Have you ever wondered what was behind the perfect story of riding hood? The classic "granny gets eaten, red gets eaten, and ax man saves them?" Well, in this version, that is all in the past - the distant past. Even then, the wolf lives on. How? What if this beast was not only a beast? What if he was the baker down the street? The owner of the tavern? Your child's teacher? Your neighbour? Tales have been passed on, probably altered for a simple child's nursery story - but this is the story of not only Red, but also the wolf. Who he is, what he is, and how he manages to live on. The full moon rises and the wolf let's out a bellowing howl from deep within his chest. The walls of the city are closed, and the sacrifice is pushed out of the city walls and into the woods. Snapping of twigs is heard beneath her feet, and the growling of the beast echoes. All she had is a dagger in her hand and two children, who are safely tucked in within the walls. A snarl echoes and white teeth flash before her eyes as . . . Well, I can't ruin the story now, can I?
