It was summer time, which meant summer break. Everyone in class 1-A sat in the common area, trying to escape the heat in the air condition, all of us slowly loosing our minds with being bored.
"So, I heard that there is a carnival going on by the beach for the week." Mina commented, making everyone in the room perk up. Kirishima, Sero and Mina were on the couch, Kaminari was sprawled across the floor, while I sat in a chair with Katsuki leaning against the back of the chair behind me.
"We should totally go. I mean it summer, the League has been pretty quiet recently. Of course we would have to have Aizawa, Mic and probably All Might come with us." I say twirling a strand of my hair. As soon as I said that, as if on cue Aizawa walked through the room.
"Well, if you want to go, you all better hurry up and get ready. Mic was wanting to go anyway." He sighed out rubbing the back of his head. I smiled at him, as we all hurried to actually get out and do something that's not training or staying inside being bored. I got up to my room, I changed out of my lazy clothes, into some actual clothes, I put my black two piece swimsuit on, and then pulled a olive green tank top cop top with a pair of dark wash cut off shorts, I walked around my room grabbing things that we possibly needed, I grabbed two towels, some waters, sunscreen, and what not. I walked to my dresser and grabbed a couple of hair ties just in case I need them. I soon headed down to the common area, I had flip flops on Aizawa, Mic and All Might stood around waiting for us.
"I'm so excited!" Mina said, I opened my arms as she fell into them hugging me. "You're uncle is awesome." I chuckled at her.
"I told you he's not all gloom and doom all the time." I say to her, I looked at the teachers , Mic had his hair down they were all in regular clothing, seeing that they didn't want o bring to much attention to themselves. I felt an arm go over my shoulders, I looked over and seen Katsuki, he was glaring at Mineta, who was staring at me and Mina basically drooling all over the floor. I huffed quietly, placing one of my arms around Katsuki's waist while Mina and I still held on to each other as well, both our arms wrapped around each other's waist.
"Alright, is everyone here?" Aizawa questioned looking around at all of us. "Alright, now be in groups of at least 2. I know everyone has everyone's number, if you can't get a hold of any of the three of us, get a hold of as many class mates as you can. Let's go." We had began our walk to the beach area.
Once we got there, people split up into their groups, the Bakusquad and sadly Mineta joined us on our way to the carnival, as where the others. Katsuki kept me close to him the whole time, his arm was either wrapped around my waist or shoulders, or he was holding my hand. After he was kidnapped, I noticed the difference in him, he got lost in thoughts more often when we were by ourselves, when we are out in public, he always has to be touching me in someway. He was being quiet, as the others ran around looking at the games, rides and food.
"Hey, Katsuki. You okay?" I asked gently turning his head towards me.
"I'm fine, why do you ask?" He grumbled out, I gave him a small smile.
"No reason, you're just being extra quiet right now." I explain to him, he gently shook his head with a small smile on his face.
"Nothing to worry about. Come on let's go play some games." We walked over to the game that the others were at. I watched as everyone played the game, Mina had lost and walked over placing her head on my shoulder, I patted her back lightly chuckling.
"It's not fair." She whined to me.
"It's okay, Mina maybe the next game." I say lightly.
"What about you little lady? Would you like to give it a shot?" The Carney questioned showing me the ball, Katsuki nor Kirishima had played yet.
"Eh, why the hell not?" I say walking forward, I gave him money and took the ball from his hand, I walked to the line and looked at the bottles stacked up on each other. I pierced my lips looking at the bottles, I got in my stance to throw the ball, I cocked my arm back and through the ball, as hard as I good at the tow middle bottles. I watched the ball hit the middle bottles in the second row and knock them off balance and knocking the top half off. I smiled and walked forward again to claim my prize as the group cheered for me, despite Katsuki who had a small smile on his face. For my prize I chose the bright pink bear, I walked over to Mina and handed it to her.
"Awe, thank you." She said hugging me. "You are the best best friend ever." We watched Kirishima tried and he was able to get the whole top off, like I did, he chose a red bear for himself. Katsuki was the last one, and he was able to knock the whole thing over, he chose a giant green monkey. I laughed as he walked over to me and Mina with it, he shoved it into my hands, he turned his head away from me and the group but I could see the blush.
"Awe, thank you Katsuki." I say placing a small kiss on his cheek.
"Okay, let's go to the next games!" Kirishima cheered, we continued our walk around the carnival. Mina and I rode rides with each other, Kirishima, Sero and Katsuki stayed on the side lines as we did. A few times Katsuki snapped at Kirishima as he joked with the blonde.
