Chapter 13: New language

I was sitting next to my brother in the library reading a book, while he's studying a new languange. I honestly don't know the language that he was forced to study but oh well, at least I'm not the one doing that. Suddenly James whined and looked at me.

James: this is hard! I can't even master the basics.

I raised an eyebrow at him.

You: what language are you learning?

He sighed and hit his head with the book.

James: Tagalog.

He said having a hard time pronouncing the word. I giggled and looked back at my book.

You: well, good luck with that.

He sighed and tried to learn the basics of tagalog, i don't know how in the world did we get a book from another country but, oh well. But i didn't tell James that i was fluent in Tagalog.

He looked at me strangely.

I giggled and closed my book and saw on the clock that it was already 4 PM.

We arrived and i went to Levi's office, knowing he has the original key to his office, but he wasn't in here. I'm guessing he's at the mess hall, James was still trailing behind me giving me puppy eyes. I arrived at the mess hall and saw Levi and the others talking. I went to them and sat down next to Levi, while James sat infront of me.

You: Hey guys.

They all smiled and said their greetings, Levi pecked my forehead and interwined our hands underneath the table.

James: Y/N, pleasee tell me what language did you speak back at the castle.

They looked at me shocked. Levi raised and eyebrow and said.

Levi: you know how to speak a different language, Love?

I nodded and smiled. I looked at James and grinned.

You: Hindi ko sasabihin. (I wont tell)

James groaned while everyone looked amazed.

Erwin: i didn't knew you could speak another language Y/N.

I giggled and laid my head on Levi's shoulder.

Hange: can i ask what language is that?

She stated trying her best not to yell. I sighed, but nodded. James looked up with curiosity in his eyes and waited patiently for my answer.

You: Tagalog.

Hange and the others nodded. James started to whine once again making me laugh.

James: why didn't you tell me you were fluent?! And you didn't even try to help me to master the basics. I hate you.

I kept on laughing.

You: S-sorry. But i want you to learn it on your own, if you knew that i was fluent you would only rely it all to me.

He sighed and nodded.

James: i guess you're right, but can you tell me that basics?

I nodded.

You: good morning in Tagalog is magandang umaga, while good night in Tagalog is magandang gabi, beautiful in Tagalog is maganda, tasty(bread charutz) in tagalog is masarap.

He nodded.

James: and what is the Tagalog of apple?

You: mansanas.

James: gold?

You: Ginto.

James: book?

You: libro.

He nodded and smiled.

James: one final thing, how do you say i love you in Tagalog.

I smiled and looked at me and Levi' interwined hands.

You: Mahal kita.

James nodded and smiled.

James: thanks for the help little sis.

I looked at him and smiled.

You: Anytime, pero sa susunod gamitin mo yung utak mo, wag palaging ako.
(But next time use your brain, don't always rely on me).

They looked at me confused.

James: speaking of Tagalog, what did you say back at the palace.

I cheekily smiled at him.

You: it's really easy if you have a brain.

He rolled his eyes at me.

He looked at me confused.

He nodded and smiled.

I nodded and waved everyone goodbye. We arrived at his office and sat down while he laid his head on my lap.

Levi: Je ne saivas pas que tu pouvais parler une autrue langue, mon amour.
