Y/N was in his room getting a little bit of rest after a long day's work and was speaking to his symbiotic friend.
"Well this has been enjoyable so far" Venom said as he peered out of Y/N's shoulder.
Y/N nodded as he laid back with his hands behind his head and his legs crossed "Yeah no kidding"
"I also couldn't help but notice that you've turned your quip-o-meter up to maximum"
Y/N chuckled as he looked at the Klyntar right in the eyes "We've been bonded for nearly 25 years, you should know that jokes, quips and puns are part of my daily routine."
"Believe me I know, it's made me wish I didn't have ears."
"You wound me.......... Parasite" Y/N teasingly says which enrages Venom.
"Fuck you" Venom grows out of Y/N's torso and attempts to punch him but Y/N bolts his head to the side to avoid the punch and instead delivers one of his own.
"Great so I get insulted and I get punched." Venom clicks his jaw slightly where he was punched.
"Now you know how my enemies feel."
"I pity them......... If the work ever dries up though you should definitely consider a career change into torture where it's just you talking"
Y/N winces a little "I'd always thought I'd go into organ donation, then just grow 'em back. I could literally sleep on a bed full of money then. " He suggests.
"Ooooh that is a good idea"
There is suddenly a knock at the door and Venom retreats inside of Y/N "Who is it?" Y/N calls
"It's Steve"
Y/N was now in his red and black suit then walked to the door and opened it "What can I do for you, Cap?"
"Now there's the suit I remember" He smiled at Y/N.
"You're one to talk Uncle Sam." Y/N walked out of the room and shut the door behind him as he and Steve started walking down one of the many hallways of the Helicarrier
Steve chuckled to himself as he put his hand on Y/N's shoulder "Who'd have thought two old guys like us would still be going strong after all this time" he joked.
"Old? I'm not old!" Y/N had a mini tantrum which made Steve chuckle.
"You're thirty years older than I am" Steve pointed out.
"Yeah well I don't age whereas you do so I'd say I'm winning if we're playing the old card." The two shared a small laugh "So what's life been like coming out of the ice?"
Steve nervously chuckles "Uhh strange to say the least. The world's changed a lot since I was last awake."
"I suppose it has BUT the more things change, the note they stay the same." Y/N points out to Steve
"How do you mean?" Steve asks Y/N.
"The world around might have changed but the people most certainly have not" Y/N clarifies. "I'm sure you'll get the grasp of that eventually" Those words stick with Steve.
"Hopefully, it's been really difficult to adjust to all the technology and everything. I feel a little out of my depth, even being on board here feels odd." Steve admits to Y/N
"Don't worry Cap, I can literally give you a crash course of what you've missed."
"I'd appreciate that" Steve says however there's something on his mind along with everyone else's that he would like to know "Can I ask you a personal question?" As he abruptly stops leaning against a wall.
"Shoot" Y/N also stops and stands a couple of feet down from him.
"What's the deal with you and Romanoff? I mean she seemed to dislike you before you even got on the Quinjet." There was a look of genuine curiousity on his face.
"I ran into her and Robin Hood-" Steve quickly interrupts just to clarify something
"You mean Agent Barton?"
"Yeah, I met them both in Prague a couple of years ago. We both wanted information from a major drug dealer. I got there first and we ended up having a little scrimmage because I wouldn't give them what they wanted"
Steve looked a bit bemused by what he'd heard "That's it!?"
Y/N nodded and shifted his head to the side a little "Well it didn't help that I was consistently flirting with her and really badly messed them up, only to give me information afterwards."
"Hmmm I still think there's more to it than that." Steve looked unconvinced and made his opinion known to Y/N.
"Well that's my side of the story. Even with my mouth, I can't speak for her." Y/N said as he continued on his way with Steve closely following behind.
Steve decided it was best to leave that conversation where it was as the pair entered the lab that Tony and Bruce were in to see the former jabbing the latter in the side with a miniature electrical prod causing a small yelp of pain from Bruce.
Steve looked thoroughly pissed at Tony "Hey! Are you nuts!?"
"Banner's got a real lid on it, I kind of have to respect the way he does it" Y/N said as he took a seat in a revolving chair.
Tony ignored Cap " but hat's your secret Banner? Mellow jazz? Bongo drums? Huge bag of weed?"
Y/N laughed at the last part as Bruce glared at him "Don't you dare" The pair were thinking the same thing of when they met.
"Hey my lips are sealed" Y/N said
"Is everything a joke to you!?" Steve angrily asked Tony
Tony shook his head "Really Cap, you're asking me that question when Y/N is sitting right there" He pointed at the man who was playing with some of the science equipment.
"Hey don't involve me, I'm not the one trying to provoke Bruce" Y/N defended himself
"Thank you Y/N, see at least someone else knows that threatening the safety of everyone on this ship isn't funny." He then turns to Bruce still holding a harsh expression "No offence Bruce."
"None taken, I wouldn't have come aboard if I couldn't handle pointy things."
Y/N grabbed his swords off his back and jokingly thrusted them at Bruce who didn't react "Yep, he can handle pointy things" Steve gave him a 'stop right now' look as Y/N put his swords back.
Tony looks at Bruce "You're tiptoeing big man, you need to strut." He says whilst doing a small demonstration.
