I feel fingers touching my face.
"Do you want to repeat what happened yesterday?"
That same voice called out to me. My system was slowly being rebooted. I feel a wave of pleasure hit my head.
"Wake up Talulah." He called as he started tickling me.
"Stop it. Stop. It." I hissed as my eyes shoot open.
The strained feeling of opening your eyes too quickly kicked in. After blinking multiple times I saw Kaiser Rye in front of me.
"Don't you dare think about it." I pointed a finger at him. "Don't tell me I fell into another drunken stupor last night."
"You didn't." He responded with his bright smile. "Breakfast is ready. After that you want to go visit the Reunion?"
"Reunion? Weren't we there two months ago? I thought their city was supposed to leave Felizon." I slowly got out of the bed; my hair was a mess.
"Apparently both mayors agreed on letting the two places stay connected." Rye explained as he took the blanket away.
"So now they're coexisting? I hope the Reunion doesn't burn down this village." I mumbled as I took out a clean pair of clothes and headed for the bathroom.
"I am meeting up with Faust there for our little mission. Breakfast is in the kitchen." Rye hollered as he left the room.
As I turn on the shower a feeling of emptiness filled me.
Rye has multiple jobs...
I wonder if he is even capable of managing them?
He is probably trying to flaunt.
The warm water was pure bliss. I feel rejuvenated. That warm sensation inside was so good. As I run my fingers through my silky hair the feeling of fulfillment soared in. Perfect hair is an achievement after all.
I put on a simple yet flashy outfit before heading into the kitchen to kiss Rye goodbye before he left for work. Now it's time for me to spend the rest of my day peacefully, albeit the boredom amidst my idle actions
GRIIING!*
DING! DING! DING!*
I look to see my home phone ringing.
That horrid sound.
I pick up the phone and put it next to my ear.
"Hello?" I asked.
"Hey Talulah! Its my Haley!"
"Oh hi Haley why did you call me?" I asked as I took a seat on my couch.
"Well..." Haley had trouble formulating a response.
"What is it?"
"Well, some random guy showed up, and we're having a bit of trouble."
"Can't you deal with them yourself?" I ask as I turned my gaze to my window.
"Yeah... about that... none of our casters are strong enough to deal with him, so we need you to help us out."
"Decline."
"Come on Talulah, just this once! I promise!"
"No."
I closed my phone and turned on the television only to be bored beyond comprehension. The news spilled stories of crimes, weddings, and the number of Infected in each city. The reporter sounds like a bibulous person who forgot to wipe his face in the morning.
I went into the kitchen and poured myself a glass of water to quench my thirst. Most of my days amount to nothing except for the occasional chat with that annoying Sankta, or the occasional dinner in some restaurant with Rye, or the occasional dance with him in bed.
"Hey! Talulah are you in there!"
Why is Haley here?
I went back to my couch and tapped my face with my fingers in annoyance. I was hoping that after a few minutes she would leave, but I was hopelessly mistaken.
"Talulah! I know you're in there!" Haley called while the knocks became harder. "Stop trying to act like I'm not here."
I grumble and opened the door with a false countenance.
"Oh. Hey Haley." I apathetically greeted. I saw Lucas standing beside her. "Oh... Lucas you're here too."
"Yeah... The new guy really wants to meet you. He's a little crazy-" Haley began to say.
"I already told you that I'm not interested." I respond as I closed the door.
"He is a threat to the Reunion." Lucas' hand blocked the doorway. "And he held some of our members hostage."
"You two are more than capable of taking care of him."
As if I couldn't be any more irritated, Lucas took the door handle and forcefully pushed the door back.
"What do you think you're doing?" I glared.
"Our new addition has the exact same abilities as you. He is arrogant, but I think you can still beat him." Lucas states as his hand leaves the door.
"I already-"
"We just need you to exert your authority and your presence." Lucas implored. "After that we won't bother you."
"Let me guess. You won't leave unless I come with you?" I shook my head in annoyance.
"Pretty much." Haley replied.
"What a pain in the rear. Wait here." I walk into my armory and grab my sword and my spare keys before leaving the house.
I can't believe that they can't handle a trivial matter.
When we walked past the bridge to the city of Pastel we found multiple buildings with melted roofs. Lucas gave me a brief summary of who this new member was. His name is Huo-Jin and he has an entire team of people helping him.
