THE CAMERON RESIDENCE
"Hey! Your dad is not gonna like that you're back home!" Rose yells, seeing Rafe come out of the car.
"He told me I could come here." Rafe says.
"Well he didn't tell me." Rose says, taking a sip of wine. She saw Sarah get out of the car.
"Why aren't you on the plane?" Rose asks, seeing Sarah.
"Ask Rafe." Sarah says, walking into the house.
IN THE TWINKIE - POLICE STATION (HOURS LATER)
"John B what are we doing at the police station? I already said this was a stupid idea." JJ asks.
"Somebody's gotta tell them what happened." John B says, as Pope was coughing on the smoke of the weed.
"Ooh, easy there, chief. Damn." JJ says, patting Pope on the back.
"Alright, I'm just gonna be real with you right now. You might end up in the lion's den, but you don't go there on purpose. It's fundamental. Just like my old man always told me." JJ says.
"You should never ever trust cops! No matter what the circumstance is!" JJ adds on.
"Your old man's an abusive liar." Kie says, getting JJ to shut up.
"I agree with JJ. Fuck the police." Pope says, high.
"Yeah you going to the dark side now?" Kie asks, disappointed.
"When's the last time the police ever helped us?" Pope asks.
"Peterkin looked out for me! Alright?" John B asks.
"Tried to, at least. They need to know." John B says.
FIVE MINUTES LATER
"Kie! Start the car! Start the car Kie!" John B yells, running out of the police station.
"What? John B? WHAT DID YOU DO?!" Kie yells.
"The cops!" Kie yells.
"Shit!" JJ yells as they were all filled with chaos.
"Kie drive! GO!" JJ screams.
"I'm going! I'm sorry!" Kie yells, panic driving.
"Stop the car! Right now!" The police officers yell while they were driving.
"What did you do?!" Kie yells.
"Pull over!" The officers say as John B slams the door, making one of the cops fall.
THE CAMERON RESIDENCE
"Ward, whose blood is that?" Rose asks, seeing him wash his hands in the sink.
"It's Peterkin's." Ward says, wiping his hands with the towel.
"Peterkin? What the hell happened to Peterkin?" Rose asks.
"She's dead. She got shot." Ward whispers.
"Jesus! By who?" Rose asks, shocked.
"Where are the kids? Rose?" Ward asks, deflecting.
"I don't know. They're up in their rooms." Rose says, pointing upstairs.
"Okay.." Ward says, quietly.
"Ward, who shot her?" Rose asks, concerned.
"I'll be right back." Ward says, continuing to deflect.
"Wait where the hell are you going? Ward?" Rose asks, confused as to why she wasn't being told anything.
"Hey, no! Get back here! I need to know what's going on!" She yells.
"I don't give two shits what you need right now, okay?!" Ward screams back at Rose.
THE THORNTON RESIDENCE
Violet woke up from her nap, sober but still a little woozy from the Fentanyl, but she was doing alright.
That was when she heard a knock on her door.
"Come in!" Violet yells, rubbing her eyes.
"Princess Violet!" Lily says, jumping onto her bed and hugging her. Her family was still going to be in town from the rest of the week.
"Hey!" Violet says, laughing.
"Are you coming to dinner with us?" Lily asks, her face hopeful.
"Uh- Princess Violet is feeling a little sick right now." Violet says, not wanting to go to dinner with the rest of her family.
"Where?" Lily asks.
"Just my tummy." Violet says, brushing it off.
"Can I help?" Lily asks.
"Yeah, sure." Violet says, nodding.
"Okay!" Lily says, bending her head down and kissing Violet's stomach.
"Feel better?" Lily asks.
"Yeah, so much better." Violet laughs, poking her little nose.
"Can you come to dinner then?" Lily asks.
"No, not tonight. Eat a big slice of cake for me, okay?" Violet asks, hugging her little cousin.
"Tomorrow?" Lily asks.
"Yes, I'll come with you guys to dinner tomorrow." Violet nods.
"Pinky promise?" Lily asks, holding up her pinky.
"Pinky promise." Violet says, making the promise.
THE WRECK
Kiara jumped out of the Twinkie and went inside The Wreck, which was full of customers at the moment. It was a busy night for them, and a busy night for the Outer Banks as it was in it's peak in tourism.
"Hey! Mom!" Kie says, running to the back.
"Where have you been? We've been full the entire day! Put on an apron." Her mom says, plating some food.
"Mom I need to see Violet." Kie says.
"Come on! Put on an apron and get to work!" Anna yells, not really paying attention.
"No- mom this is serious I need to see her for something." Kiara says.
"I sent her home a few hours ago, she was feeling sick." Anna says.
"What?" Kie asks.
"Okay now put on the apron and get to work Miss." Anna says.
"I'll be right back." Kiara says, running out back to the Twinkie.
"She's not there." Kie says to the boys.
"What do you mean she's not there? She works there." JJ says.
"My mom sent her home cause she was sick." Kiara says.
"What?! She's sick?" JJ asks.
"I'm sure she's fine." John B says.
"Prince JJ? Is that you?" A little voice calls out, running towards the Twinkie, which made all the Pogues freeze.
"Your majesty? Is that you?" JJ gasps, squinting his eyes and getting out of the Twinkie.
