"So you are Kaitou Kid.. Kaito?"
There was another reason why Conan had decided to pay Kaito a visit yesterday, yes he was going to visit his magician from the start but another reason was added as to why Conan wanted to meet him, it was confirmed when Kaito decided to go and went to his house. He wished that it was only a mistake but it was all confirmed once he heard everything from his magician himself. There were so many possible reason and things he could have thought through but the suspicious of his beloved Kaito being the Phantom Thief overlaps his other theories, it was a painful discovery especially when he had injured his own lover a few times as their alter ego, despite it being minor ones.
After Kaito ended the call, Conan's prediction was already confirmed. Eyes hidden beneath the glasses glared light, he left the window then headed to the living room opening up the laptop he borrowed from Haibara. His suspicious started when an unfortunate turn of events happened in one of their heist 2 days ago.

[Flashback]
The heist was going so well without any casualties or whatsoever but nobody expected that somebody was gonna get killed during the heist that it was forced to be postponed, prioritizing the murder case as Megure-keibu arrived at the scene.. along with Kudo Shinichi. Out of everyone in the room, Ran didn't expect that his childhood friend will arrived at the scene. She wanted to give Kaito a call to tell him about his lover's sudden appearance but Conan stopped her before she could dialed his phone. This feeling... this cannot be a coincidence anymore the longer he looked at the thief impersonating him, he let it slide a few times whenever this happens but tonight he has a bad feeling that something worse will happen once this case was over.
Kaito, who's disguised as his lover, doesn't know how or why but the only person he could never fooled when dressed like his detective was the tiny detective in front of him. True it was risky to use his lover's face as a disguised but it was perfect knowing that they look exactly the same however out of every people he impersonate, Conan always manages to figured out right away that it's him. Are they perhaps acquaintance or relatives? The similarity of both detectives in appearance and mind cannot be a coincident after all, maybe he'll just asked his lover about it once he had accomplish his goal as Kaitou Kid.
Indigo and Azure eyes gazed at each other, talking without the use of words as if knowing what they have in mind while they both agreed to help one another in this case for them to be able to continue their usual duel in the heist.

"TANTEI-KUN!!"
BANG!
This wasn't supposed to happen, he was being really careful but when he saw Kid being surrounded by a group of men in black with guns pointed to his rival, his mind went blank. All he could remember is Kaitou Kid shouting out to him and a gun shoot, groan and hissed snapped him back to reality when the magician had managed to saved him from getting injured. What was he doing?
Before he could worry about the injured phantom thief in front of him, he was suddenly picked up by him as he threw a flash bomb onto the ground blinding the group of men taking this opportunity to hurriedly made an escaped. Feeling the cold breeze, Conan tear a piece of his shirt then tied it around the wound on Kid's arm earning a complain from him.
"You can do that later, I don't have full control over my hang glider now because of my injured arm.. and I might drop you-"
"Shut up for a second I'm almost done."
"Shut up for a second will you? And stopped moving!"
Shini.. why is he suddenly remembering that time he got injured during one of his failed magic trick earning him a sprained ankle? When his lover found out about it, he was greeted back to his house with an annoyed "what the hell are you doing?" look from the detective. He had to admit, he would gladly get injured as many times as he can just so Shinichi can treat him but he will definitely get another injury instead if the detective found out.
The longer he stares at the boy in his arms, the easier he can see the terrifying resemblance the both of them had, he would've definitely think the boy he's holding is his lover if it was possible- ...could it?
"But it hurts."
"But it hurtsss, and I can just do it on my own."
When his saw his fated rival's expression back then, he was sure that for a second there he thought the person in front of him was his beloved magician however.. Looking back at the thief who quickly looked away, not being able to hide the redness of the tip of his ear, he had the same expression when he once hurt himself during a soccer match. Shinichi didn't really like comparing his lover to the thief carrying him but..
"This is no mere coincidence anymore."

Eyes widen, Shinichi suddenly felt a terrifyingly familiar burning feeling and the tightening of his chest which caused him to gripped tightly onto it causing Kaito to looked up at him with a worried look on his face which scared him even more.
"Should I really reveal myself to him like this?"
Realizing, Kaito caught a glimpse of something behind Shinichi which drained the color on his face, completely forgetting to hide it behind his mask. His blood stained Kaitou Kid suit sticking out of the closet he hurriedly hid.
"Was this the right choice to make?.."
From the start, they were already leaving hints to each other and planning to reveal their identity to one another, that day was no coincidence since both of them would never act that reckless when their identity is at stake. They wanted to know if one is actually ready to know the truth and finally,
"Tantei-kun is.."
"Kaitou Kid is.."

[Present]
"Shinichi."
"Kaito."
Conan glance back to the window of his room where Kaito was standing earlier while talking to him over the phone, Kaito glancing at the hidden camera in the room showing a live footage on the laptop Conan is using.
Haibara couldn't helped but sighed seeing the two lovers, they already know each other's identity but they still ended up being like this. She wanted to dragged and locked the two in one room and let them talk but she knows that they have their own way of working things out.
"Should we really leave those two be?"
"Let us not get in between those two, Hakase. "

After that day, a personal invitation from Kaitou Kid was sent to the Professor's house. Conan was waiting for it, he knows that he'll get the invitation sooner or later, this is also the reason why he stayed at the Professor's place for awhile since he didn't want to risk Ran reading the letter Kid has personally sent him. And now, they're at the meeting place, facing each other with a determined look on each other's face.
"So you have finally arrived, Metantei."
"I didn't want to keep you waiting, Kid."
A phantom thief standing in the middle of the rooftop, A detective standing by the door, it was the very first place they had meet as their alter ego without knowing that the other was the love of their life. It may seem complicated to know that they had to eventually became rivals and one might end up going to jail but they know that there was only one thing to do. Continue on and move forward. The both of them don't know the whole story about each other's secret identity but they know that they wanted to support each other through it, Conan hiding his identity from everyone and trying to look for someone, Kaito becoming a Phantom Thief and trying to find a jewel. They didn't want to be in the way of each other's goal but they also didn't want to let the other get away with it easily.
"Feelings aside, My Dear Magician?"
"Agreed, My Dear Detective."

[3 Years Later]
"You finally got it, Kaito."
"The same goes to you, Shinichi."
Years went by and soon the two lovers had reached the day where both of their alter ego will be put aside and forgotten as they continue to move forward. Finally, they could breath at ease without worrying about the danger they might surround their lovers with. Taking Shinichi's glasses off, Kaito removing his monocle and top hat off, they dropped it on the ground as they finally embraced each other for the first time in awhile in their own selves without their hidden identity in placed. Shinichi couldn't helped but smiled knowing that he can finally hugged his lover in his original body without suddenly turning back into a child, Kaito was crying silently in his arms but he knows his lover was smiling as well. Kaito buries his face onto his detective's chest, he finally avenged his father and finally destroyed Pandora that he couldn't helped but cried knowing that Kaitou Kid's duty is now over and the both of them can finally get their life back to the way it used to be.
"We did it, Kaito/Shinichi."