The smell of burning fire pierced my nose, the shouts of people penetrated my eardrums. Can this 'Huo-Jin' cause that much trouble? The incident happened far away from the Reunion warehouse; I was hoping to end this earlier, but this day sure is nuisance.
"Is that all you got?!" A male voice. "Come on! Where is that woman!"
After we made it past a clearing I got a clear view of the intruder.
"Finally!" He exclaimed. He was wearing a simple plain T-shirt and jeans poorly covered with a blazer; he had Draco horns and a flat tail sprouting from his rear.
"So this is him?" I scoff as I stifle in a laugh.
"Hey! Over here bozo!" He called.
"Show him what you're made of." Lucas says as he and Haley moved behind me.
"Hey! You must be Talulah! I've been waiting ages to meet you." He hollered as I walked closer creating a twenty feet gap between us.
"Are you Huo-Jin?" I questioned as I stab my sword in the ground.
"Yeah. What did you here about me?" Huo-Jin asked as he stared at me.
"That you wanted to join the Reunion." I answered with a disinterested tone. "And that you wanted to meet me."
"That's right!" He pointed a finger in the air. "But I didn't really want to join the Reunion. I just needed to see you."
"Explain."
"I'm a traveling mercenary, and I'm gonna show the world that I'm the best in the land!" He boasted.
"This has to be a farce right?" I look over to where Lucas and Haley were standing.
"Hey! Take me seriously will you!" Huo-Jin vociferated as a ball of fire flew past me.
"That fireball was weak." I chuckled as I put my hand on the end of my sword. "Try again."
"Why you!" He used both hands and the surrounding buildings were slowly melting. "Don't you dare insult me you little shit!"
"Profanity." I waved my hand used my Arts to counteract his; the buildings stopped melting.
"How the fuck did you do that?" He looked around hoping to see his Arts in effect.
"You are clearly a novice." I snickered. "Why did you ask me to come here?"
"I saw you fight Jenkin before and I want to see how I spar in combat against you." He pointed a finger at me with a determined grin.
"You have to be kidding me." I covered face hiding my laugh. "You did all this just so for one game?"
"Yeah."
"Are you even Infected?" I inquired.
"No. I don't give two shits about sick people."
"Interesting."
Some Reunion soldiers gathered around the area clearly insulted by his remark.
"Yeah! Now are we gonna fight or what?" His hands were quickly engulfed in flames.
"Let's begin." I take my sword out of the ground.
He took off his blazer and threw it away. He then channeled his Arts into one large beam of fire.
"Weak." I close my eyes and use my Arts to make the flames vanish before hitting me.
"No fucking way!" He cursed as he launched another beam at me.
"Another one?" I raise my palm in front of me and catch the flames. I slowly close my hand into a fist causing them to disappear into thin air.
"AHHHH!" He charged at me with two fists covered in fire.
He tried to punch me, but I jumped backwards landing gracefully on my high heels. He proceeded to attack again this time two flames sprouted out of his back like wings.
I effortlessly dodged to my right and used my Arts to push him back.
"Hey! Fight like a man!" He roared.
"Oh I'm sorry." I replied with a derisive laugh. "I am but a simple woman."
I used my Arts in one large spell and knocked him on the ground. Small fires erupted on his clothes as he tried to stand up.
"I will not be insulted by an Infected BITCH!" He got up only to collapse.
"Your profanity really needs to be checked." I remark as I walk up to his smoldering body.
"Fucking Reunion. A bunch of pussies in hood." He cursed.
"On the contrary, we are far from cowards." I look at the Reunion audience. "Isn't that correct?"
"YEAH!" Everyone agreed in unison.
"Why you..." I stepped on his foot; the sounds of shattering bones and mangled flesh can be heard. "Ahhhhh!"
"You should be careful next time you encounter us." I say as a pool of blood spilled below me.
Then I stab my sword in his head. The crowd roared along with claps and encouraging stomps.
"Well done." Lucas and Haley walked up to me. I used my Arts to evaporate the blood on my heels and my sword.
"You two could've dealt with him yourselves." I say as I look at Huo-Jin's burning body.
"But you have proved to be the Reunion's true leader." Lucas explained as he took my hand.
He raised it up in the air as everyone from the Reunion was gathering closer.
"We have found ourselves a new leader!" He announced. "Talulah will lead us to victory against the ongoing struggle against the non-Infected!"
