a lot of the time klaus was in a deep state of sadness, in which was from him trying to get over his addictions and his ptsd. it was important to you to constantly be there for him during these prolonged periods of time and that you would do almost anything to make klaus feel better. you would comfort him by allowing him to delve into your arms and let him cry on your shoulder, no matter how messy it got. to klaus it was more about you just being there to hold him and letting him vent rather than tending to his needs. it hurt you to see him this way, but you knew that to him you were the only way he could overcome his pain.
whenever you got upset klaus also made sure that he would be there for whatever you needed. he would cradle you in his arms and wipe the tears off your face. he would kiss your forehead gently, in which would usually calm you down. klaus always made sure you spoke up about your feelings because he knew that you would keep them to yourself if you could. he wouldnt leave your side until he knew you were feeling better since he hated seeing you so upset.