"I always strut and look at me vroom living my best life" Y/N does an arm thrust.
"You need to focus on the problem, Mr Stark" Captain America warned clearly sick of Tony.
Stark looks offended by what Cap has said to him "You think I'm not? Why did Fury call us and why now? Why not before? What isn't he telling us? I can't do the equation unless I have all the variables."
Steve thinks about what Tony is saying "You think Fury's hiding something?"
Tony chuckles a little "He's a spy. Captain, he's the spy. His secrets have secrets." He then points to Bruce "It's bugging him too, isn't it?"
Bruce looks anxious to get himself involved in Cap and Tony's argument however Y/N Interjects "Might as well lay all your cards on the table now, Green day."
Bruce sighed deciding to let his opinion be known "A warm for light for all of mankind, Loki's jab at Fury about the cube" Bruce explained, Steve was the only one who heard Fury confronting Loki "I think it was a dig at you" Bruce pointed to Tony "Even if Barton didn't post that all over the news."
"The Stark Tower?" Steve says with a slightly disgusted look on his face
"Don't say it Rogers, don't say it" Y/N whispered to himself
"You mean that big ugly" Tony gives him an irritated look however he continues anyways looking at Tony whilst he says it "building in New York?
Y/N face palms "He said it" Venom said.
Banner explains the science explanation about Stark Tower "It's powered by Stark Reactors, self- sustaining energy source. That building will run itself for what, a year?"
"My brain feels as if it's being literally fucked by all this talk" Y/N says, the others pay him no attention.
Tony brags slightly to the others "That's just the prototype. I'm kind of the only name in clean energy right now." He has a cocky smile on his face.
Banner points to Tony "So, why didn't SHIELD bring him in on the Tesseract project? I mean, what are they doing in the energy business in the first place?"
"Weapons" Venom said
"What are you talking about?" Y/N mentally asked his symbiotic friend as he tuned out the others conversation.
"Think about it, when Carnage and I came to this planet, it was unprepared for off world threats. All these years later and the story is still the same. Nick said the Tesseract had the potential energy to wipe out the planet, but what if it could wipe out other worlds." Venom explained and suddenly it all made sense to Y/N as he berated himself for not realising that earlier.
"I don't rate your intelligence highly enough sometimes" Y/N complimented
"What can I say, I'm a genius" Venom arrogantly states.
Y/N tuned himself back into the other's argument "I think Loki's trying to wind us up. This is a man who means to start a war, and if don't stay focused, he'll succeed."
"I prefer a straight up fight, rather get down to blood and bones of it." Y/N said as Bruce grimaced a little at the thought.
"We don't need to get into a fight if we can avoid it." Steve looked to him for back up.
Y/N did kind of an 'eh' expression "Steve we" Y/N pointed to himself and Steve "are not here to help the modern day Einsteins. We're here for the inevitability of a fight." Steve quietened down after that, Y/N was right. He was a super soldier, the reason he was here was all in his title.
Tony then attempted to rub salt in the wound "Of the people in this room, which one is; A. wearing a spangly outfit, and B. not of use?" Steve did look offended by that as Tony smirked knowing he'd succeeded in what he wanted to achieve.
Y/N and Bruce looked at both Steve and Tony who were glaring at each other before Bruce spoke "Steve, remember what you told Natasha. Whatever issues you have, put it to the side"
Venom then said to Y/N "I wonder if that's to do with you." Y/N raised his eyebrows with intrigue.
Steve realised his own words were being used against him "Just find the Cube" He then turned and walked out of the lab.
"I can't believe that's the guy who my dad would never shut up about! I wonder why they didn't keep him on ice" Tony irritatedly said to Y/N and Bruce.
"You know I am getting some real negative vibes from almost everyone on board. It's depressing being surrounded by a ship full of Eeyores." Y/N said earning a small laugh from Tony and Bruce who went back to doing his work.
"Well we can't all have positive attitudes like you" Bruce teased Y/N.
Tony took this time to notice Y/N's different suit "By the way cool suit Y/N. I can't decide who looks better in red, me or you"
Y/N huffed "Yeah am I like your idol or something seeing as you stole my colour"
"Hey I'd never even heard of you until yesterday."
"Well your suit is metal so it's bulky wherss mine hugs all of my curves and assets, it means my milkshake is bringing all the boys to the yard." Y/N flaunts himself as he does a little dance.
"And their like it's better than yours, damn right it's better than yours" Venom sings the end of the chorus.
Bruce pleads with Y/N "Please stop doing that"
"Oh come on Bruce, I'll give you mates rates. Thirty dollars for a three minute dance"
"Y/N we have a Tesseract to find" Bruce flatly says as he looks at some statistics on an interactive board.
"Ok I'll get out of your hair but I noticed you didn't turn down the dance" Y/N picks up a piece of paper and scrunched it into a ball as he heads out the lab "Kobe!" Y/N yells as he throws a paper ball into a bin about twelve feet away watching as it enters the bin. Y/N throws his hands up in the air.
"And he nails it from way downtown!" Venom commentated.
"I couldn't help but notice how you glared at Y/N after I mentioned the huge bag of weed." Tony teasingly says as they watch Y/N go.
Bruce's face drops as he turns a bit red "I'd rather not reminisce about that"
