Part 3 to the Our Happy Life series!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~Keigo’s POV~
I smile, helping (Y/N) back into the house after she got discharged from the hospital, making sure she was comfortable. We barely got into the door before the boys started crying. (Y/N) walks to the couch, which I had put back together at her request, before grabbing the bos from their carriers, lifting up her shirt and carefully maneuvering the boys so they could both feed.
I respectfully look away, getting the rest of the stuff into he house with Dabi’s help. Once we had everything settled, Dabi and I were each handed a baby to burp while (Y/N) got herself sorted out, bustling about the house while muttering to herself.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It’s been about six months since the boys were born and things around the home are quite hectic. Dabi and I returned to our normal work schedules, leaving (Y/N) to tend to the twins by herself. I hated to do this to her but the money wouldn’t make itself. Reporters, of course, were all over the news that me and my wife, as she was known to the media, now had two children to take care of.
“Hawks, how would you say home life is now?”
“Is your work harder with the knowledge that your children are home?”
“No comment, now buzz off.” I muttered with a death glare to the reporters before I flew off, my eyes scanning over the city, seeing if there were any villain attacks.
The work day flew by, no pun intended, rather quickly with very little incidents before I was able to go home. I fly in through the balcony door, shutting it behind me. I see (Y/N) cooking dinner while Dabi entertains the children.
“Hey Keigo.” She says, breaking for a moment to give me her normal kiss on the cheek. I smile.
“Hey love. Let me help. I’ll set the table.” I say, not wanting her to overwork herself. She smiles and thanks me, plating the food before handing the plates to me to set on the table.
“Sit down love, I got it from here.” I say, pouring a glass of milk for everyone and setting it at the table. (Y/N) places the twins in their swings so they could sleep during dinner. Dabi helps, having already given them their bottles and burped them.
“Alright, let’s eat.” (Y/N) says, sitting down at the table. I sit in my normal spot and look at her, noticing the eyebags and other noticeable signs of fatigue.
She hasn’t slept a wink since the twins were born. She’s been so focused on trying to get things back to ‘normal’ that she’s completely forgotten to take care of herself. Not on my watch. That’s it, I’m going to talk to Dabi about treating our dear (Y/N) to a nice spa day. We can watch the kids.
I nod to myself and start eating, giving Dabi a look sayin we needed to talk after dinner. He nodded back, eating his food.
“It’s delicious, lovebird. Like always.” I compliment, smiling at her. She gives a weak smile, twirling the noodles on her plate absentmindedly. I sigh softly and go back to my food, hoping we could help (Y/N) get back into the swing of things with a day of relaxation.
After dinner, Dabi and I washed the dishes and put away the food while (Y/N) went about her nightly routine of changing the twins’ diapers and getting them ready for bed.
“Dabi… I know we don’t normally agree on much, but can we agree that our lovebird needs a break? She’s working herself to death.”
“I agree with that.” He says simply.
“I say we treat her to a spa day. We can take a day off to care for our children while she gets treated like a queen. And you can cook her a nice meal for dinner that night while I care for the twins.”
“Sounds good.” Dabi says, drying the dishes that I washed.
“Good, I’ll schedule an appointment for her at the highest end spa. You gotta plan the dinner.” I say, finishing up the dishes. He nods, drying the last dish then tossing me the towel to dry my hands.
I go onto the balcony and call the spa, scheduling an appointment for next week to make it less suspicious. (Y/N) walks out of the nursery, stretching and yawning.
“I’m beat, I’m gonna head to bed.” She says. I nod.
“We all should.” I say, walking to the bedroom with her. I helped her change into her favorite nightgown, letting Dabi massage her back before we all cuddled together in bed, (Y/N) in the middle while Dabi took the side closest to the door.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The next week flew by quickly and before we knew it, it was spa day for (Y/N). I gently shake her awake.
“Lovebird. I hate to disturb your sleep, but you have an appointment.”
“Hmm? I didn’t know I had an appointment.” She says groggily.
“I set it up. Today is a special day for you.” I say, helping her get dressed.
