Kensi had two nightmares though out the night and only one was so bad it left deeks in tears because he felt so bad and couldn't calm her down.
It was about 8am when they both woke up. Kensi sat up her eyes red and puffy from crying "good morning" Deeks said quietly brushing her hair out of her face "morning" she replied leaning back on the couch and wincing from the pain "do you want another smoothy" Deeks asked looking at her " I'm ok I think I'm gonna take a shower" she went to stand up and deeks grabbed her hand "here I'll tell you what, you take a shower, put on some warm clothes and we will go to that favorite coffee shop of yours and get you something small then go sit at the beach for a little while" he stood up next to her and took both her hands "come on kens getting out of the house will be good for you" he looked at her and lifted her chin "ok" she whispered pulling away from him and walking to the bedroom
After they were both dressed deeks grabbed his keys and looked at kensi " you good?" he asked her "let's go" he tried to smile and walked with him out the door
They look a seat by the window at the coffee shop and sat in silence for a minute looking at the menu "what are you getting kens" he folded his menu and set it to the side "um I think I'm just going to get a smoothy" she folded her menu shut and placed it on top of his "what mine at home weren't good enough for you" he smiled and managed to get a small giggle out of her just before he could say anything to her about it the waiter came to take their orders
After they finished with their smoothies deeks suggested they go before the lunch rush comes in so they left for the beach
They walked side by side shoes in hand and sand between their toes. When they got far enough down the beach, close enough to the water, deeks plopped down and patted the spot next to him for kensi to sit. She sat next to him trying not to let her pain show, but he noticed it and sat up "kens you need to tell me when something hurts, don't try and hide it from me" she looked down trying to fight back the tears she knew were in her eyes and before she knew it her tears were dripping on the sand "kens" he whispered and placed his hand under her chin so she was looking right at him "I'm here for you kens" he whispered "I know" she replied still crying deeks leaned close to her and kissed her as gently on the lips as he could and when he pulled away her eyes were still closed to he tried to read her face but had no luck. When she finally opened her eyes the tears had stopped and she just looked at him. All the sadness he saw in her eyes broke his heart, he pulled her close to him being careful and laid down with her just watching the ocean.
