August 25th, 2025.

Her eyes settled on the hundreds of people outside the window, focusing on the loud honks and tire screeches on the busy streets of the city, as she brought her cup of coffee to her moisturized lips.

She had caved last night. It was nearing the end of what was once her favorite month of the year and despite what she had promised herself, y/n caved and booked a flight to NYC.

It felt wrong. Every fiber in her body told her that not going was wrong. It was where she had to be. What she didn't know, was that it would feel even worse being here without him. It was pure agony, and if she had anticipated that she would feel half this bad by just being there, she never would've shot out of bed so late last night, just to spend over two thousand dollars on a piece of paper.

She went to the same hotel, a nostalgic smile settling on her face when she heard that the room she had the first time she'd been here was available. The smile turning to a slight frown when she remembered who she met right outside that very room.

After an hour or so of sulking around the room, she decided to pick herself up and give into her guilty pleasure, coffee. Now she was here. Coffee, heartbeat racing and a million souvenirs.

He dragged his feet along the stone path, his chest tightening with every laugh of her's resonating one his head. He had memorized this street like he had memorized her entire being.

He remembered how she intertwined her pinky with his for the very first time just a couple of steps left of where he was standing. He remembered eating up all her frozen yoghurt and making it up to her with his touch only an hour later.

I remember kissing you in every corner, I remember how you fumbled for your key in the elevator, I remember the taste of that 1993 Bordeaux on your tongue when you kissed me.

And now it's all over.

He kicked the door open with his boot. It wasn't anger. It was rage. Rage towards you, and himself. Why wouldn't you fight for him? Why would he let you go? Why couldn't you make it work? Why would he come back here if it was to be without you?

"Why'd you let me go so easy?" His sulking figure slid down against the wall, as he let himself bathe in the memory of her fingers tracing the dark ink on his chest, her lips on every inch of his being, her breath tickling his skin, her frame residing against his when she slept, her eyes swimming in his.

She was just as much of a souvenir to him as he was to her.

Their roles reversed when she was selfish enough to be taking wide steps towards Presidential Suite A.

This time it was all too heavy. They could only blame themselves for coming back. Her breath was dangerously uneven, hands shaking and eyes watering. She had to know if he had come back too.

She was skeptical at first, what if she knocked and the room was empty? What if a stranger opened the door instead of him, that would be embarrassing. She went through every scenario in her head, red stop signs blurring her thoughts left and right, screaming at her not to do this.
But she didn't care, her desire to know if he had been falling and breaking as much as she had in the past few months was stronger than her need to be rational.

And so she knocked. His movements halted. He froze. His tears stopped falling. She knocked again, harsher this time. He'd recognize her energy anywhere. He knew who was on the other side of that door, but he refused to let himself believe it. "Can't be." He whispered to himself.

A thud hit the door, like somebody punched it. This had Harry on his feet faster than ever before, the air knocked out of both their lungs as their eyes found each other's.

"What the fuck." She muttered to herself. She let her tears fall, this broke him. There was nothing he hated more than seeing her cry.

"You shouldn't be-" "Shut the fuck up." She interrupted him, smashing her lips to his salty ones. Her foot reached behind her to kick the door closed, something that had always managed to get Harry flustered. What was a simple action to most, turned him on more than anything.

He pressed her up against the door, this time bathing in the actual taste of her lips, picking her up soon after.

"One last time." He whispered to her, earning a nod not a split second later.

"If tomorrow you won't be mine, won't you give it to me one last time. Oh baby let me love you goodbye."

That night was detrimental, most would say. But to what? They didn't work hard to move on from each other. They refused to do that. They held on to one another, apart but together. They never let each other go, they just wouldn't admit it to the other.

And now? Now they're grabbing onto the crisp white sheets, chanting each other's names, profanities being thrown left and right, sloppy kisses exchanged between thrusts and panting so heavy they're not even sure they'll be able to catch their breaths later on. Just adding on to their souvenirs of each other.

Her left leg laid on top of his, his hand resting on the higher end of her outer thigh, their sweat drenched bodies laying covered by the hotel sheets.

The fear of letting themselves be this physical again had been disposed of when Harry made it clear that nobody could ever make her feel as euphoric as he did. She knew that.

She mustered up all the courage she could before she spoke. "I should get going soon." She half whispered. He sighed, pulling her closer by her thigh, "Fuck that." He whispered back.

She shook her head, an amused expression taking over her features. "I can't be here. I have to leave H. You know that." She pushed a strand of hair away from his eye.

"At least stay until morning. Need t' have you in my arms one more time. Just wanna hold you love, please." He silently begged, he didn't know if he'd be able to let her go come the time.

She contemplated for a moment, realizing she was way too deep in to deny him anyway, his presence made her weak.
"Until morning then."

'Never let the sun hit my skin again.' They prayed, without even letting each other know.

Neither of them slept, they just laid there, dreading the sound of birds chirping for the first time of their lives. That morning wasn't going to be like the ones where they rejoiced in the fact that they both got to spend a new day with their lover.

The words he pronounced when the clock hit seven thirty were ones that he would hate forever.

"Think it's been long enough love, if you're going to leave, it should be now."

But that was because he didn't know. He didn't know that in the hours they had spent drowning in each other's scents, she had decided she wanted to be more than a memory to him.

"Guess I'm not going now then." She mumbled nervously. She felt his chest tense against her back and before she knew it, she was being flipped over to lay flat on her back, her ex's stare, intensely focused on her features as he hovered over her frame.

"What are you saying?" He muttered, a glint of hope in his eyes. Her hand reached over his cheek, caressing it softly as she spoke up.

"I'm saying that this is where I wanna be. I wanna be yours, today, and again, tomorrow when I wake up, I already am anyway. Now and forever. I love you, Harry. We'll make it work I promise but just please —" she paused, wrapping her index around his chain, "don't let me go."

Harry felt like someone had just handed him a stack of gold, an endless amount of it, a supply of love for life. It was like the air he was longing for finally rushed back and settled in his lungs. She wanted him. She loved him.

'She wants to be mine, fuck.' He thought to himself.

He shook his head, his tongue darting out to wet his bottom lip before rasping,
"Wouldn't dream of it love."

Huge, goofy grins decorated the two lovers' faces before she pulled on his chain to get him closer.

"Kiss me you idiot." She mumbled when he wouldn't stop staring at her lips.

As their lips clashed together, life was brought back within the both of them. Yes, they had done a lot of that over the past few hours, but this kiss. This kiss was a 'you belong to me and tomorrow when we wake up, you'll still be mine.'.

Their foreheads were now pressed against each other, enjoying the post kiss euphoric feeling that bubbled in their bodies.

"By the way, you taste even sweeter than the last time I had a bite." She squealed, scolding him as his laughter filled her ears and he placed wet kisses on her neck, earning soft moans from his girl.

"Mine."
