Ok so I decided this wasn't up to my standards and so I went back and rewrote or extended all of the little one shots in this chapter. Some I just made the format better, others I completely rewrote and added dialogue
Beck and jade really weren't one for sappy celebrations, beck loved big celebrations and surprises but jade hated large celebrations and surprises in general there were however a few holidays and special days they celebrated together every year
February 8th-the day before becks birthday
"Babe wake up" jade said as she prodded her boyfriends shoulder
"What?" He questioned groggily rubbing at his eyes to try to wake himself up
"It's your birthday, well, almost birthday"
A wide smile spread across his face in realization. Every year he and jade celebrated his birthday the day before just the two of them since beck was always busy with family on his actually birthday
"Open your present" she said eagerly pushing the wrapped gift towards him
She usually wasn't one to love birthdays- she certainly didn't love hers but his was an exception. She had grown to tolerate them after being with him for so long. He made a big deal about birthdays, his or anyone else's
Beck carefully unwrapped the small box wrapped in blue paper. Once he had gotten all the paper, inside the box he found the watch he had been eyeing for months now, planning to buy it for himself once he'd saved up enough
"Woah jade, this is too much. You shouldn't have spent that much. Seriously" he stammered trying to hand it back to her
"Oh cmon beck it was nothing, I've got nothing else to spend all my stupid fathers money on" she insisted buckling it around is left wrist
"Ok, if you're sure" he added admiring it
The rest of the day was spent lazing around his RV just the two of them, until it was dinner time
They went out to becks favorite steakhouse to enjoy a romantic dinner and then after swung by Frank's cupcakes on the way home to pick up their yearly tradition
For the last three years they'd been dating they'd made it a tradition that on the night before his birthday at midnight theyd both have a double chocolate cupcake from Frank's cupcakes together
"Ok it's 11:58. Get ready" beck said grabbing the two plates with the chocolate desserts on them, setting them both on the small table he had in his RV. One in front of him, the other in front of jade
"Ok it's midnight." Jade reported after watching her phone for the last couple minutes
"Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear beck happy birthday to you" she sang smiling as he just sat and basked in the sound of her voice
"Happy birthday baby, I love you" she said leaning over the table to give him a gentle kiss before they both took a bite of their own
Jade sat back satisfied after they'd finished their cupcakes, knowing she'd always get to wish him a happy birthday before any one else
February 14th-valentines day
The first actual day of the year they usually celebrated together was Valentine's Day. Jade really hated Valentine's Day because of how cliche it is and how many other people celebrate it whether they'd been together for 1 day or 1 year. she jut really didn't like it
another reason for her hate is because when her and beck broke up for the second time it was two weeks before Valentine's Day and it was the first one in 3 years she'd spent alone and miserable missing him
Beck loved Valentine's Day because it was an excuse to spoil jade. It was also a day of him trying to make up for the year they were broken up which she still held a strong grudge for.
He learned their first year together not to get her flowers unless you wanted to see them be chopped up, don't get chocolates because then she'll think you're calling her fat. She did however like the black teddy bear with big black shiny eyes that beck bought her their second year and it still sat on the edge of her bed.
