to this fate
to always be
standing
on the edge
in the
periphery
of someone's
vision
the name on the
tip
of your tongue
the memory in the
back
of your mind
a wallflower
to some
invisible
to others
a nameless faceless
being
as corporeal as a
specter
a ghoulish
ghostly
haunting
of the living
and their loved
you have eyes
but you cannot
see me
you have ears
but you cannot
hear me
you have fingers
but you are too
far away
to touch me
it sounds like a
riddle
but it is just
reality
and perhaps
reality
is a
riddle
in itself
because what is more
confusing
than the
conundrum
of life?
