Maki's POV
My stomach is huge and I'm due to give birth any day now, well specifically my due date isn't for another 2 weeks. Or so I thought... I walked over to the freezer, so I could I eat a pint of ice cream with Cheeto puffs cuz cravings when something happened, and I looked down see what exactly happened.
" K-Kaito..."
" Hm?"
" Shit..."
" What's wrong babe?"
He got up and wrapped his arm around me and looked down at the puddle that formed under me.
"Maki... I know you're pregnant and all and prolly can't control it, but could you not piss on the floor."
" You idiot... I didn't pee myself. My water just broke and I'm going into labor..."
" Now?! B-but I thought your due date wasn't for another 2 weeks! Why now?!"
" Don't question it, just shut up and take me to the hospital!"
" Ok! ok!"
He picked me up.
" Wait get my purse."
" Really? Do you really need it right now?"
" Just get it for me."
" *Sigh* Fine."
He grabbed my bag from off the counter and then carried me out the door and all the way to the car. Once he started driving I started hyperventilating.
" Maki calm down."
" I am calm dammit! Just drive faster!"
" What do you think I'm doing?"
I pulled my phone out my purse and called Kaede.
" Oh hi Maki! What's-"
" No time Kaede, my water just broke and we're on our way to the hospital."
" Wait really?! Now?!"
" Yes! We're going to the hospital closest to our apartment."
" Say no more, I'm leaving as we speak."
" Can you call Shuuichi for me?"
" Yeah sure."
I then hung up. It was starting to hurt a little.
" Kaito drive faster!!"
" I am!"
Shuuichi's POV
I'm not sure what time it was but my phone started ringing and Kokichi buried his face into my chest.
" Shuuichi... Turn your damn phone off... I'm tryna sleep..."
" It's probably not that important... I'll just let it go to voicemail..."
I cuddled Kokichi closer to me and tried to go back to sleep until my phone ran again.
" Shuuichi..."
" I know I know... I'll just let it ring..."
And again it rang.
" Ok... This is the third time in a row so it *must* be important."
I reached over the nightstand and grabbed my phone.
" Yeah...?"
" Shuuichi!"
" Kaede...? As much as I enjoy conversations with you... Can't this wait till later...? We got home an hour ago from an 18 hour long flight and we're both exhausted, we just wanna sleep for a few more hours..."
Not only am I tired but my back hurts from having sex in that bathroom, I shouldn't have let Kokichi rope me in to that.
" I know I know, I'm sorry for waking you and I definitely wanna hear about your trip, but this CANNOT wait until later!"
" Well then what is it...?"
" It's Maki!"
I immediately sat up in bed.
" What's wrong? Is she ok?"
" She's fine. But her water broke!"
I got out of bed quickly and started putting my pants back on.
" Alright I'm on my way!"
I hung up and searched around the room for my belt. I turned the light on and he hissed.
" Babe... Where are you going...?"
" Hospital."
" Why...?"
" Maki's going into labor."
" Yeahhhh... But why do you have to go...?"
" Because she's my best friend and I have to be there to support her."
Out of the corner of my eye I noticed Kokichi slowly getting out of bed.
" You don't have to come if you don't want to, I know you're tired."
" Yeah I do. I gotta be there supporting you supporting her. Besides I can probably take a short nap in the car."
After getting dressed we quickly headed over to the hospital I saw Kaito pacing back and forth in the waiting room mumbling to himself and pulling at his hair. He saw me and immediately hugged me.
" Thanks so much for being here bro, I really appreciate it."
" It's nothing really. I had to be here to support you two."
" How's she doing?"
" Besides the fact that she's in incredible fucking pain? Then yeah other then that she's fine."
" I gotta go back to her, I promised I wouldn't leave her for too long."
With that he hurried down the hall. Kokichi and I both sat down.
" Welp. Guess we're gonna be here for awhile. Let's get comfy."
It wasn't that long until Kaede arrived with balloons, stuffed animals and other baby items. Kaito would come back every once and give updates on how she was doing. Eventually I got up and got the three of us cheap probably watered down hospital coffee. Once Kokichi took of a sip of it he smacked his lips and then looked at me.
" This coffee tastes like shit."
" Yeah, I know. But it serves it purpose when you're tired."
" Did you put sugar in this?"
" Yeah."
" How many?"
" About 15."
" Creamer?"
" Yeah."
" All that sugar and it still tastes like ass. And not even the good kind."
Later
" Hey babe?"
" Yeah?"
" How long have we been here for?"
" About 2 hours."
" Can't labor last up to like 18 hours?"
" I believe so."
" Oh god... And she gotta push out 2 kids... If we reach the 10 hour mark and she still ain't pop out at least 1 kid I'm going home."
Even later
" How long has it been now?"
" We've been here for 5 hours."
" Ughhhhhhhhhhh! I gotta take a walk outside, my ass hurts from sitting."
So much later the old narrator got tired of waiting and they had to hire a new one.
" Hey Shuuichi..."
" Yeah Kaede?"
"It's been awhile since Kaito gave us any updates. Do... You think Maki is alright...?"
" Maki's strong, I know she's probably fine."
Just as I said that I looked up and saw him slowly walking down the hallway, the closer he got the more I noticed that he was actually crying. I automatically assumed the worst. The only time I've ever seen Kaito somewhat cry it was out fear because we were talking about ghosts.
