The rest of the night played out like any other, you ate together and went to sleep due to your husband being exhausted, even if he played it off. Sometimes you wished he weren't so busy, especially now but he was an amazing man.

Wanting to surprise Kakashi, you decided to leave a note to meet you at the cabin in the woods since it wasn't long until Christmas. Before he could say another word, he saw you placing logs in the fireplace and as he looked it was clear you had left the star for the top of the tree for him. Even if he'd not arrived until after Christmas day, you'd have still left it for him. "Sure," heading to the bathroom, he sat in the warm water a while wondering about why he'd reacted so drastically but then he remembered the way you'd been last time he saw you. That is when a gut feeling he had started to play on his mind.
Maybe you were fed up with him, so not wanting to wait anymore, he rushed his bath barely getting warm before slipping so more casual clothing on and not bothering to cover his face for you as he normally would.
