Dila's pov:
Josh and I walked into the Hawk Company, we went to the CEO office. I saw Alexandra pacing around. When she saw us, she stopped us. "There is a meeting inside." She stated, "this early! It's eight-thirty." I said.
"As the company is going through a crisis... we need to be ready so..." she started. "And we are training here so we should get inside," Josh said as he walked in, I followed him. Alexandra walked behind us but when Ashton nodded. She didn't push us back.
"So what is the meeting about?" Josh asked Ashton seriously. "Our company is broke..." an employee said.
"It is not broke yet, I am going to solve the problem." Ashton glared at the employee. "What happened? Why did your company reach this part?" Josh asked sitting on a chair as an employee gave him a file after Ashton approved. I sat beside Josh and read the file.
"We lost some important clients for the past year, we only have mini clients left." One explained. "We are trying to catch some big clients so we won't announce our bankruptcy." another employee added.
"Alright, let's continue," Ashton said, I took the file from Josh as I skimmed to the client part.
"Sir, if I may say this..." I started as all eyes were on me. "There are two clients we can make it work." I started. "If we reduced the amount we asked for... we might-"
"We can't reduce the amount, we are indeed for money." Someone said. "Yes we can, if we did then we can buy some time to add more clients," I explained and looked at Ashton who was thinking deeply. "We could do that!" He announced. "Sir, but-" a worker started to say... "I am selling my jet and yacht, my penthouse and villa... you can relax, I'll get some funds." He glanced at everyone.
"Let's see what we can give these clients an offer so they would pick us, not everything about the money." He said looking down at his files.
He is selling the villa and the penthouse... the penthouse where everything started... my brain whispered. I don't care about the villa... it held bad memories, my brain added. I know, it held bad memories but, it's where Xavier... no, it's where you got framed and dumped. I thought.
The penthouse is okay, it's the first time you confess your love... it all started there, you started your dream there, that's what you should buy. I thought, wait! Who said anything about buying...
"Hey, you okay?" Josh asked me, I looked at him. "Ashton asked you a question." He told me looking at Ashton, "yeah, what?" I asked. "Can you come here... both of you?" He told us, we nodded and walked beside him. "This is the client's file, I want you both to search for everything about them. Study these files we will make an appointment with them Tomorrow." He said and we nodded. We took the files and went outside.
Josh went to work in the lobby, I told him I wanted to ask Alexandra something. "Yes?" Alexandra said when she noticed me. "Ashton is selling his houses..." I started. "Yes, he already sold all his car leaving only one. And his jet is being sold right now.." she replied. "Uh... he is in a very bad situation then," I told her and she nodded. "Thank you," I said and went to the kitchen.
I called one person who wouldn't stop me from what I am going to do. I called Josh's best friend, Jason. "Hey there Dila." I heard his voice cheerfully. "Hi, I am about to ask you for a very big favor," I said quickly.
"And since you are asking me then you don't want Josh to know or anyone else..." he continued. "True.." I trailed off. "Would you go out with me?" He asked and I laughed. "No, I would not go out with you..." I said and heard a sigh. "Would you let Xavier go out with me?" He asked making me laugh more. "I don't trust you with Xavier." I said and heard another sigh... "you know, if it is a bad thing then Josh would kill me." He said, "at least give me something..." he whined and I laughed. "Alright, I will invite you over dinner tonight... and you can play with Xavier," I said and he squealed. "Alright, what do you want?" He asked me.
"Ashton Hawk is selling his penthouse.. can you see how much..." I asked. "Okay, I will." He said.
"Come to Hawk company to get my card," I told him and he said okay then hang up.
I went back to work with Josh. He is so serious when it comes to working. "What did you find?" I asked, "well not much, unless we asked for dad's help." He said and I shook my head no. "We got to work on our own... let's start with family members," I said as we dug in each client's family. "He has a daughter... she is six months old," Josh said and I wrote down. "What would that help us?" He asked me. "We could tell him he has a beautiful daughter.." I shrugged.