"Prince JJ!" Lily giggles, running towards JJ, who picks her up.
"Lillian!" Her mom's calls, scorning her.
"I'm so sorry about that." Lily's mom says, walking up to them.
"Lily, come on now. We gotta go to dinner!" Her moms says, clearly fed up with the child.
"I wanna stay!" Lily yells, starting to cry.
"Come on, they have places to be!" Her mom says.
"Hey, listen to your mom." JJ says to Lily.
"Nooooo!" Lily whines, crying and making a big scene.
"Hey, hey. Queen Lily, listen to your mom, okay?" JJ says, trying to calm her down.
"I don't have a mom, but you do. So listen to her, okay?" JJ says, holding the child's hand. The little girl nods and goes back to her mom.
THE CAMERON RESIDENCE
"Is.. she alive?" Rafe asks, seeing his father walk through the door of his office.
Ward shook his head in response.
"No?" Rafe asks.
"No." His father says.
"Okay.. okay." Rafe says, nodding and panicking. His breath stopped and his entire body was shaking.
"What did you- what did you tell the cops? Are they coming here?" Rafe asks, panicking.
"I told them John B did it." Ward says, calmly.
"Told them John B did it.. that's good." Rafe says, snapping his fingers.
"Yes that could work." Rafe says, snapping his fingers again.
"Rafe, I need you to go to your room. I need you to clean up. Take a shower alright? Anybody asks, you were here all day doing maintenance on the Druthers." Ward commands.
"No, Rose knows I wasn't here." Rafe says, shaking his head.
"I will talk to Rose, okay? Please, just do what I say." Ward says.
"What about Sarah?" Rafe asks.
"What about Sarah?" Ward asks.
"Okay- listen. Sarah, Sarah has a big mouth, okay?" Rafe says, worried his sister might rat him out.
"Sarah's fine. She won't sell the family out. She's not gonna hurt us." Ward says.
"No no no no, you don't understand. You didn't see her in the car." Rafe says.
"I don't care." Ward says, talking over Rafe.
"She's flipping out, dad." Rafe says.
"Rafe! Stop! Would you stop it?! I don't need your help right now! I didn't need it then, I don't need it now! I just need to think! So, please! Go clean up!" Ward yells over Rafe, walking away.
"You understand right?" Rafe asks his dad.
Ward sighs, clearly stressed out.
"You understand?" Rafe repeats.
"Understand what?" Ward asks.
"Why I did it." Rafe says, with tears forming in his eyes.
"You were in trouble and I was protecting you." Rafe says, with a tear rolling down his face. Getting a sigh from Ward again. Father of the year, huh?
"Okay? Look, me Dad. Rafe. Not Sarah, okay? It was me." Rafe says, crying and pointing to himself. He was just trying to win his dad back, but he never had him in the first place. So I guess you can say he was just trying to be loved by his dad, he loved him so much he was going to kill for him.
"I'm sorry uh." Rafe says.
"I know, come here. Come on." His dad says, hugging him.
Rafe didn't know how to react. He had never been shown this type of affection by his father before.
"Come on, come on bud. I'm sorry." His dad says, holding him.
"I love you." Ward says, kissing his son on the cheek once again.
"I love you Rafe, so much." Ward says, getting a smile from Rafe.
THE THORNTON RESIDENCE - AN HOUR LATER
Violet had fallen asleep again by accident, it was out of the ordinary since she was an insomniac, but she was woken up by the sound of a knock on her window. Which made her jump.
She walked over and opened the window, to see Rafe Cameron standing there in front of her.
"I need cocaine." Rafe says.
"What? We literally snorted my whole stash." Violet says, rubbing her eyes.
"Oh I know you have more, just let me take a look." Rafe says, looking around her room.
"Rafe! Stop this!" Violet yells.
"Where is it? I know you're good at hiding things." Rafe says, looking through her bookshelf.
"Rafe! What the hell has gotten into you?!" Violet yells, pushing him away from her closet.
"I- I need some I-" Rafe says, hyperventilating and starting to cry.
"Come here, sit down." Violet says, dragging him over so that they were both sitting on her bed.
"Come, on, breathe." Violet says, taking him in her arms, she put his head on her chest, holding him.
"Breathe, okay? Follow my breathing." She says, inhaling and exhaling, her chest rising with each inhale and lowering with each inhale. Which made him follow her breathing so that both of them were breathing the same.
"Have you-- have you ever done something you never thought you would?" He asks, with his head buried in her chest.
"Just breathe man." Violet says, not wanting to talk about her relapse, which was what she thought he was talking about.
"I'm fucked man. Like totally like a hundred percent I'm fucked. Like for life, there's no way out of this!" Rafe says, while crying in her arms.
"Just calm down, and breathe, don't talk right now.." Violet says, playing with his hair to calm him down.
"I did uh- something, something bad. And- and there's no coming back from it!" Rafe says, putting his head up.
"Rafe, I literally came back from the dead. If there's anything to come back from you can." Violet says, not amused.
"No- no." He shakes his head as he starts crying again, so she took him into her arms again, trying to comfort him. She didn't know what was wrong, but she wanted to make sure he was okay.
That was when she heard a noise coming from her window, and the sound of a gun cocking moments later.
"Get the fuck away from her." JJ says, pointing his gun at Rafe.
