Something I Wanted

Kayli's POV

I couldn't help but stare at it. Upon that ordinary sheet of notebook paper was a drawing of the night sky. There was a lake with ice on the edges and a purple and black bruised sky above with stars sprinkled across. Some stars were bright, and some were dim, but the brightest were those that spelled out my name. The colours of those balls of light seemed to twinkle upon the paper. I folded the paper up and felt my face heat up as I went down the stairs.

I got home and ran to my room to get in my computer. I quickly did a sketch of Austin and I as cats, and decided to spend the rest of my night recording it, hoping with all of my heart he'd see it today.

Mint's POV

'Kayli?! Why aren't you talking to meeee?' I texted the be speckled girl as I sat in my room. Getting no answer, I set my iPod on my bed and wandered upstairs. I say down at the table with my sketchbook and pencil, sketching out a picture of Greg. Tilting my head to the side and smiling a little at my work, I set down my pencil and went to make myself a strawberry banana smoothie. Grabbing a straw, I sat down once more at the dark oak table with my frozen beverage, looking down at the drawing. It didn't do him justice.

"GIVE IT BACK!" I screamed at my brother, chasing him throughout the house to relieve his grasp upon my sketch pad. As he sprinted, as sheet of paper fell out. It was probably wheat Kami put in there before she left. Stopping to pick it up, I found a picture of Greg blushing, staring at the ground while a particularly mischievous looking Kayli talked to him. Wow, okay. That's...interesting. I wonder what that's all about. I put the apart in my room and proceeded to look for my brother, ready to resort to force if necessary.

Austin's POV

I logged into YouTube and found that Kayli had posted another picture. Clicking on it, I saw her thanks in the description. I smiled to myself as I watched the video. It was us, laughing about something or other. I shook my head in awe. How does she do it? My eyes lingered on the finished picture, and I couldn't help but smile again. Wow. I went to my bed to lie down before my phone dinged. I picked it up and saw that I actually got a snapchat from her. I opened it and smiled when I saw her smiling at the camera, asking my if I'd seen the video. I sent her back my yes, chuckling as I put my phone back down, before picking it up as it rang once more. 'So how are you?' She texted me. I didn't know if I was going to regret what I was about to send her back, but I knew that it was definitely something I wanted to do anyway. And, the thought of her answer never bothered me until after I hit send.

Greg's POV

Kayli totally figured out I liked her. Well, it's safe to say I'm screwed. She wouldn't tell Mint...right? Would she? I don't even know this girl, and she knows something that I had never told anyone just by talking to me. Nice going, stupid. Now she'd find out and now she would never talk to me again. GREAT. Exactly what I needed. I sighed as I slammed the door to my bedroom. Throwing on some tennis shoes, I went outside and kicked a ball around to get out my concern. The movement helped me think clearly. I guess I'd just have to find out if she told. Though I had a clear idea of what I could do, no amount of exercise could get rid of my rapidly growing fear of tomorrow.
