The mysteries surrounding the game were solved and the prime suspect, Hiyoko, cleared.

Mahiru and Hiyoko were planning to meet up, but the murderer had eavesdropped and sent fake letters to both to change the time of meet-ups. When Hiyoko arrived at the beach house according to the letter at 2:00 pm, the killer had drugged her unconscious and put her inside the closet. When Mahiru arrived at 2:30 pm, the killer struck her from behind, immediately killing her. Then, they dragged the body to block one of the doors, creating the crime scene.

To wash off the blood splatter, since the shower room didn't work, they used the plastic water bottles to wash it off. They waited for Hiyoko to wake up and when she did, she quickly ran out of the beach house upon seeing the corpse, leaving footprints on the sand as extra evidence to frame her.

To leave, they went through the high window, using their shinai as a stepping stool, then met up with the others for the beach party. However, since there were no towels to dry them off, they had to come up with an excuse that they had been swimming.

With that, the culprit was...

Pekoyama Peko.

She admitted to the crime after all the evidence pointed to her.

She gave in awfully quickly...

Suddenly, near the end, when asked about her motive, she revealed herself, donning the same mask from the crime scene.

"Justice complete!" she announced, putting her hands on her hips. "The center of justice that is pierced by justice! The lead star of justice that shines in the night sky! That's would be me... Sparkling Justice!"

It was as if her personality had completely changed.

Sparkling Justice was the name of the serial killer Sonia-san talked about, right?

The votes were quickly placed, but then...

"Pardon me! Can we please have a little more time?" Sonia asked. "Please let us continue our discussion."

"Continue our discussion?" Kazuichi said. "But isn't the voting over?"

"Y-Yes, but... I cannot help but feel strange... Something about this is definitely strange... Pekoyama-san is the killer... without a doubt... but still..."

"As a serial killer enthusiast, you're wondering if Pekoyama-san is really Sparkling Justice, am I right?" Nagito asked.

Several people were shocked.

That's right... We forgot about one important detail.

"Honestly, it felt strange to me too," Nagito continued. "I mean... there's a distinct difference between what we know about Sparkling Justice and Pekoyama-san, right? When Sonia-san described it..."

The catchphrase Sonia had quoted was translated from an interview she read in a magazine.

"If she had to translate it..." Hajime said. "That means it wasn't originally in Japanese, right?"

"Yes!" Sonia replied. "The magazine I read was written in Spanish! So... Sparkling Justice's catchphrase was no doubt written in Spanish as well. Which means the journalist... and Sparkling Justice... are both...!"

"...From Spain?!" Nekomaru yelled.

"Pekoyama..." Hajime said. "There's no way you're Sparkling Justice!"

She was silent.

"Or... If you insist you're Sparkling Justice, can you say that catchphrase in Spanish?" Chiaki asked.
