The album was ranked number 1 on the Billboard 100 and the RIAA certified it as 'Diamond' since more than 10 million copies of the album have been sold in the United States. Eric Cruz performed the same single two years later in Los Angeles for the MTV Video Music Awards and won the Best Male Video Award.
