Sixteen-year-old Bella Garling is an orphan who thinks she is cast into a hypocritical Christian family by the foster care system. Bella is strictly not religious at first, and she hates the fact that they seem to force her to tolerate their religion. But when new Christian friends enter her life from her new school, she begins to investigate whether the belief in Christianity has good outcomes in the lives of her friends and family, or if it just draws them into becoming hypocritical and judgmental snobs. But when the drama rises and a kidnapping takes place, Bella wrestles with the possibility that she might be broken forever, unless she believes in Jesus Christ.