"Which would make us creepy!" He pointed out. "Then plan b..." I said hesitated. "Bring Xavier here..." he said and we both smirked. "Good..." we had a strategy to make. The second client didn't have a weak side... "what now?" Josh asked me. "Give it to me," I told him as I took the laptop. I searched about his old life. "He is a lonely child..." I whispered.
"God! He has no weak point!" Josh huffed annoyed. "Oh, he does," I smirked. "What?" Josh asked excitedly. "He is divorced." I said and he gave me a poker face, "what kind of weak side is that?" He asked me. "I got divorced and he did, so we have something in common.." I winked.
"Once he found out that you freaking working with your ex-husband he will be out... idiot!" He mimicked. I thought for a moment... "so what now?" I asked running my hand through my hair. "I suggest we ask boss... isn't he our trainer now," Josh told me as he pulled me up. We went to Ashton office. We entered, he was reading a file... "yes..." he said when he notices us walking inside. "We got a strategy with a client and a common thing with the other one." Josh said I explained our plan... "no" that was his answer.
"No?" I asked. "I am not going to use my son for a freaking business deal... that is cheap, my son is not for deals or sells," Ashton said and I looked at him with doubt. "Yeah, sure he isn't for sale. Well, his mother was." I remarked and saw the hurt on his face. "I wanted to do something good, fine... I never wanted to use MY SON." I said as I specifics my son. "I never thought you were for sale, ever!" He emphasized. "Oh, I am sorry... I don't recall that. 'This is what fake marriage is, I buy you and you keep your mouth shut' that was your words, that what I heard in court... I was bought. But it's no longer going to be this way." I finished as I felt myself breaking again. I went outside, Josh was shooting daggers at Ashton.
"Dila... did he say that?" Josh asked me. "I don't want to talk about it," I said and he nodded. The next thing I know is Josh running back to his office, and hearing a loud thud. I ran after him, I pulled Josh back. "STOP!" I yelled. "I don't care if I needed to train another six months but I will kill you. You F×××er." He was shouting as Ashton grabbed his desk tightly. "Get out!" He yelled at Josh. "What will you do, I hope to see you broke... I will make this happen. B****" Josh yelled as I pushed him outside.
"Stop, please... we want to graduate, I beg you." I pleaded and he shook his head no. "You graduate, I will go finish him and run away overseas. Dad will even understand." He said seriously. I huffed and dragged him out of the company.
Ashton's pov:
I sat down remembering that day when we fought. I said those words to her yet I never meant them, I did that, I am the one who did that to myself.
Yesterday, when her uncle gave me that flashcard. I saw what she's been through in court. My lawyer lies and harsh words, she cried. He freaking made her cry. I can't do anything, I just want to be free of this pain. I can't, I felt my lungs closing up as I saw dark points. I was about to reach for my meds but my chest pain was preventing me. It's one of the hard seizures I would get. My breathing would stop and my heart will, as the doctor advised me to keep someone so they would do a CPR. I thought It would be easier if I died this way.
As I fell to the ground, I saw Alexandra rushing to me. "Sir!" I heard her as I blacked out.
I woke up in my office. Alexandra was talking to a doctor. "Good thing you were around.. he needs to free himself from the pain or he might die." Alexandra nodded. The doctor noticed me awake. "Mr. Hawk, I requested you to have a full rest." The doctor said. "Please listen to my advice." He said, I shook his hand and then he went out. "Alexandra, I am going to sleep for a while," I said and she nodded. She went outside and closed the door after.
When I woke up again, I went outside to the roof to get fresh air. I was about to walk to the edge when I saw Dila sitting next to a guy close. I was mad, I wanted to throw him from the roof.
