As I looked into her eyes, oceans of emotion swirling in them, her body pressed against mine, I felt vulnerable after so many years. Her peppermint breath fanned my face and I swear I saw the smallest glint of gold in those eyes of hers again. My hands traveled down to her waist, the material of her silver dress pressing against my fingertips. She let out a gasp. I wondered if she could feel the same burning sensation I was feeling while touching her. Holding her, I wished she could be gold again, wearing a dress I gave her. The longer I looked at her, the more I remembered. Her parents, her old life. I felt my hatred for the South Side multiply. Marigold leaned in closer to me, I was so sure we couldn't be any closer than we already were. Something flashed in her eyes, but it left as quickly as it came. Her eyes widened slightly as she fixated her eyes on something behind me.
