Jungkook's POV
I was supposed to start a new job today, not that I haven't served as a personal bodyguard before, but it was always for spoiled arrogant brats, teenagers who thought the world revolved around them. It was getting annoying but I made good money so I couldn't really complain. This time was different, I was supposed to protect a married woman, at least an adult would be less troublesome then a kid.
I was about to leave my apartment when I received a text from my employer... "Not even a phone call huh?" these rich people were really getting on my nerves. The text said to go to an address which when located on Google map indicates Starlight Studio building. "Isn't this where Hoseok hyung works?" guess I'll have good company then.
Once I had arrived at my destination, I parked in the company's private parking lot and proceeded to check the surroundings first. The building stood tall next to a restaurant on the left and an alley on the right. There was only one main entrance at the front, and a small exit at the back. The place didn't seem secure; I'll have to be very vigilant in a building like that. I went inside and saw Rita at the entrance "Oh Jungkook, Hi it's been a while, how are you doing? Are you here to see Hoseok?"
"Morning Rita, I'm good thanks, actually I'm here for work, I'll head upstairs see you later little Riri"
I went to the second floor and I swear I you could hear Hoseok's laugh from miles away. I smiled to myself; maybe I'll be able to enjoy my work for once. I was nervous to meet my client, she was a married woman and I didn't know exactly how old she was. Her husband didn't seem very old when I first met him. I was hoping she wouldn't make things difficult for me.
I took a deep breath and pushed the door to where the photo shoot took place. It was full of people in there, makeup artists, stylists, piles of fancy clothes and bags, the place reeked of cosmetics' smell and perfume. I looked around and no one seemed to have noticed my presence. "This is bad! I thought to myself, if anyone was to intrude it would be a piece of cake." I stood up next to the entrance and examined the room, I didn't want to interrupt them since apparently they were shooting a commercial today. Hoseok noticed me and came running. "Kook hey, how are you doing man? We haven't seen you in a long time."
"Hyung, I'm good thanks, I'm sorry my last job was a pain in the neck, I could barely have enough time to sleep with those troublesome teens."
"It's okay, we've missed you, you should come to the gathering next week, we're having dinner together at Namjoon's. By the way, what brings you here?"
"A new contract" I sighed, "Do you know the CEO of TEX Corporation?" Hoseok flinched at my words "Yeah that piece of shit, Lin right? What about him?" I couldn't help but notice how his face hardened and his voice came out a bit different than before. "Yeah that one, he hired me to be the personal bodyguard of his wife. I actually came here to meet his wife, I was hoping you could show me the old Mrs. Lin" As soon as I finished my words Hoseok's expression changed; he exploded into hysterical laughs loud enough so that everyone was looking at him now.
"Oh God, yeah well lucky for you the Old lady is here today and I just happen to know her I'll introduce you to her if you want" he said tapping my shoulder. I was relieved; if Hoseok were to introduce us it would be less awkward. I was about to follow him when a loud voice made everyone stop in their tracks "All right I think that's a wrap, I got all I need here. Thank you everyone for coming." The photographer said, turning around, "That's your Mrs. Lin By the way" Hoseok gestured with his head towards the woman and when I looked at her face, time froze in space... and suddenly, I remembered all my past memories at once, how I used to look at her from afar while waiting for Jin hyung in the campus. She always had a camera in her hands and seemed to be the loneliest person on earth, but when she was with hyung, her smile was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. It's been five years since the last time I saw her, and there she was again standing a few steps away from me, looking the same but different at the same time; she seemed more mature and the way she dressed was different too, but her face looked younger if that is even possible.
I was too immersed in my thoughts I didn't notice that Hoseok was no longer next to me. He was talking to her and handed her a bottle of chocolate milk and I couldn't help but smile at her reaction she was very cute. "She likes chocolate milk? Noted!" I said to myself.
Hoseok came back right after she left, "She's going to her studio to work on the photos and edit the videos, she usually spends hours in there, I think we should go grab something to eat, it's going to be a long wait." I agreed, I didn't want to disturb her, she seemed to be extremely passionate about her work and that was something admirable to me.