Dila's pov:
I kicked Josh out of the company and asked him to go home, he went angrily. I walked back to the kitchen to get something to drink. When I came back, I saw Alexandra rushing out of Ashton office. She was talking to someone on the phone. "Yes, he blacked out again... I didn't feel any pulse so I did a CPR, it started again... now what should I do?" She asked, "yeah, I'll make him drink this... okay, yeah... in the company." She hanged up.
"What's wrong?" I asked her. She looked at me, "can you leave him alone! He is in so much pain. I don't want him to lose his life." She yelled at me. I raised my eyebrows at her. "Do you know his seizures are killing his brain... he just had a seizure he couldn't handle it so his heart stopped. I had to do a CPR right in there... so leave if you are going to make him go into much more pain." She warned me as she called security. I was frozen. I couldn't move...
Did his heart stop? I thought I am killing him. I said. What did I ever do? I asked myself. He left me then came back, I let him be with his son yet I am still hurting him. I should leave, I will tell him first.
"Dila.." someone called me, I saw Jason. "You okay?" He asked, "yeah I am perfectly fine." I said not sure. "Alright, I found out what you asked for... you want to know?" He asked me making sure, I nodded. "Let's go." I went to the elevator and we went to the rooftop.
We sat at the edge and he gave me his tablet, "I don't think he wants to sell the penthouse." He started. "He put it for sale, but didn't say the price... so if someone bid higher than the price he is asking for which I found out how much through my contacts, he will sell it." He explained. "Alright, why do you think he doesn't want to sell it?" I asked.
"His penthouse costs 2.5 million, he put 10 million as a price no one will predict that!" Jason exclaimed. "You still want it?" He asked me, I nodded. "So I will put 100 thousand more-"
"Give it 11 million," I informed him. "I don't think it worth that much." He said worriedly. "It worth for me," I said as I handed him my mother's black credit card. He started typing.
After some time, he was done. "All done, we will wait to confirm our request, also... we need to sign a contract." He told me. "I could send my lawyer right?" I asked him and he nodded. "I guess." He sighed. "You know I have feelings for..." he looked at me as I looked at him in horror. "What's with your look, I have feelings for Xavier! Chill." He said as he smirked.
"Idiot!" I murmured but he laughed. He put his arm around my shoulder. "I am good with being your best friend only... actually if I thought for a moment. I can't be more than a brother." He informed me. "I am more into younger girls." He announced and I hit him playfully on his chest. "Stupid." He laughed, "ugh, I am tired... Xavier woke me up early today then I slept. Then I woke up again... I am so sleepy!" I yawned, "oh well, I had an exam today.. so I stayed awake till four then slept for two hours only... I guess I need to sleep more." He smirked. "Shut up, I am a mother," I said and rested my head on his shoulder. "That gives you all the rights." He mumbled.
I closed my eyes for milliseconds, "what the f is going on here?" I heard Ashton ask me. We parted and I looked at him. "what's wrong?" I stood up quickly with Jason. "You are a trainer here! This is not a lover roof, this is the place where you work!" He was scolding us. "Sir, this is my friend. Jason... he is here for a consult." I replied. "I don't care... go to my office now!" He ordered me. "I'll pick you up later," Jason said as he walked past Ashton.
I walked after Jason but he stopped me. "Where are you going?" He asked. "To your freaking office," I said as I yanked my elbow out of his hand. "Who is that?" He asked me. "A friend," I emphasized the word friend. "It better be just friends." He warned me and I saw red. I ran after Jason as Ashton ran after me. "Jason!" I yelled at him as I saw him waiting for the elevator. He looked at me and I smashed my lips against his. He was frozen but in a moment he carried on and circled his hand around my waist.
Next thing I felt hands around me as Ashton picked me away from him. "Leave HER!" Jason yelled. "I say yes to your question," I told Jason, everyone was frozen. Ashton stopped moving, I was still in his arms. I tried to push myself away. The elevator door opened and Ashton shoved me inside with him. Jason looked at us dumbfounded, Ashton pressed the close button.
He pressed the button to his office then stopped the elevator. "What question?" He asked me deadly. "None of your damn business," I yelled. "It is my damn business when it comes to my son!" He roared.
