I sigh in disappointment as I see Kepa give the ball away to Sadio Mane, leaving Liverpool with a 2-0 lead. I shake my head as I see Kepa's face and know just how embarrassed and disappointed in himself he is. I sigh and switch the TV off, knowing damn well that with 10 men, Chelsea weren't gonna come back and win, let alone draw the game.
I get up and decide to take a bath whilst I wait for Kepa to get home, knowing I'm going to have to comfort him after what just happened. I get my bath water ready and eventually hop in and relax until I hear the front door open, knowing that Kepa was home.
I knew he was disappointed as he didn't shout that he was home like he normally does. I get out of my bath and dry myself and pulling one of Kepa's hoodies over my body to warm myself up. I open the bathroom door to see that Kepa wasn't even in our bedroom. I walk down stairs and look in the TV room to see Kepa sitting on the couch with his head in his hands.
"Babe." I softly say as he looks up at me. His eyes are bloodshot as I walk over to him and sit next to him, immediately wrapping my arms around him "It's gonna be okay." I say but knowing it won't mean much to him right now. "I could lose my position." He says in between sobs as he grips onto the hoodie I'm wearing. "Well babe, if you do, it's Chelsea's loss." I say but he shakes his head and pulls away from me.
"Is it really? I've been playing like a 13 year old boy who was throwing into the goal keeping position by force." He says causing me to chuckle slightly. "You've made a few mistakes babe but you're humans. That's exactly what humans do." I say as I run my hand on his arm comfortingly. "Well, these mistakes are gonna cost me my job." He says as he looks down. "Hey, look at me." I say as I place my index finger under his chin.
I lift his head up as I stare into his eyes, "In the end babe, whether you stay at Chelsea or you move, you'll be alright and you will have a job. A first team job, okay?" I question him as he nods and wraps me up in a hug once again. "I love you." He whispers causing my eyes to shoot open.
We've been dating for almost 6 months but we both never said that we loved each other as we wanted to wait for the right moment where the person really did mean it. Kepa realizes what he just said as he pulls away and shakes his head, "I'm so sorry. Ugh, tonight isn't my night, is it?" He questions making me chuckle lightly. He looks at me, frowning as I caress his cheek with my thumb, wiping away a tear that fell from his bloodshot eye.
"Well, I hope tonight gets better after me saying this..." I trail off as I look him in the eye, not breaking eye contact, "I love you too, Kepa Arrizabalaga." I say with confidence as I see new tears fall from his eyes. "Hey, what's wrong?" I question as I hug him once again. "I'm so happy I met you. You really are my life, Y/N." he says as he sobs into the crook of my neck. "Aww, babe. You're my world too. If I never met you, to be fair, I gave no clue what I'd be doing right now." I say as I pull away and caress his cheek once again.
"Come, let's get some sleep." I say as I stand up and extend my hand out to him. He smiles slightly at me as he grabs my hand and stands up, towering over me. Before I could turn around and walk away, Kepa's hands grab my waist and pull me close as he places his lips on mine for a sweet kiss. As sweet as the kiss is, it is filled with passion as I taste some of his salty tears on my lips.
I pull away as kiss his cheek softly. "Let's go loverboy." I say as I get off of my tippy toes and grab his hand and walk with him to our shared bedroom. I jump on the bed and let out a yawn, "God damn! I'm so tired." I say which earns a soft chuckle from Kepa. He quickly grabs himself a pair of grey sweatpants and a white hoodie that I loved. He puts his clothes on and gets into his side of the bed.
He switches off his bedside lamp as the darkness engulfs us. I feel his large hands wrap around my waist as he carefully pulls me close to him. I wrap my arms around his neck as I stare up at him. The light from the moon help me see a little bit of my very handsome boyfriend. "Goodnight babe." I say as I kiss his nose. "Goodnight beautiful." He says as he places his lips on mine for a quick kiss.
I nuzzle my head into his neck as the warmth from his body makes me feel whole. "I love you." He softly says as I feel his lips on my forehead. "I love you too." I say as I kiss his neck softly. Before I knew it, I heard Kepa's soft snores echo in the room, making me happy knowing the man I loved felt safe and loved in my arms.