Everyone cheered. I removed my hand from Lucas' grasp.
"I didn't come here for a leadership position!" I hissed as my throat became sore all of a sudden.
"Now you have one." Lucas grinned. "Besides you were a top pick to begin with."
"I did not! Kah! Kuu!" My stomach churned again. My throat was tightening.
I put a hand on my throat, but it was useless. I hurled on the ground beside me.
"Oh my God! Talulah!" Haley shrieked. "Someone get a doctor over here!"
My throat was being scraped by a thousand knives. My stomach was beating me up from the inside. I hurled again; this time on my knees. My sword dropped beside me as I struggled to breathe.
"Where is the doctor!" Lucas yelled as a group of people rushed to my position.
Blood lined my vomit as I was trying to cover my mouth. Soon my vision turned black and I passed out.

BEEP!* BEEP!* BEEP!*
"She is going to be alright, Oripathy did not affect her major organs." Someone said.
I was slowly regaining consciousness. I feel so lightheaded.
Surprise!
Who said that?
I feel a hand touch my forehead. It was soft to the touch, but it wasn't Rye's. My eyes slowly opened; grit lined my eyelashes.
"Hold still." A wet towel dabbed my face removing the impurities.
"Where am I?" My lips were dry; my throat was parched.
"Don't worry Talulah you're in a hospital." Haley gave me a bright smile, she was accompanied by a large man in a lab coat.
"Who's he?" I asked as she helped me sit up on the bed.
"I'm Doctor Krume." He answered.
"Hi." I weakly replied as I looked around the room.
An IV tube was in my left arm, my finger-tip was connected to a heartbeat monitor, I was lying on an austere hospital bed with one large pillow behind me. A large computer was on a counter.The room had three different screens: One of them showed my bones, another showed the presence of Originium crystals, but the third one...
"You have been transported here by Miss Haley here." Doctor Krume states as he showed moved the hanging computer screens closer to me. "I inserted an IV tube and checked your throat when you were unconscious. Your internal organs are all good except for one."
One screen had a strange yellow blotch in it surrounded by a dark circle. I did not recognize what it was.
"What do you mean?" I questioned as I stared at the screen.
"Your vomit was most likely caused by this." He tapped on the screen and zoomed in.
"Yeah... you'll be surprised on what it is." Haley slowly crept out of the room.
"Where are you going?" I asked.
"I have to help Lucas with something." She left in a second.
"May I please have your attention Mrs. Talulah?" Doctor Krume asked as he zoomed into the screen again.
"Mrs.?" I questioned. "Don't call me that."
"My apologies, but this is what caused you to hurl." He pointed at one strange circle.
"What is it?" I asked as I lied back down on the bed.
"It's a future child." He replied.
"What?"
"You're pregnant Miss Talulah." He states.
Please tell me I'm dreaming.
"What?" I blurted out.
"You are pregnant Miss Talulah. Vomiting is an early sign of pregnancy. By the looks of it it seems like you've been pregnant for about two months."
Two months?
"I will let you rest now." Doctor Krume left the room leaving me to question my own sanity.
"So I'm pregnant now." I muttered to myself as I put a hand on top of my forehead.
You sure are...
"Who said that?" I ask only to be met with silence.
Its from inside you Talulah...
"How do you know my name?" I blurted out as my body began to tense up.
Congratulations! You will be a mother in the future!
That voice seemed to be mocking me and praising me at the same time. It sounded like me, but there was someone else behind it.
"What do you want?" I whispered hoping that no one could hear me.
Oh nothing. I didn't think that your marriage would reach this point so soon.
"How much-"
There is no need to speak aloud. I'm in your thoughts driven by your father.
"What?"
My father is dead.
Who exactly was behind this?
Yes that's true.
Spill it!
Now my head began to hurt.
I can't exactly tell you sweetie. You'll have to figure it out.
Get out of my head!
Sorry, but you're cursed to live with me inside you. I mean no harm...

"A child is more like a tumor than a gift." I sighed.
Its quite the contrary Talulah...
How did this even happen?
I will be helping you along the way as you lead the Reunion. For now take care of yourself and your child.
"What?" The voice disappeared within a heartbeat.
So the cereal didn't cause the vomit.
It was a child.
Now I'm pregnant with Rye's child. Our child.
What shall I do?
