There are lives we live because they seem more-or-less expected of us, those that offer paths of least resistance, those where so much of our identities are inherited but rarely questioned. And then, there are lives of obstacles and forks in the road, of discoveries and cherished alternatives. Michael Saugus is a 40-something, well-compensated, management consultant. For Michael, it's a time of questioning career paths, of personal choices, of romantic attraction and of gender identification. The journey is told by way of regular diary-journal writings, social media postings, the exchanges of texts and emails and sometimes, even by listings of Google searches. Bookishly, this is called an epistolary novel. I like to call it 'observations along the way.' I hope you enjoy the journey. Janine O Northern California
