One week later:

Yasmin checked the time, realizing her husband would soon return. Hurriedly, she completed her chores, preparing for their visit to her in-laws for dinner. This occasion marked her first visit since their marriage, stirring a blend of excitement and nervousness within her. Having been to her in-laws' house only twice before in her life, Yasmin felt uncertain about what to expect from the evening. Turab had instructed her to be ready upon his arrival, adding to her anticipation and apprehension. The thought of meeting her in-laws after marriage brought a mix of emotions, from curiosity about their expectations to a desire to make a good impression. Yasmin's heart raced as she hurriedly got ready but stopped when she heard the sound of the bell. A smile was formed over her lips as she knew her husband had arrived.

Their relationship was progressing smoothly, with both her and Turab putting in effort. Yasmin felt relieved that Turab didn't bring up Ibrar's well-being for once. Instead, he had mentioned his younger sibling Laiba and his parents during their conversations.

Her earring slipped from her fingers, landing on the ground with a soft clink. Yasmin glanced at it briefly before darting towards the main door. As she stopped in front of the room, a huge smile spread across her lips, cheeks flushed with excitement. The sight of Turab waiting on the other side of the door brought a giddy feeling to Yasmin. She bit her lips and opened the door.

And there stood Captain Turab Hassan in his full army uniform, his presence commanding yet tender. He bit his lips slightly, trying to suppress a smile as he watched Yasmin's reaction. It amused him how she always seemed to drift into daydreams whenever she saw him. He couldn't help but take satisfaction in this.

Yasmin felt embarrassed when she noticed Turab staring at her, realizing she had been gazing at him like an idiot. Quickly averting her eyes, she cleared her throat and stepped aside, allowing him to enter the house. Her cheeks flushed with embarrassment, and she dared not glance at him again, trying to compose herself.

"Han to maine thori kaha tha ke itna pyara hona ko," Yasmin thought to herself with a hint of playful sarcasm. As she turned around, a gasp escaped her lips when she realized Turab was standing too close. Her breath hitched as she met his intense gaze, feeling a pull between them as their eyes locked. Turab stared into her brown eyes which seemed to captivate him every time.

A red hue spread across Yasmin's face as she cast her eyes down, feeling a shiver run down her spine. This man was supposed to be in jail for what he was doing to her. Yet, Turab seemed to enjoy the breathtaking view in front of him.

Backing away from her, Turab gave Yasmin some space to breathe, his expression unreadable. "Your earring is missing," he mentioned, his tone neutral.

Yasmin's eyes widened in surprise. "Wh-what?"

"Earring," Turab repeated, his gaze briefly flickering towards her lips when he saw her lips forming in an O shape before averting his eyes. With a clenched jaw, he turned around and walked inside, leaving Yasmin perplexed by his abrupt departure.

"Inko acanak sa kya ho gaya hai?" Yasmin mumbled to herself, perplexed by Turab's sudden change in behavior. She had observed him multiple times after their wedding, where he would unexpectedly back away from her or fall silent for a few minutes during their conversations. Yasmin couldn't help but wonder what triggered these sudden shifts in Turab's demeanor, leaving her puzzled.