"You know sometimes it seems like Mina and Kohana are the ones actually dating." Kirishima joked, as Mina and I walked around in front of them with our arms around each other. We looked back at the two, who where carrying our stuff as we walked around. I couldn't help but laugh at them.
"Oh you're just jealous that we are giving each other more attention than we are you." Mina said, she stuck her tongue out at the two. I laughed at their faces, Katsuki had a tick mark on his head, while Kirishima sheepishly smiled at us. We turned back around and looked around the area to see what we haven't done yet. "Ooo, what about that one?!" Mina pointed out to a roller coaster ride that we have yet to be on.
"Let's go!" I say, we quickly made our way over there, but this time Katsuki and Kirishima wanted to ride which left, Kaminari, Sero and Mineta to hold our stuff, Mina and I gave our bags and stuff to Sero, knowing he wouldn't let the others dig through it. For this ride Mina and I got seperated, which meant I rode with Katsuki. The ride started, we where tracking up the hill getting ready to drop.
"Kohana! Hands up!" Mina yelled from behind me, I raised my hands up in the air just as we got to the top.
"Katsuki, hands up." I say lightly looking at my boyfriend with a smile. He sighed and reluctantly did it. We slowly began to descend, soon it got really fast. Kirishima, Mina and I cheered, I glanced to the side to Katsuki with a smile as we rode the ride. I felt him grab my hand, I laughed as we went to the side as we rounded a curve. I could tell her was enjoying himself, and he needed to do something like this instead of being stuck inside all day.
We got off the ride and decided to go get food before we all met up to go to the beach. Once we all got the food we wanted we sat down at a table, meeting up with Aizawa, Mic and All Might, this was where we were supposed to meet anyway. I placed the giant monkey on the ground behind me and my bag on the ground between Katsuki and I. We all held our own conversations as we ate, Katsuki was back to being quiet again as I talked with All Might, Mic and Aizawa. All Might made a point to make sure to look at Katsuki every once in a while. I looked at Katsuki, he had a hard look on his face as he ate.
"Hey, what's wrong?" I asked, I placed my hand lightly on his back, making him jump a little. "Katsuki?" He shook his head. I sighed lightly. I slowly got up from the bench of the table. "Come with me. Let's go for a walk." He slowly got up from the bench as well, everyone was quiet as they watched us walk away. We got to a secluded place. "Talk to me. What's wrong? You're normally not this quiet."
"I-I..." He began to say before stopping, a conflicted look crossed his face.
"It's about the kidnapping, isn't it? The League of Villains?" I asked quietly, he slowly nodded his head. "Katsuki, what happened that day was bound to happen at some point. None of that was your fault, no matter what your mom says, no matter what anyone says, it was NOT your fault, honey. All Might, Aizawa, or any of the teachers blame you for what happened. No one has ever blamed you for that." I say to him, my hands cupped his face lightly. I could smell the smoke coming from his hands as they heated up. I knew if I grabbed his hands they would burn me, but I did it anyway. I hissed lightly at the heat of them, but it quickly faded. I didn't want him to set off his quirk in public like this.
"Why would you do that?" He yelled has his hands cupped mine, bringing them up so he could look at them.
"It's fine Katsuki, it happens, I just don't want you to set off your quirk accidentally in public, especially when you can't control it in this state. I'm fine, it was just hot, no burns." I say to him, I shake his hands off of mine and cup his face again, his face begins to weaver slightly, his eyes scrunch up as tears welt in his eyes. "You didn't hurt me. I promise." He head leaned down resting on my shoulder. I gently ran my hand through his hair, I looked up and seen Aizawa standing there waiting patiently. "Now, how about we go back finish our food, go to the beach and have some fun?" I say gently lifting his head and wiping some tears off his cheeks. He nodded his head and we began walking off.
"Actually if you don't mind, I'd like to talk to Bakugo for a second." Aizawa said. I nodded my head and began walking back to the table. I took a seat once I got back.
"Hey, is everything okay?" Kirishima questioned sliding closer to me.
"Yeah, he just needed to talk for a second. It's okay." I say to him patting his back. "No need to worry, we got it sorted out for now." After that, we immediately dove into a conversation with Mina, slowly people began to arrive, soon enough we were just waiting on Aizawa and Katsuki to get back. I watched as they rounded to corner, Katsuki looked to be in a slightly better mode, he held the normal scowl on his face now.
"Alright, everyone ready to go?" Aizawa questioned. We all agreed and headed off to the beach, Kirishima was making comments that made Katsuki snap at him like usual. I smiled, I liked seeing Katsuki being Katsuki. He's going to have these problems for a while, but it's slowly getting better and that's what we want.