Jade never knew what to buy beck because he wasn't really into candies or chocolates. Whenever she asked him what he wanted he always said "for you to be my valentine" followed by a goofy grin, which usually resulted in her calling him a sap
July 4th- Fourth of July
"You almost ready to go?" Beck asked jade as he stood in front of his bed packing their beach bag
Tonight they were going to the beach for a bonfire and then to see fire works later. It was always blazing hot in LA by July so had to go later in the evening with the rest of the gang and some other kids from school
"Yeah, I guess so" jade shrugged trudging out from the bathroom after changing into her bathing suit for later
"You ok?" He asked tentatively, sensing the lack of enthusiasm in her voice
"Yeah let's just go" she said brushing past him to grab the bag and head out the door
Beck had no choice but to shrug it off. He still made the mental note to keep an eye on her while they were there
She seemed to be enjoying herself while they all ate and splashed around in the water but when tori announced that it was time to settle in and watch the fire works beck could see her visibly tense up
"Let's go home" jade announced to beck grabbing his hand to leave
"Woah woah woah, why?" He asked stopping in his tracks
"Cause" she said stepping closer to him and dropping voice to almost a whisper "I don't want any of these losers knowing that- that I'm afraid of fire works"
Beck wanted to laugh, he was about to since he never knew that someone as fearless as her could be scared of something as simple as fireworks but he didn't laugh because he knew then she wouldn't trust him enough to tell him important things
"Oh, that's ok, well..." he said awkwardly looking between the crowded part of the beach with tori still beckoning them to join them all and the quieter part of the beach with only a few older couples "how about we sit over there, just the two of us" he finally said pointing to the quieter side
Jade hesitated still looking nervous before quietly making her way over
Once their blanket was all set up on the ground beck sat down Pulling jade to sit with him and lean against his side. After she was comfortable beck draped his arm over her shoulders to pull her closer
Once the fireworks started popping in the air beck could feel jade jump and then tense up in his arms
"It's ok" he whispered reassuringly tightening his embrace on her
Slowly as the firework show went on he could feel her opening up more, she stopped jumping and was now watching them pop in the sky
All he could focus on was them in their own little world. Just him and her surrounded by beautiful fireworks. It was almost magic
"I love you" he whispered placing a kiss on the side of her head
"I love you too" she whispered back
July 26th- jade's birthday
For jades birthday they would spend the whole day together since her family really wasn't the greatest, and usually couldn't care less. Beck would spend the day driving them around going to wherever jade wanted to go, doing whatever hade wanted to do. That usually meant an early movie, dinner at which ever place she felt like (usually somewhere a little fancy) and some shopping all of course beck would buy. He never even tried to buy her presents before so when she shopped she was pretty much just picking her own presents. But that was the way she preferred. It was a good way of showing how much he loved her and a good way of her receiving all the love
October 19th- their anniversary
In early October it was the anniversary of the day jade finally accepted his many attempts to date her.
Beck had one tradition for their anniversary which was buying either her or the both of them matching pieces of jewelry like a necklace or rings because for their one year anniversary beck bought them simple matching promise rings that they wore almost every day
For their second anniversary he got them matching gold ring necklaces on black string
For their third he got matching necklaces; a lock on a silver chain for her and a key necklace for him, because he knew he'd always have the key to her heart. She said it was way too cheesy but she still loved them.
For their most recent anniversary he got a small pair of gold scissors on a gold chain necklace for her. She usually bought him a chain or a chain for his jeans but one year she bought him a fancy watch for a change which he absolutely loved
October 31sr- Halloween
After spending the entire month watching a horror movie every night it was finally Halloween night so jade and beck were cuddled up on her bed ready to watch all three scissorings in a row
Beck had such a low tolerance to horror movies it pained jade, he didn't like any of the gore or blood that they were always full of, so in turn they watched one every night for the month to try to build becks tolerance a little higher
"Ready" she asked holding the remote ready to press play for the scissoring 1
They were sitting in her bed surrounded by snacks and a box of Halloween candy
"As I'll ever be"
They were only about fifteen minutes in when there was a knock on the front door, they were the only ones home so jade got up grumbling to open it
Beck followed closely after grabbing their box of candy knowing what was coming
"What." She said flinging open the door, clearly pissed off that they were interrupted
"Trick or treat!" Shouted one of the three little kids holding his bag out for her to fill with candy
Jade wrinkled her nose at the sight of three little kids dressed as super man, belle and a witch
"I don't have any candy" she spat out, going to slam the door on them only to be stopped by beck who gladly filled their three bags before telling them to be safe and calmly shutting the door after they left
"You have away our candy!" She said shocked and more mad than before
"Yeah it's Halloween.." beck said trying to figure out the point jade was trying to make
"That's for us!"
"Babe they're kids, we can get more candy some other time. This is an exciting night for them" he said kissing the side of her head before leaving the candy box by the door and starting to head back upstairs, only to be stopped by the doorbell ringing
Jade watched in shock as her own boyfriend complimented the kids' costumes and gave away more candy
"Okay no more!" She yelled heading to get a piece of paper, a marker and some tape
On the paper she wrote:
NO CANDY. DONT KNOCK OR YOULL DIE
And then went and stuck it to the outside of the door
Beck shot her a look once he caught sight of what the paper said
She just shrugged and pulled him back upstairs to finish watching the movies
There were no more knocks for the rest of the night
December 31st- New Year's Eve
finally at the very end of the year they would celebrate the new year at becks place with a kiss at midnight
Updated AN: so I decided I needed to fix this one, I think they're better now. I'm also thinking of making a separate one shot book for bade, there would be some just of them, some with kids. That kinda thing
