Y/n sighed for the fiftieth time tonight, in pure exasperation and boredom. She was currently at a local coffee place with her high maintenance friends who were only interested in old books and classical music.

Y/n hated it. She hated all of it. Going to a private school had its pros but the cons surely outweighed them on her part. She was sat with a group of five people, one of them being her boyfriend, Stefan, the perfect young man according to her parents.

He was an academic, straight As, maths team, international scholar competitions and played, wait for it... chess! He truly was, a hoot.

After her freshman year, y/n quickly realized there was no way she'd want to spend the rest of her high school like this. She wanted to go out, be adventurous, stay up until late hours of the night, perhaps getting a little tipsy and dancing her ass off at a party, only coming home at dawn.

That's when she met Harry. A very good friend of her's, practically the only friend she truly liked. Wanting to escape her friends one night, y/n snuck away from the group, going to her favorite record store, enjoying the euphoria that the sound of her favorite songs brought to her body.

Harry walked in, maybe an hour later, he had come with the same intentions. They were looking through the row of '80s pop - rock' when they both reached out for the same right, kindly insisting that the other take it.

Y/n opened up to him that day, expressing her hatred of having to miss out on a fun high school experience because her friends were boring and her parents were snobs. Harry couldn't help but feel bad for the girl, he really liked her from the moment they met, she was cool, fun and he knew that he wanted her in his life beyond that day. He saw in her, an opportunity for a friendship that would last a lifetime, and refused to pass it up.

That night, Harry promised y/n that he would make sure she got the high school experience she wanted, parties, music, going to the movies, driving around the city on weekends and having pizza or hot dogs while walking through Central Park and sleepovers consisting of movie nights and long talks about anything and everything.

From that day on, y/n and Harry cling to each other like koalas. Him helping her sneak away from her life whenever she needed it, meeting up whenever they could. Harry kept his promise, he knew he was doing a great job when she would thank him after every single adventure, claiming he was the best thing that could've ever happened to her.

So when Harry walked through the double doors of the coffee place, a pleasant grin settled on his face as he recognized his good friend's long brown locks. He placed his order and made his way over to the table she was sat at, her expression shifting drastically as she saw his tall figure approaching.

"Hello m'lady." He goofed, setting his ring adorned fingers on the table before him. "Why hello there kind sir." She beamed, returning the playful greeting, the both of them laughing in unison.

Stefan sent a glare Harry's way as he hesitantly threw his arm around his partner's shoulder, cringing, probably because she had 'germs' or whatnot. This earned him a confused look and her hand picking his up to set it back on his lap as she turned her attention back to Harry.

"Hi, I'm Harry." He introduces himself to the four people sitting there with glares disgusted looks at his attire, which y/n always loved. A button up shirt, opened just enough to reveal the tattoos on his chest and the cross chain dangling in between his pecs, skinny black jeans and brown boots.
