Chapter 7: The Confrontation

Paige:

That evening I was at the library cafe reading Fallen when two shadows loom over me.

"Hello Lyndon, Maz, what up?"

They both sit down, leaning down to look at me as I continue to read.

"Is it true?" Maz asks.

"What?" I say innocently, Lyndon glares at me.

"Drop the act Pay. About Andre, are you going to Homecoming with him?"

I grin and say,"Maybe..."

Maz gasps,"You are!"

She rushes over to me and I flinch expecting her to hit me for going with someone I barley know.

Instead she gives me a hug bouncing excitedly.

"She's a girl, Lyndon, Pagy's a girl!"

Lyndon chuckles,"I pretty sure I already knew that Mazzy."

Maz smacks the back of his head,"You know what I mean. She's actually going to a dance, with a boy, and with a dress!"

She continues to dance around excitedly while Lyndon just laughs.

I grin, happy Lyndon has gotten over what had happened between Andre and him.

"Hey Paige."

I jump and hear a chuckle behind me.

"You scared me Andre." I say laughing.

Maz looks at me and mouths,"Proud of you." Lyndon is still smiling but something changed in him when Andre came over that I just don't understand.

I choose to ignore it and ask Andre,"So how was your day?"

He grins,"Better now that I'm with you."

"Awe!" Maz says loudly before she can stop herself.

Realizing what she has said she said she slaps her hand over he mouth, as her face gets almost as red as her hair.

We all laugh, Andre casually puts an arm around my shoulders.

Maz gives me a thumbs up.

Lyndon seems to have developed a sudden interest in his shoes.

Andre says he's going to go grab a coffee and walks over to the counter.

"He is so perfect!" Maz says,shaking me excitedly,"I am so proud of you Pay!"

Lyndon laughs quietly, shaking his head.

Maz kicks him in the shin,"And what's up with you Mr. Antisocial? What do you have against Andre?"

He raises an eyebrow at her.

She glares at him,"You're still not over that? Get over what Andre said about y-...Anderson."

Lyndon's eyes widen slightly and he kicks Maz, who in turn kicks him...elsewhere.

"Did you miss me?" Andre says setting down his coffee and handing me a hot chocolate. I smile at him and look over at Maz who holds up her index finger.

We were going to discuss this later.
