after about three hours of hanging around with kio, basically getting something to eat, going back to his apartment, watching scary movies, listening to random music while singing and dancing along, and filming tiktoks. tayler finally decided to show up at his apartment.

once 9:30 strolled around, kio, tayler, and maeve has just gotten to the hype house. after about five minutes madelyn, chase, and rudy arrived.
before maeve could get off, kio stopped her. turning around to glance at him "anthony just texted me that jaden's here"
maeve's heart sunk "we could leave—
maeve shook her head "no. i'm not leaving. i'm not giving him the satisfaction of ruining a night nor any other day with my friends" and with that she opened her side of the door and let out a breath
rudy walking up to her, seeing her in a silky black dress that hugged all her curves, hanging loosely just above her knees, and of course she paired it with her white nike air forces. but before he could compliment her, he noticed her worried face.
"hey what's wrong?" he asks as he grabs her hands
letting out another sigh "jaden's here"
"we could leave?...but i'm pretty sure that's not what you want" maeve smiling softly as she takes notices just how much he knows her
as they meet up with chase, madelyn, tayler, and kio who were waiting by the door for them. maeve sends tayler a nod.
as he opens the door, kio is falling behind him, just as maeve was about to take a step in rudy whispers in her ear "you know...you look so beautiful" giving her a small squeeze on her waist
and with that it gave maeve the boost of confidence she so needed.
following right behind kio, they're lead to the kitchen, each grabbing their desired drink. maeve of course grabbing her best friend, a tequila shot. drowning it down quickly, then grabbing a corona.
"outback?" tayler suggests as he glances at maeve
maeve taking a gulp of her corona, she nods. rudy could see her nerves building up, no matter how hard she tried to hide them, so he intertwined their hands. maeve looking up at him, rudy sending her a wink. which resulted in a smile from maeve and a small hand squeeze.
as they stepped outback, maeve's eyes landed on everyone there. noticing the same groups, she sees bryce and right next to him was jaden. as bryce's eyes connect with tayler he screams out for him. "yo tayler!"
jaden looking up from josh, his eyes catch tayler then to kio and finally to maeve. both making eye contact, maeve easily noticed his jaw clenching as he glanced at rudy, then to rudy's hand that was intertwined with hers.
before he could stand up, laylani came over to him, immediately sitting in his lap. yet jaden's eyes never left maeve's until laylani had grabbed his jaw and planted a sloppy kiss on his lips.

thirty minutes go by, nobody beating jaden and laylani. bryce gave the last call to whoever wanted to play.
"i want my rematch maeve" laylani's voice booms as jaden and her appear at maeve's table

cheers roaring, laylani snatching her cup from jaden and chugged it. rudy and kio joined in on the crowd, rudy glancing at maeve, winking at her as maeve blows a kiss.
ten minutes go by, as jaden and laylani had only one cup left as for tayler and maeve still had three more.
tayler bounces his ball and misses, groaning. jaden grabs his ball and bounces it and makes it in. maeve sighing, tayler grabbing the cup and chugs it.
"no pressure" tayler smirks, maeve slightly pushing him
maeve bounces her ball on the table, missing the cup just by an inch. "fuck" maeve whispers, laylani chuckling.
jaden hands laylani the ball and she makes it in. "common sweetheart, drink up"
"no pressure" maeve smiles at tayler, rolling his eyes he gets the ball and bounces it...missing.
"tayler" maeve sighs softly
jaden goes to bounce his, missing the couple just by an inch. maeve letting out a breath of relief
as maeve bounces her ball on the table, luck was really on her side "oh my god!" she gasps as she makes it in, winning the game once again
cheers surround them, maeve turning to tayler in excitement, hugging her quickly
maeve turns to rudy who was walking towards her, "that's my girl!" rudy wrapping his arms around her waist, picking her up as maeve wraps her arms around his neck, chuckling.
