The train ride was long, she tried to avoid Fred. She sat in a compartment with Ced and Jules, and eventually Fleet and Melvin joined. They talked about their summer plans. Cedric looked at Maeve who was just looking out the window.
"Hey Mae," she looked up at him and put on her best smile, "Would you want to go to the quidditch world cup with me and my dad at the end of the summer. My mom doesn't want to go, so we have an extra ticket?"
"Really? Yeah! I'd love to, clearly gotta ask the birther for permission but I don't see why she'd say no." They talked about their favorite team, of course it was the Irish.
When they reached Kings Cross, she grab her stuff as fast as she could, she couldn't wait to see her mom. "I'll write to you guys!" She said to the group, and she was off. She jumped of the train when she saw her mom. She ran until she was engulfed in the smell of her mom's perfume.
"Mum" she sobbed. "He broke my heart."
"I know." Her mom tried to hold in her own tears as she hurt for her daughter. Then she saw the family of redheads, she guessed that the twin her daughter was so in love with was probably the one that looks like his goldfish just died in front of him, and then get ran over by a car.
Molly looked over and saw Maeve embraced in her mother's arms, she made eye contact with her mom, they both gave the mom nod. Fred noticed his moms stare and found himself looking at Maeve in her mom's arms, until they apparate. She was gone.

Dear *Fr* George,
How are you doing? What are you and the family up to. My mom and I took a trip to America for about 2 weeks. I'll be back home in a few days. Went to Arizona to check on some of the Thunderbirds. Sadly Billy passed away last week, old age. Had him for a while he was looking a little rough. Bata doing well, I think he likes to travel, he just sits in my front coat pocket. My mom says I look like my gramps. I DO NOT LOOK LIKE AN OLD MAN. Anyways I miss you, hope you're well. *I miss fred* Tell the family I say hi.

Mae,
I'm doing well, we haven't done much this summer, just stayed at the burrow. *Fred misses you.* America seems fun, must be warm over there, hopefully you finally got some color on that pasty skin of yours? I'm sorry to hear about Billy, he was funny, except when he tried to pick my nose with his tongue. My walking stick! That little guy, what a man. After I read your letter, I could only think of you as an old man. Old man Maeve. I miss you, hope to see you soon, the family misses you, Mom wants you to come over for dinner, but not sure if that's a good idea. **He's not the same.**

Im home! Very jet lagged, even though we didn't even fly. We apparated. Oh, I hope this letter finds you well, it should include a thing for you dad. I saw it when I was in America. It's called a cowboy boot. Very cool, right. Anyways, yeah I don't know if I could come over yet, but mum says your more than welcome to come over here. Bring Ginny! You might have to help me feed the Hippogriff. Hows Fred? Is he doing okay? I can't stop thinking about him.
Love,
Old man Maeve
_____
Mae,
You do not understand how happy dad was when I gave him the cowboy boot. He ran right out into this shed when I gave it to him. It was really funny. Im suppose to ask you these questions.
What is a cowboy boot?
Is it a weapon?
What's that thing on the heel?
That was dad. Yeah me and Ginny want to come over next week, if that's okay. Maybe lunch on Tuesday? Freds okay, were just working on some stuff for the store. He keeps himself busy, can't say he's the same Fredo, but he's getting better. He misses you too. He asked about you, I told him I've been writing to you. Sorry, it's a twin thing. I think he already knew, or he found a letter addressed to me from you. Either way he knew. He just wants to make sure you're okay.
Love the red head

"What's that?" Julia asked when Maeve walked into her kitchen. Julia came over once Maeve got back from America and the two had been in between hers and Julia's house. They only go to Julias when Maeve's mom has company over, they didn't want to freak Julia out with their guest of honors.
"He wrote to me."
"Who? George?" Julia asked, then she saw her face, "Fred?"
"Yeah..."
"Asshole." Julia sighed
"Jules.."
"Sorry!" She smiled, "What it say?"
"He misses me." She slowly sat down, "and that he wants to talk soon."
"Are you gonna?"
"I dont know." she shrugged
"When was the last time you talked to him."
"Um, the day after the house cup.." she furrowed her brow
"Maeve.." Julia sighed, "That was in April."
"I know, I am really good at hiding from him."
"It's almost July." Julia hadn't realized how long Maeve had gone not speaking to Fred. The boy her best friend was in love with. "Mae, are you okay?"
"I'm fine." she kind of laughed, "I've kept busy.."
"Having your nose buried in a book and then following your mom around America, is not keeping busy." Julia sighed, sitting next to Maeve.
"Like I said," Maeve bit the inside of her cheek, "I'm good at hiding."
"Maybe you should talk to him." she tucked a hair behind Maeve's ear.
"George is coming around on Tuesday with Gin." Maeve got up fast, completely waving off Julias comment. "You should stay till then." She said as she walked to the kitchen, looking out the window and wiping away a tear.
Julia was finally taking notice of Maeve, she wasn't the girl she met on the train all those years ago. She aged, but not how a kid should age.
"Maeve." Julia sighed
"Oh shoot!" Maeve turned around, "You and your family are going on your trip on monday.." she shook her head, "I'll tell them you said hello... Why don't we go into town for a bit." she shrugged, "we can go too that cute shop at the corner."
"Yeah okay." Julia got up and walking over to Maeve, ignoring her protest and pulling her into a hug, "You're going to be okay, Mae."
Maeve felt like she could breathe again, being held in Julia's hug.
"You're going to be fine."
