AN// hi guys!! i just recently published a short story book and it would mean the world if you could go check it out :) i've got two up so far <3 i hope you like this chapter its a little bit of a filler but that's okay xx

(y/n pov)

"You know what, I just might be becoming a morning person," you said, stretching with Gray this time. He laughed.

"Nah, I don't think so." You rolled your eyes and he rolled out his shoulders before tilting his head. "Wanna go another way this time?" he asked. You smiled.

"Sure, lead the way." You began walking with him. "The sun isn't even up yet, it's still dark."

"When we get there, it'll probably just be rising so it'll be perfect." You smiled as you breathed in the morning air. You passed by Ethan's house and you glanced at it. "I'm gonna redo their fences," he said. You looked up.

"Their fences?" He nodded. "Wow, look at you go."

"I'm excited; I've never done things like that before." You smiled. "By the way-- your desk? Just needs to be stained." You smiled.

"Can't wait." He rolled his eyes.

"Don't lie-- you don't even care." You laughed, shaking your head.

"I am!" you defended. "I bet it looks great, with all your little shelves." He clapped.

"They look great-- but you can't see it yet." You smiled. "But yeah-- because apparently, Cam's baby shower's at E's place now? So he wants everything to look nice."

"They're hosting?" Gray nodded. "So we won't have to fly out to Jersey after all, then." He nodded.

"Yeah, everyone's flying here." You smiled. "So, I'm getting wood tonight and getting started."

"When's the babyshower?"

"Week after the next." You nodded. "Careful-- log." You took his hand and stepped over it. You were in a woodsy area today, and it was true-- everything they said about trees. Your mind was almost instantly clear. "I do want to go back to New Jersey soon, though." You nodded, agreeing with him.

"Yeah, my parents wanted to see us." He raised his eyebrows. "Mhm, so there's that-- and also, I might have to go to another thing for work."

"Yeah?" You sighed, nodding. "What for?"

"They're changing some stuff up-- I know I have a meeting in a few weeks over zoom, but I have a feeling there'll be one in person that I might have to go to." He nodded, hands in his pockets as he kicked a rock.

"Let me know when that is and we can just go then." You nodded. "This is so nice," he whispered after some time of silence.

"Walking?" He nodded. "Yeah, I think so too."

"It's so quiet- it's like the world is asleep." He smiled to himself. "It's nice to come alone too, when you listen to music and stuff, it's really, really, peaceful." You smiled.

"Then why'd you ask me to come?" you asked, staring at the sunrise. It was beautiful. You felt him press a kiss to your cheek, lips lingering a little longer than usual as he pulled away.

"Because it's ten times better with you."

---

"I told you," you sighed, staring at his bruising thumb. He shrugged as you iced it. "I told you a gazillion times not to go."

"We skateboard all the time, y/n, it's fine." You shook your head, staring at his bruise. "I also scraped my kn--"

"Grayson!" He laughed a little as you pushed up his shorts. "Oh frick, we have to clean this-- Gray you're bleeding!"

"I know, it doesn't even hurt-- I'm just limping a little," he said, limping next to you as you headed up to the bathroom.

"This is, what, your second injury?" you asked. He smiled. "How are you gonna build those damn shelves with a bruised thumb, huh?" He frowned as he sat up on the counter, letting you dab at his knee.

"It'll be fine," he said with a nod. "I'm mostly done with those anyway." You rolled your eyes as you cleaned his scab and bandaged it as he iced his thumb.

"You're not working on that for a few days," you warned. He let out a sigh. You bent down and pressed a kiss to his knee and he chuckled. "You literally made me last time," you mumbled as he swung his feet.

"Yeah, I was about to make you but you did it on your own." You smiled and rolled your eyes as he got down from the counter. You put all of your stuff away, scolding him.

"I told you so many times not to go-- that ramp you built is literally on a slant, and not the way it's supposed to, Gray."

"I'll rebui--"

"Like hell you are, with that thumb." He chuckled. "Don't even think about teaching Elle this crap when she's older-- I heard E wanted to and absolutely not, as her aunt, I refuse to let that little girl get hur--"

"Y/N," he said, taking your face in his good hand. You looked up at him and he pressed a soft kiss to your lips. You blushed as you pulled away. "I'm fine."

"Right, yeah," you whispered. He smiled as he rolled out his ankle. "Go to bed and stay there, I'll bring you some of the salad I made for lunch." He grinned.

"Wow, thank you." You rolled your eyes.

You brought him some salad and he looked up from his phone with a pout. "What happened?" He showed you the screen and it was a little baby, body lost in his and E's merch. "Awh," you cooed.