"No, he is my son. And by the way... Jason asked me to be his fiancée at first I said no... but then, I should give him a chance." I smirked his way. "No, you are not!" He said as he cornered me.
"What are you doing?" I asked him and he smirked. "What do you think?" He asked. "Don't dare touch me!" I hissed his way as his face was inches away, "Dila Amaryllis... You will marry me-"
"Don't, I will never," I said and he smirked. "Or should I lock your cousin in prison for punching me?" He stated. I looked at him with wide eyes. "You won't get this dirty!" I whispered yelling in his face. "Believe me, if I felt that I will lose you I will." He said and I chuckled. "Lose me... you freaking don't own me, you lost me already.." I said sarcastically. "Well, then I should win you back." He announced.
"Win me by forcing me into marrying you again!" I almost yell, "Because, I made a mistake I will try to make things right." He said averting his eyes away from me. "By forcing me..." I completed. "Well, be my guest. I'll never marry you, Ashton Leo Hawk!" I said his full name as I pushed him off and pressed the button for the elevator to move. It reached his office and I walked to my desk where it became a trainer's place.
I sat on my chair. Ashton walked to me. "Dila, my office now.." he said in front of all employees. "Yes sir," I said sharply. I walked behind him then closed the door. "What?" I asked. "About Tomorrow clients... you had strategies, I wanted to explain why we don't use these strategies here." He said seriously. At least I would learn something.
"It's not professional. I can't involve Xavier in this. If we do, we would lose the client." He explained some more about what we can do in this situation, and how we can give him a good show at a good price. "Okay," I said as I noted everything. A nock interrupted us, Josh walked in with Xavier crying his eyes out. "What happened?" I asked running to him. "No one knows! Even the doctor said there is nothing wrong with him!" Josh said as he handed Xavier to me. "What's wrong baby?" I asked and he rested his head on my chest, he calmed down. "What the????" Josh looked at him.
"Seriously! You can't just say you missed your mother!" Josh said annoyed, "I held him while he screamed in my ear the whole ride, I think I'll go deaf." Josh rubbed his ear.
Ashton put his hand on Xavier's head. I see that he missed him too. Xavier looked at me then hit my chest with his head multiple times. "You hungry?" I asked as he pouted about to cry again. "Okay, okay babe... I'll feed you... don't cry." I cooed at him as he calmed down. "I'll go-"
"No stay here we will go out." Ashton declared as he walked out with Josh. I sat on the couch and fed him.
When I was done, he was already fast asleep. I laid him on the couch as I sat on the ground afraid he might fall. I heard a knock, "com in" I said and the door opened. Ashton walked in with Josh behind him. "So the last price is lower with 200 thousand?" Josh asked and Ashton nodded. "Yes, for the clients.. they would see the lowest price yet they want a good quality and show." He was explaining the same thing to Josh, as he showed him files.
When they were done, Josh looked at me. "Let's head home." He said and I shook my head no. I know it's getting late but, I and Jason have a business. "I am going with Jason," I told him. Ashton was beside Xavier, he was kissing his hand and face. "Oh, you want me to take Xavier?" He asked. "No it's fine, I'll talk to you later..." I said as I took out my phone and texted Jason.
"Okay bye." Josh waved going out. I looked at Ashton who was staring at me. "Don't make me do it." He said sadly. "What?" I asked. "Don't make me put Josh in prison!" He hissed whispering not wanting to wake Xavier. "Ashton, if you dared to, I swear I will prevent you from seeing Xavier Until he is 18!" I threatened him. "You can't do that to your son." He stated. "Then don't make me!" I hissed angrily.
"I can't risk you marrying someone else." He said as he kissed Xavier before picking him up. "Where the heck are you taking my son!" I yelled as Xavier opened his eyes looking at me. "I just want to hold him." He said sitting down on the couch. Xavier looked at his father.