“Oh yeah, wear the ‘wedding ring’ you'll be out in public.” I say. She slips on the ring, yawning.
“Where is this appointment?”
“I’ll be flying you there. So, put this on.”
“The babies-”
“Dabi and I will take care of them.” I say, lifting her into my arms carefully before flying to the spa. (Y/N) clings to me, gripping my jacket tightly. I land and set her down on the ground. I led her into the spa, the receptionist recognizing me.
“Mr. Hawks! It’s a pleasure! What can I do for you sir?”
“I have an appointment for this lovely young lady.”
“Oh, your wife sir?”
“Yes.”
“What’s going on, Keigo-” (Y/N) says, taking off the blindfold. She looks around, her jaw dropped.
“Keigo, no. I have to tend to the babies.”
“I can handle it. You need a day off honey. Now, relax and enjoy your spa day.”
“You better not burn down the house.”
“I won’t. Now, have fun love. Here’s my card.After your appointment is done, go to the mall, I’ve arranged transportation. Get yourself something nice.” I say, kissing her forehead.
“You deserve this.” I whisper into her ear. She blushes.
“F-fine… just be careful with the babies.” She says.
“I will. Relax love.” I reassure her, walking out of the spa and flying off.
Dabj greeted me with a crying twin, the oldest who was named Levi.
"When did they start crying?" I ask, seeing Dabi was holding Lance.
"Shortly after you left." He says.
"They're not hungry and I already changed them." He says, cutting me off before I could say anything.
"Let me try something." I say, setting them both on the couch and fluffing up my wings.
"Look at daddy!" I say, earning the twins focus. They continued screaming before I covered myself with my wings. Their cries settled down before I moved my wings.
"Peek-a-boo!" I say, earning a giggle from the boys. I repeat this, hiding behind my wings and popping out. After a few tries, once I was sure they were done crying, I tickled their noses with the very ends of my wings, smiling.
"See? We've got this." I say to Dabi. He smiles a rare smile and nods, sitting next to the twins on the couch. They clapped their hands and giggled, reaching for Dabi’s piercings.
"Beware, they love shiny objects." I warn.
"Sounds like you, bird brain." Dabi jokes, looking at me. I chuckle and grab one of my feathers, kneeling next to the couch. I tickled Levi, chuckling when he giggled, squirming.
"Your quirk is almost made to handle babies bird brain." Dabi states. I roll my eyes.
"These feathers are dangerous under the right circumstances." I say, now tickling Lance.
After a couple hours, the boys decided to finally wind down. Dabi held them both on his chest, using his quirk to keep them warm while they drifted off to sleep.
"Good job. Looks like your quirk is perfect for babies too."
"Also great for heating up bottles." He jokes. I chuckle and shake my head, watching Dabi while he fondly gazed upon the twins.
"They're perfect… I just hope… I hope I'll be the father they need." He says softly.
"Hey, you're a great father… you're not like your father. You are kind, well, when you want to be. And look, you've got them to sleep on you within ten minutes. You've got this." I say softly, trying to reassure my partner.
"Besides… We've both gotta better ourselves, especially our relationship with each other, if this whole parenting thing is gonna work out." I whisper. Dabi nods.
"Truce?"
"Truce." We agree, shaking hands.
"Shoot, it's almost dinner time. Here, let's put them in their swings and get dinner started." I say, realizing the time. Dabi nods, carefully handing me Lance while he took Levi to his swing. I carefully lay Lance in his swing, humming softly to keep him asleep.
I watched as Dabi prepared dinner, watching his technique and seeing how he did everything.
Soon enough, dinner was at the table an (Y/N) walked through the door, looking a lot better than she did before her spa day.
“The house is still intact… good job boys.” She says softly, noticing the sleeping babies. She sets down her bags, walking up to me and Dabi.
“Thank you both… I needed that.” She whispers.
“You’re welcome lovebird. If you ever need a day off like that, just say so. Dabi and I can handle things here.”
“Tempting offer.” She says, smiling. I lead her to her seat and pull it out for her. She sits down and I push her back in. I sat myself across from Dabi, waiting for him and (Y/N) to start eating before I did anything.