"Someone dressed their child in our merch." You smiled, kneeling on the bed as he flicked through the pictures. "Y/N-- look at this."

"He's cute," you said with a smile. Gray smiled and shook his head as he picked up his bowl. You sat properly.

"Babies are so cute," he sighed. "I love babies."

"I know you do." You got up, ready to leave before things got too awkward. He sighed, picking at his food.

"They're so small, when Elle was born, she fit in one arm!" You smiled. "Fucking hell, I have baby fever now." You smiled.

"Well, stop looking at babies then," you suggested. He rolled his eyes at you. "I'm gonna go see if E's alright, yeah?"

"E's fine-- he hit his head."

"His head?" Gray nodded, shewing.

"He's fine though, don't worry." You sighed.

"I'm gonna head over and see if they need any help with Elle, okay?" Gray nodded.

"Just don't bring her here or I might have to clone her and have one of her for myself." You laughed and shook your head, walking out of the room.

But you end up bringing her with you anyway. E/W was having too much trouble, trying to bandage E's scabs up with a toddler on her hip. And so she'd asked you to watch her for the day, to which you were more than happy to oblige.

"Ready to see uncle Gray?" you asked. She giggled, head on your shoulder as you opened your room door. To find no Gray.

"U-cle Gray?" Elle asked. You frowned, checking the bathroom, knocking before entering. "U-cle Gray gone?"

"Looks like it-- Gray!" you called out. But no response. "Did he leave?" you asked, checking your phone for a text or a call. Nothing.

You sighed, heading back down the stairs. "Gray?" Elle asked. You shrugged, checking the kitchen. "U-cle Gray!" she yelled suddenly. You turned to see him. You frowned, you free hand on your hip.

"What did I say?"

"Y/N, I feel fine." He grinned, carrying the table in. "I'm just gonna take this up-"

"Gray, how are you gonna carry a hundred-pound desk by yourself up the stairs?" He grinned.

"You underestimate my strength, y/n." You rolled your eyes. "Besides, my niece is gonna help me-- yeah, Elle?"

"Uh huh!" You sighed.

"Absolutely not, we're gonna make a snack, hm?" She turned to you, thumb in her mouth. "If you hurt yourself further, I'm just gonna send you to e/w."

"Mama?" Elle asked. You nodded. Gray grinned, pulling half of the desk up a few steps. You sighed, not wanting to watch him.

"You also suck," Gray called. You rolled your eyes as you set Elle on the counter. "You didn't even compliment my desk."

"It looks great!"

"Liar!" You laughed as you chopped up a banana for her to eat. You fed it to her after letting her pick at it for a bit.

"You wanna watch some tv?" you asked her. She nodded and you lifted her and carried her to living room. Setting her on the couch and flipping the TV on, you grabbed your laptop to get some work done.

"TV?" she asked. You looked over. She pointed at it with sticky fingers. You smiled. "TV?"

"Mhm."

"Daddy watch?" You smiled, letting her talk to herself for a moment. "Daddy got booboo," she told you. You smiled.

"I know, uncle Gray's got 'em too." She frowned, shaking her head. "I know, right?" She let out a sigh and you laughed as Gray came down to join you.

"It's up," he said. You rolled your eyes. "Come see?" You set your work down and nodded. He picked up Elle as she squealed.

"TV!" she yelled. Gray smiled, resting her at his hip as he carried her up behind you. "TV- u-cle Gray!"

"Yeah, yeah, we'll go back down, pumpkin," he said. She whined, squirming in his arms. "I promise, we'll go down in a few minutes."

You walked into your room and smiled. "Wow," you said, running your fingers over the wood.

"You like?" he asked. "It fits perfectly!"

"I do," you said, nodding. He pulled open the cabinet he had over one shelf. "This is really nice, Gray, thank you." He smiled as you hugged with his free arm. You kissed his cheek as you pulled away.

"You're welcome; thanks for letting me build it." You smiled, shaking your head. Elle whined, pulling at Gray's hair. "We're going, we're going," he laughed. You followed them back down.

"Cam?" she asked as he sat on the couch with her in his lap. You picked up your laptop. "Cam, y/nn?"

"She's coming, isn't she?" Elle nodded, chewing on a banana. Gray wiped at her chin. "You excited?"

"Uh huh!" She giggled. "Baby!"

"That's right," Gray said with a smile. You pointed up.

"I'm gonna go shower if you'll watch her?" you asked. He nodded, squeezing Elle as she watched her show. "Careful with that thumb, Gray." He rolled his eyes.

You headed up just as Elle started blabbering again. "U-cle Gray baby?" Elle asked. You winced. You heard him sigh.

"Not for some time, pumpkin."