My phone beeped, I looked at it. Jason was waiting for me. That what the message said. "I need to go," I said and Ashton nodded. "Alright, let me... take him... to the car." He asked and I accepted. I took his bag along with my purse. We went into the elevator, I saw a lot of people staring. When we walked out of the company, Jason was waiting by the minivan... it's like an SUV when he saw us, he opened the back door. "Xavier is here..." he said as he approached Ashton who was glaring. "Dila, I don't think he has a seat for-"
"Oh, yes I do... There, you can put him in his car seat." Jason said referring to the children's seat. Ashton put him then sat beside him. "What? I am staying with my son until I tuck him into bed." He said and I rolled my eyes. "We aren't going home now so if you may..." I said irritated, he gets down not without touching my hand.
He went inside without another word. We get in the car and the driver drove off. "Look, we got the penthouse. His lawyer was taking care of it so, we got it." Jason said. "I send your uncle lawyer." I nodded. "Good, so I can move there?" I questioned, "yup. You could in two days, I can arrange that." I nodded. "So about earlier..." I started.
"Don't." He said shortly as he continued playing with Xavier. "I am sorry, I was mad at him that I..." I didn't know what else to say. "I was trying to forget my crush on you... I was about to succeed when you made my stomach burst into a lovely feeling and butterflies. I don't want to talk about it." He said as I stared at him shocked. "Wait! I am older than you!" I shook my head at him
"By one month only." He pouted. Then looked at me. "I would love to call you my fiancée." He said seriously. "Jason!" I covered my face with my hand. "But you are too old for me." He said smirking. "Are you freaking joking right now!" I yelled and he burst out laughing. "I might have wanted to see your face, even Xavier is chuckling at you right now..."
The rest of the ride home was him laughing and me glaring. "I'll take care of the penthouse, when are you moving there?" He asked me. "I don't know, I'll tell my family today," I said and he nodded. We walked inside my uncle's house, they were all in the living room. "Good evening," I said and sat beside dad, he smiled at me and hugged me a side hug. Jason walked in with Xavier, he sat beside Josh and Mason.
"I heard from a bird that you bought a penthouse." Uncle started saying. "That bird would be your lawyer..." I said and he chuckled. "Yes, I bought a penthouse. I am moving there in a week." I told them, a look of horror was seen on their faces. "No! I will miss Xavier." Josh said hurt. Everyone was nodding in agreement. "You will miss Xavier!" I mimicked him. "Anyway, If no one mind, I want to move out... and I am serious," I said.
"We know honey... why would you buy a house if you aren't planning on moving," Dad said and I hugged him. "We will move back to our house then." Mom said smiling at me, "what!" Mason and Josh yelled together. "Oh no, I never had a brother. Don't leave me!" Josh hugged Mason tightly. "Oh, well... where should I move then?" Uncle asked. "Two days in Jeremy's house and four days in Dila's house... great," Uncle said looking happy. "I am moving with Dila," Josh said smirking. "And I am taking Mason with me." Josh grinned as Mason nodded approving. We all laughed at how childish they look.
One week later, I finally moved into the penthouse. When mom and dad found out which penthouse I wanted to move in, they didn't question me. They were surprised, so they told my uncle who was right now pacing around in my new home. "Like, I am not against you moving... I am just wondering why you didn't tell us. And why?" He said looking at me seriously. "Don't get me wrong... I want to know that's it." He said and I walked to him and hugged him. He hugged me immediately. "Uncle, I... I have so many memories here. I don't want to let go of them." I said and he looked at me dumbfounded.
"Here was the first time I had my dream come true, I went to college. I had a lot of good memories..." I didn't want to get into details so I waited for him to speak. "Okay then, I'll put two men for security... he said and I laughed.
"No one will come here, I promise you," I said and he patted my back. "Let me say goodbye to Xavier." He said and went inside. I went to the balcony where I saw the sunset. That's what is all about. The beautiful view is refreshing.
