The first rays of sunlight falls on my face. I slowly open my eyes and the view before me looks very mesmerizing. The windows are open and I would see the garden at the front. The flowers makes the garden more beautiful. Then I remember about last night. Oh, how could I forget that. It was the best. I could still feel the way he was touching me. So hard, as if he doesn't want to let me go. Turning around I meet an empty bed, no sign of Alex. He's an early bird. I get up from the bed and look for my clothes. I feel sore but still manage to wear clothes. I go to the bathroom to freshen up. Then I go down and meet Alex fully dressed up in the kitchen. He looks up at me and smiles a small smile. Still my wish isn't fulfilled yet. How much I wanted to wear his shirt, my hair tumbling down and looking perfect. Anyway, I don't look bad either. Before coming down I combed my hair, and managed somehow without makeup. He has seen my bare face many times. I go sit on one of the stools near the counter. Alex passes me a plate of fruits and orange juice..
"I thought you must be hungry.... How do you feel" he scratches the back of his neck.
"just a little sore.. I hope it goes away fast. And thanks for this breakfast... I was really hungry". I giggle a little.
We don't talk about last night at all instead silently eat our food. Alex drops me at my house. We look at each other for sometime. He leans in for a small kiss. I don't regret anything that happened last night. However Alex looks tense. Maybe he thinks I wasn't ready. Sometimes he can really be a sweetheart.
I see a small glint of deception but maybe I am imagining things. Waving at him I go inside my house. Ali must be sleeping. The house is pin drop silent. I tip toe towards my room. Once inside my room, I go lay on bed. Rather than wasting my time in overthinking, I go to have shower. I undress myself and get inside the bathroom. I find my favorite apple flavoured body wash. I still smell like him and a big smile appears on my face. I hum my favorite song and wash my hair too.
It still pains down there. So I think of resting on bed. It's Sunday and my parents aren't returning.
I wake up after sometime . What time is it? I check my phone and dang!!! It's 1 in the afternoon. My small nap turned into 5 hour slumber. Great. Did Alex text to check up on me. No.
But I see many texts from Aubry and.... Ali.
Impressive.
First I go through the former's text.
"babe you missing. Dead?" uh-huh, clearly drunk.
"gonna hook up with Miles, meet up some other day". Who is Miles now?
Then I check Ali's texts
"where are you bish..?" expected
"did you get lost again.."
"you ok? Text me please"
Is she really concerned??? I check the last text she sent me, before I even woke up at the Frat house.
"reach home safe".
I did not think much. But I am bored. I don't want to disturb Aubry because, well, she must be dealing with her hangover. So, Alex must be free. I call him. Doesn't pick up. I try calling him. And he picks up after 4 rings.
"yeah Elena, I am busy.. Did you want something" he sounds pissed off. I furrow my eye brows. He never talked to me like that ever.
"no, just wanted to check up on you. I did not want to disturb"
He hangs up. What??
It's really hard to understand him. I go downstairs and find the house empty. I go to the kitchen. Because I am hungry. But I shouldn't eat much. Specially no dairy products. I am trying to look fit and only for Alex. Well if he doesn't want to talk to me after our only special night, then I am free to eat whatever I want.
Then I realized, maybe he did not think I am good in bed. Oh please no, that may not be the reason. I simply sit and eat grilled bread and cheese. These thoughts keep on clouding my mind.
To distract myself I head to my bedroom and try on some clothes. Yeah, best way to light up my mood. I almost try everything and, they all look good on me. From tight fitted body hugging dress to small shorts, everything looks good. Ali and I haven't shared clothes because, duh, our tastes are different.
I try making different styles with a single scarf. Also do some pretty hairstyles. My hair reaches till my waist. I am not fond of long hair but still kept it. Maybe I can cut my hair short, it enhances my face too.
Suddenly I hear a ping sound. Someone's text maybe. I expected it from Aubry. But I see Alex's text.
"meet me around 5pm. Usual spot"
Okay, it was unusual. Usual spot clearly meant the park where we spent our time together after movie night. It has become our usual spot now. I laugh curtly.
Everytime I go there, I find peace and safe with Alex around me. But this time I don't think it's going to be same.
Nothing can go wrong, I think to myself.
I put my hair in high ponytail, he will like it. The purple strands look beautiful. With a simple long sleeve purple crop top and a black flowy skirt which reaches my mid thigh, I am ready.
Yes, I am ready to face the challenge.. But what can it be??