" Is Maki ok...?"
" Yeah, she's fine... All 3 of them are fine."
" All 3...? She gave birth!!"
" Yeah, about a half hour ago she gave birth to our son and daughter, Aries and Aquarius."
" I'm so happy for you two!! Or I guess you four now!"
" Do you wanna meet them?"
" Of course!"
As I got up and started to walk down the hall I turned back around and saw that Kokichi was still sitting down, staring intently at his empty chip bag.
" Kokichi...? What's wrong? You know you can come with us."
" No... It's fine... I'll be alright here... Take as much time as you want..."
" There is something wrong with you, I know it."
" No babe really... I'm fine... Just a little tired..."
" I won't spend a lot of time in there, then we can go home and you can tell me what's wrong, you haven't really been acting like yourself ever since we got here."
" Ha... Can't get anything past your detective eyes..."
" Just... Go be with your friends... I'll be fine here."
Using my jacket as a blanket he turned away from me in his seat. Once we got in the room Keade's eyes lit up.
" Ooooooh!! Babies!! So cute!!"
" Kaede... Why the hell do you have that giant teddy bear?"
" It's for you! Well the both of you."
Kaede had this huge 5 foot pink bear that had the words " First Time Mommy And Daddy" on it and on the feet it had both their kid's names on it.
" It's... Cute..."
" Isn't it."
" Where do we even put this?"
" Let's put it in the nursery."
" Yeah, because there's room for that thing amongst the other four thousand stuffed animals and toys."
" Then let's put it in our room."
" Well thanks Kaede. I... Appreciate it."
" Can I please hold one of them?!"
" Sure, just don't drop my baby."
" I won't! I promise."
Kaede carefully took the baby from Maki and gently rocked her back and forth.
" Hi there little cutie~! You are so adorable~! You two made such cute kids."
" Hell yeah we did!"
" Shuuichi, do you want to hold the other baby?"
" Can I...?"
" That's why I asked you isn't it?"
I slowly took the other baby from Kaito and held the baby. Kaede is right, both those kids are adorable.
" Am I holding him right?"
" Tilt his head up a little more."
" Like this...?"
" Yeah, just like that."
As I slowly rocked the baby when he grabbed at my finger and started sucking on it.
" I think he likes you."
" Does he?"
I looked up to see Kokichi watching us from the window, he looked like he was on the verge of tears. Just as I was thinking that the baby started crying and I started panicking.
" Ah! W-what did I do?!"
" Nothing, he's probably just hungry. Here let me see him."
I gave the baby back to Maki and she started breastfeeding him. Kaito leaned down to whisper something in her ear.
" No you are not drinking my breastmilk when we get home."
" Just a little! Like a shot glass full! I'm curious, I just wanna know what it tastes like!"
" *Sigh* Weirdo..."
" No it's not weird! It's out of curiosity!"
While those to went back and forth on whether it's weird to want to drink breastmilk I went outside to check on Kokichi. He was watching them and he looked slightly sad. I put my hand on his shoulder.
" Do you want to see the babies?"
" Did you forget the Harukawa fucking hates me? I honestly don't wanna piss her off.
" Then what's wrong?"
" I'm happy for them... I really am... Haven't even been parents for a day and I already can tell they'll be great..."
I think I figured out why he's acting like this.
" Are you by any chance... Jealous...?"
" Yeah... I guess you can say I am..."
" Its just... When will we be that smiling happy family...?"
" I know you want a family... I want one too really I do..."
" But the adoption process takes awhile."
" I'm talking about adoption! Surrogacy!"
" A surrogate?"
" Yeah!"
" Who would even be our surrogate mother?"
" Your sister."
" What?!"
" Hear me out first. You agree that your sister looks exactly like you, riiiight"
" Yeah..."
" So all I gotta do is put my sperm in her and boom! Kid that looks like us!"
" You make it sound so simple."
" That's because it is that simple!"
" I really don't think it is. Besides that's a huge decision for her, I doubt she'll even agree to it."
" Then if she doesn't we'll get an actual surrogate, I just want the baby to look like us."
" We can talk about it more later... But why don't we buy a house first..."
" A house?"
" Yeah. We can't live in our apartment forever. So let's buy a nice house."
" So why don't we start looking for house."
" But I don't want a house... I want a mansion!"
" Then will buy a mansion. We'll do whatever you want."
" *Then* I get my baby...?"
" Yes, then we can decide how we want to have a child."
" So you promise?"
" Yes I promise."
He held his pinkie out and I locked mine with his.
" Now you can't break it."
" I know and I don't intend on breaking it."
" Ok. Can we go home now?"
" We left Sushi alone for a good while."
" Yes we can go home."
I said my goodbye's and I congratulated Maki and Kaito one more time. As we were leaving I couldn't help but notice Angie, Himiko, Tenko, Tsumugi, Kirumi, Miu, Kiibo, Gonta, Korekiyo, Rantarou and Ryoma all go in carrying balloons and other baby items. Kaede really wasted no time calling everyone. Kokichi noticed too and pulled me closer to him so he could whisper something in my ear.
"*Whispering* Eventually they'll be doing that for us."
" I know, I know."