"It's okay hyung, you can go with Rita, I can't leave the building, I'll just wait in front of her studio in the corridor, you two have lunch together."
"I'll bring you both takeouts then. See you later Kook." And with that Hoseok left and I headed to her studio.

It has been a couple of hours since she went in. I found it weird how nobody from her husband's men was around her but then again I could easily protect her myself. The building's structure seemed to be old, but I heard renovations were made last year. My legs were getting cramped so I decided to stand up and check on her, and as I was about to get in I swore I could hear faint noises inside.
Without giving it a second thought I tried to push the door of her office but it was locked from the inside. I took a few steps back and came back in with all force until the door was broken..................... and there she was, on her knees, crying silently, her previously white dress shirt was now crimson red and a man was behind her holding a fishing line in his hands...
I've been enraged few times in my life, but nothing compared to how I felt that moment when that scene displayed before my eyes and without even thinking, I tackled him to the ground and twisted his neck in one swift movement. Next thing I knew he was dead and she was looking at me with horrified eyes before fainting.
"Mrs. Lin" I shouted and held her frail body in my arms. "No no no no! Please wake up, stay with me" I guess I was screaming the words so loud that everyone gathered at the entrance, Hoseok and Rita came running both shocked "Emma, please God tell me she's alive Jungkook" Rita cried holding onto her body
"She's still breathing, but she lost a lot of blood, hyung, quickly help me I need to bring her to the hospital."
Hoseok made way for me through the crowd of people and I held her tightly in my arms. She was covered in blood, a deep cut around her neck, and my heart broke every time I looked down at her unconscious body. We went out through the small exit at the back door "Thanks, you should stay with Rita she was devastated, I'll keep you updated hyung." I didn't want him to leave her in that state and I knew I'd be quicker if I went to the hospital by myself.
I delicately put her in the backseat of my car and hopped in the front, before I knew it I was already on the main road towards the closest hospital and I prayed to God that she would hold on until we got there. I dialed Mr. Lin's number but his assistant said he was in a meeting and asked not to be disturbed. "Tell him it's about his wife, an incident happened and I'm currently on my way to the hospital" I was cussing so much, thank God she couldn't hear me. "I'm sorry Mr. Jeon, but Mr. Lin said to take her to the mansion instead..." I didn't even let her finish and hung up. "That stupid asshole, I see that appearances are more important than his wife's life" I was boiling with rage now. I was left with only one option now, I sighed deeply calming myself down and called the only person I knew could help "Hyung it's me, I need you at the Lin Mansion, I'll be there in 10 minutes."
"Jungkook, what's going on why are you going there?"
"I'm with Mrs. Lin, someone tried to assassinate her at the studio. She lost a lot of blood and is currently unconscious, hyung please we don't have much time"
Jin hung ended the call without replying, I knew he got my message clear and was probably rushing too to the mansion.

Jin hyung was in inside with her in her room for about an hour, and I for once couldn't keep my feet on the ground. Her husband was nowhere to be found. I couldn't believe that man would be absent in a moment like this. I kept on walking in front of her door, I wanted to be there, to help if I could although I knew Jin hyung was more than capable but I simply wanted to be there for her.
"Here my dear boy, I made you some tea to calm your nerves down, the young Mistress will be alright, you saved her life." An old woman said behind me holding a cup of tea in her hands. I thanked her and drank it while waiting for Hyung.
"Where is she?" Mr. Lin was finally home and started shouting as soon as he entered the hall. He seemed more angry than worried. "Young Master the lady is currently in her room with the doctor. He's been in there for an hour or so"
He stopped in his track right in front of me. "Mr. Jeon, sorry for the inconvenience, if that stupid woman followed the orders for once nothing of this would've happened. I even had to interrupt an important meeting because of her." I scoffed at his words, "No Sir I only did what I was hired for, besides I don't think your men would've been of any help. We were dealing with a trained assassin." He raised his eyebrows, "trained assassin huh?"
"She's out of danger" Hyung came out finally closing the door behind him. "She's sleeping now, so I suggest you come see her once she wakes up." His words were more addressed to her husband.
Mr. Lin turned on his feet "call me when she's up, I'll be in my study." And with that he left, leaving both hyung and I in the corridor.
