Degrees Stories

This short story is based off of the songs 'The Man Who Can't Be Moved' and 'Six Degrees of Separation' by The Script. I do not own the songs or their lyrics, but I do own this story as I wrote it myself. It is best if you know the songs, if not, that's ohkay too, feel free to read anyway. Enjoy!

Dodoitsu is a form of Japanese poetry concerning love, work and is usually funny. It consists of 4 lines of 7-7-7-5 syllables and is unmetered without rhymes.

It is the year 2024. The earth's tilt has shifted, resulting in massive storms on a scale we've never seen before. Civilization has been reduced to scattered groups of survivors. After being frozen for 10 years, an ordinary man must find one of these groups and defend himself against anything nature can throw at him. Rated PG for character deaths, obviously.

Cassie Boulden and her younger brother, Chase, have always had a pretty normal life with their caring, loving family...that is, they did up until that fateful day when tragedy struck. Now, with someone they so deeply cherished gone, they take on their lives from a whole new perspective. There is a very fine line between a 'house' and a 'home', and Cassie's not sure if she even knows what a home is anymore. The family was divided. and now the home is as well. It's been four long, hard years, and nothing seems to be getting any better. Relationships are becoming more strained, and Cassie is trying all she can to make life the best she possibly can for Chase. She begins to lose hope of ever having a happy family again...until three people walk into her life, changing it forever.

3 friends. 1 sauna. 121 degrees of heat. No time. When Samantha Celeste, Melissa Samone and Ryan Smith go on a holiday, non of them predict to be fighting for their lives against heat itself. They find themselves locked in the sauna and the controller is destroyed by their captor, leaving them no possible way to turn it off from inside. Their last and only hope is Melissa's stalker, Joshua Greyham. But he doesn't know how to turn it off and he has to race against time to get them out. The heat is rising... (Note: this is my first thriller story, and I've based it around what happens in the film 247°F, but with a few differences. Its also my first story to include different POVs, so please forgive me if its a bit rubbish. Also, big props to cl0ud_nine for the awesome cover of the story :))

Rose has had it all, a completely crazy life, heartbreaks, stupid boyfriends, idiotic friends, and a weird family. She has only one problem, she has never fallen in love. And while looking for the guy of her dreams, she stumbles upon a boy who she has no clue about, but falls for instantly. She has never gotten a chance to talk to him, scratch that, he doesn't even know if she exists. What happens when one day, she accidentally spills coffee on his t shirt?
