The sudden swaying from side to side was evidently felt on the ship.

Three people were in a compartment. Two unconscious, one awake. The one who was awake was intently listening to the intense shaking of the room.

A strong sway, then a weak sway, then another strong sway...

Suddenly, he sensed something, his eyes looking up. The girl, whose eyes were closed, was slowly opening them. She was up against one of the walls.

...

He knew fully well who she was. That girl's name... was Hirata Katsumi.

"Hm...?" she mumbled weakly.

When her eyes fully opened, she looked up at the person staring at her. Instead of looking surprised, her expression remained the same.

"Hm...? Who are you?" she asked, though her tone of voice didn't sound normal.

She put her hand up to her head in a look of confusion. The person continuously stared at her, silent, his eyes seemingly piercing into hers.

"You're wondering if I seem familiar, correct?" the person spoke up, his voice monotonous.

"Huh?"

"...How boring."

Hirata Katsumi looked at him with an odd gaze. "...Care to elaborate?"

He stayed silent.

At least you performed adequately.

"Oh... so you're not the type for conversation, are you?" she said. "...That's fine to me. I wasn't that excited to talk anyway."

She stared at the floor, her back leaning against the wall. A few moments of silence passed.

"Which one are you right now?" the person asked.

Her eyes widened in shock. "Y-You... know that?"

"...Both are aware, correct?"

She looked at him for a second, before answering, "If... you're aware of that, then I guess I don't need any introductions..." she sighed. "...That's right. At least right now, I'm not... her. Of course, she's still listening. I can hear her even now."

Those words were filled with hatred.

"I see..."

The condition changed.

And of course, he could detect a rotten, depraved air from her, though faint and suppressed, like it could spring forward at any second.

All of a sudden, he saw her start to silently mutter to herself as her head was facing the floor while covering her face.

"Stop it stop it stop it stop it..." Her voice was barely audible, but he could faintly the desperation and anger in her voice. "I never said I wanted to use my talent for any of this. You killed all those people... all I could do was watch. I couldn't do anything... Biological weapons... You make me sick..."

A few seconds later, she had seemed to have gone back to normal.

"Biology..." he muttered. "I almost forgot..."

"Huh?"

"Your talent... correct?"

She was silent, but he knew he was right.
