in this decision on you. We will respect your decision. "

Before rajmata gayatridevi and rudra's parents could get up and leave, maharani vijaya broke the prolonged silence, and said, "rajmata, it feels as if a sweet dream that my heart had wished for my son has come true. It's just that I had imagined this conversation so many times in my mind, that when it is actually happening I am just overjoyed. "

Now it was rudra's parent's who were stunned. The happy tears threatened to spill from their eyes.

Maharaj pratap took a step forward towards rajmata gayatridevi and maharaj ratan and with a deep and serious voice he said, "I, maharaj pratap Singh Rathore of jaigadh, wish to ask for princess rudrayani's hand in marriage for my son Ranvijay. "
With these words both the families smiled.

They all wanted the same thing, to see Ranvijay and rudrayani together.

Now that things were crystal clear, the previous tension was vanished.

After they really got along with each other, they started chitchatting.

Maharani komal smiled and said, " well, my rudra is so lucky to have Ranvijay in her life, who would always be there for her."

But other ways, maharani vijaya opposed her smiling, "but my Ranvijay is more fortunate to have met rudra.
He never had anyone to share his heart to.
And he really had a hard time becoming the perfect prince and a strong Yuvraj of jaigadh.
And rudra has returned my son's smile, she has brought peace in my boy's life.
And my prince is someone who doesn't really has many words. But now a days; when ever he has, even a word to say, it's about rudrayani and this makes him smile.

I am sure rudra has his heart."

This made maharani komal chuckle and maharaj ratan smile in satisfaction.

But maharaj pratap added, " but if my rudrayani grows up and finds no interest in marrying our Ranvijay, still she will be a major part of our Rathore family. Sorry my friend ratan but I choose rudra even before you . She has won her throne in our hearts. Rakshu is just fond of her. Sometimes I feel rakshu loves rudra just a bit more than she loves her dada Ranvijay."

With this, all the socially stiff and so called cold hearted royals shared their laughter.

Rajmata gayatridevi was having hard time concealing her happy tears. She just grabbed a tissue and started dabbing her tears from her wrinkled eyelids.

And she said, "I pray to god to keep our children always happy, always together. I wish that their friendship, companionship, their affection for each other grows deep and strong with all the coming years. And they really find love in each other as lifepartners."

Maharaj ratan cleared his throat and said smiling, "well it leaves me heartbroken that my only friend is giving first preference to someone else.
But who could have kept grudges against his own heart beat, his beloved daughter. " this line again made all of them to laugh.

After the small ripple of laugher subdued maharaj ratan said,

" In forthcoming days we have the official coronation ceremony for our princess rudrayani; to throne her as Yuvrani of devgiri riyasat.
And if royal family of Rathore's coheres with the decision I make, I would like to officially announce to riyasat of devgiri that Ranvijay and rudrayani will be the future suitor for each other. It will be announced that Ranvijay is fiancé of my princess rudra."

Maharaj pratap said, " of course my friend, it will keep the other problem creating people at bay."

Maharani komal, "And this announcesment will act as shield for our children from unnecessary media attention.
Being eachothers royal fiancé, will act in favor of our children. Ranvijay and rudrayani will never get the nasty ogling of society, royal circle and media about their deep love for each other."

So it was all decided. The royal families have decided to declare Ranvijay and rudrayani as fiancé. But the ultimate decision of whether they want to get married, would be taken by Ranvijay and rudrayani only when they really grow up as adults.

The royal families of Rathore's and sisodia's were all contented with the pure bliss as both families were having same dreams for their children.

And they were sure that affection that their children shared with each other will be like a beacon of light and hope for life long companionship for both the royal kingdoms.

They all were so delighted with their children and the bright future they wish for Ranvijay and rudrayani both. But there, they failed to foresee the impending danger.
