Santa tell me

AS CATALINA WOKE UP SHE REALIZED SHE WAS IN the Parker living room. Kai was sitting close by with a book in his hand, probably a grimoire to be more specific. She quickly sat up but, her whole body felt weak, and drained. Then, the memory of him taking all her power raced back into her mind.

"Kai?" she rubbed her forehead and looked around the room.

"Finally, you're awake." the Parker man sighed. "You've been asleep for days."

"What?" Catalina quickly jumped up to her feet, feeling frantic that so much time had come by.

"Yeah, I was starting to get like, really bored." he set his book down and stood up. "I think I was starting to miss you too, weirdly."

"You are the biggest asshole in the universe." Cat stood up and grabbed him by the throat, raising him slightly. "If you ever do that to me again, I will fucking kill you."

"Let me-.." Kai began to gasp for air. "Let me down."

After she set him down, the Parker witch caught his breath and stood up straight.

"If you would've let me finish I would've told you why I did it." He explained but, Cat wasn't having it. She couldn't keep forgiving everything he does, not as quickly as usual anyways.

"You are insane." the Santos girl shouted before sighting and walking out of the house quickly.

"Wait!" Kai called out after her.

Catalina kept walking, it was outrageous that he thought he could just get away with something like that and then just go back to normal. He ruined a good thing and he was going to pay the consequences. Whether he liked it or not.

"Cat, it's christmas!" The Parker man yelled after her, in hopes of getting her to stop in her tracks.

"You are lying." the Santos girl said in a sing song voice as she stopped walking, lightly rolling her eyes at the comment.

Honestly, she hadn't been keeping track of the days since she got there so, it could have very well been Christmas.

"I'm not lying I even got one of those ugly Christmas sweaters you said you like." Kai said as he leaned on the doorframe.

"I thought you didn't listen to the shit I say, doesn't that the whole sociopath thing like.. stop you from caring?" Catalina turned around and faced him with her arms crossed, her foot tapping annoyedly on the ground.

Once again, she was drawn right back to him like a magnet.

"Well, I was never diagnosed so it might not even be true." Kai started making his way towards Cat, cautiously though making sure it was alright for him to be near her.

"Right." Catalina eyed him carefully, trying to find any signs of a lie but, there wasn't much she could tell from his expression.

The Santos girl was never much a believer in the ability of one person changing another person. It wasn't something that she had never seen before and yes, she was confident but, never enough to believe she alone could make someone a better person. Yet, on this "Christmas" day, a part of her wondered if a part of him cared about her.
