It was rare not to find Azalea Rose Willow here, sat on the secret sun-kissed beach of district 4, as her fingers gently strummed the guitar on her lap. Her voice hummed to the sound of what she played, the melody echoed with the rhythmic waves. It was her natural habitat, the one place where she could be herself away from all the restrictions placed in her life.

She sat on her pretend stage, as the sun painted her skin with a golden glow. A gentle breeze, whispered through her long and dark auburn hair, as her hazel brown eyes stared at the beautiful sea in front of her that mirrored the colour of the blue sky above. A voice took her out of her trance.

"Still serenading the seagulls Azalea Rose?" Finnick Odair said approaching his best friend Azalea, as he emerged from the sparkling water, his bronze physique glistening in the sunlight.

Finnick Odair, her best friend since they were 14, approached as he looked at her with a confident grin playing on his lips, a testament to his undeniable confidence.

Azalea couldn't help but admire the way he effortlessly looked as if he had no worries inside of his head, just pure joy and happiness from having swam in the ocean.

To Finnick, the sea was his natural habitat, although his friends would argue it was wherever Azalea was instead.

The boy had a magnetic charm that left an indelible mark on anyone fortunate enough to encounter him.

Azalea had secretly fallen for it. To her, Finnick was the embodiment of the sun's warmth on a summer day—captivating, confident, and endlessly humorous. These confessions were only ever seen inside her handwritten song books, though. Finnick was a flirt with everyone he met, which made her believe these feelings were not mutual.

"Well maybe they have good taste you know." Azalea replied back, as she looked up to meet his gaze, trying to avoid looking at anywhere but his face.

"I'd say they prefer the sound of the crashing waves." Finnick teased sitting next to her as he dried himself with the towel.

Azalea gasped as she pretended to be fake hurt. "Oh, come on! My singing is as enchanting as the call of a mermaid."

The sun-kissed breeze played with Azalea's hair as she continued to strum her guitar. Finnick smirked towards her as they locked gaze. "I wouldn't go that far."

"Oh really? is that why you just had to get out of the water the moment I started humming?"

"What? No, I just felt like a short swim." Finnick defended himself as he smirked towards her.

"Mhmm, a swim conveniently timed with the beginning of my performance. The seagulls might be the critics, but I know a mermaid fan when I see one."

"Okay Well, if it's that enchanting, why don't you continue? Sing something for me and the seagulls." He chuckled as he stared at her.
