KATNISS POV:
"It's fine I just need to tell you something."
"What?" he asks
I open my mouth should I tell him?
"I've been such and idiot!" I cry.
"Need a hug?" He opens his arms. I fling myself into them and we fall back.
I end up trying to get up quickly but I just fail and fall back.
"Sorry." Peeta says.
"Sorry? You really sorry about this?" I ask sarcastically.
"No I like it." He smiles. I can see his face more clearer now as the sun is rising.
What time it is?
PEETA POV:
What does she mean by she's been an idiot? If anyone's been an idiot it's me. I'm the one who agreed to go on a date with Abbie. I'm surprised she has forgiven me already.
But why does she need to forgive me? It's not like where going out.
"Why did you say you were an idiot?" I ask.
"I kissed..." I know it's not going to end well.
"I kissed gale." She says. And I think I see something, she changes.
"Gale?" I ask.
"Yes. But we were just playing around on the beach and..."
"The beach huh?" I say.
"Stop being like that." She playfully slaps me.
"Like what?" I say flatly.
"Like you don't care!" And tears start to form in her eyes.
"Why would I care?" I shout.
"Because we're friends maybe?" She chokes on her words.
"Because I like you."
"Katniss, I can't do this anymore." I stand up but she catches my hand.
"Do what?" She pauses. "Be friends?"
"No I can do that just fine." I then shake her hand off.
"I'm sorry Peeta. So sorry." Tears starts to fall and she covers up her face with her hands.
"For what?" I kneel down next to her and remove her hands from her face.
"It's was you Peeta," she whipes her tears away.
"You were the one I was afraid of losing."
"I've gotta go. And don't cry. I don't think I'm worth that much." I get up and walk away.
"Peeta!" She pleads. "Peeta!"
But I'm already of the beach and in my car.
What did I just do?
Did I just walk away from her because I want to hurt her? I don't do that....I'm not that kinda guy! I'm not gale!
She's gonna go to gale now..
I get out the car and rush to the beach again. It's been like 20 seconds since I left and was sat in my car but she's already halfway down the beach and I dancing. At least I think she is.
It's not what I expected.
KATNISS POV:
When your angry of just really happy you dance. That's what professionals do. I've seen it. So I think I will try.
I run further down the beach and let the tears dry on my face. I take off my cardigan and place in on top of my shoes. I press play to a song.

Of course.
I let my feet sink in the sand and as the music fills the air. I then dance.
I do tricks I never thought I could do.
I guess my emotions drive me even more. It's like if I put every ounce of my heart into this dance, I will be free.
Free like a bird. Like a mockingjay!
Peetas probably back in his dorm calling Abbie. I thought he was better then that. I really did. But he just wants to hurt me.
After doing loads of turns and spins, I run in and out of the water.
I then pick up my cardigan and shoes. I put my phone into back pocket and connect the Apple EarPods to my phone.
Music plays as I walk along the beach and cut through the forest.
"Nice music." I turn around and see Peeta standing there. His eyes are red and puffy. Has he been crying? No, he can't be. I'm not worth that.
"Look behind you!" I point behind him. He turns around. While he's figuring out that nothing really was behind him; I hide.
"Katniss?" He says. "Look I know your hiding from me."
I start walking back to dorm praying that he doesn't see me.
I open the door and carefully sneak into my bed. Last day of the weekend tomorrow. I soon drift off to sleep.
FINNICK POV:
Peeta still isn't back. What has he been doing?
Can't believe me and Katniss are brother and sister. I mean I knew his old surname was Everdeen. Wait Minute, Katniss said that she watched her father die when she was little. So how does this work.
I call Katniss she answers strait away.
"Hello?" She says. "Why ya calling?"
"Just come over we need to talk." I tell her.
"Okay...hold on." I hear some moving around then the door opens and Katniss comes in.
"Ok I'm here what ya want?" She folds her arms and I laugh.
"Um I'm really confused sorry to say this bit if your dad...died...how could marry my mum?"
She sits down next to me on the sofa.
"My dad..died....um like 4 years, 5 years ago." She pauses. "When did your mum get married?"
"2 years ago." I say. She shakes her head.
"We can't be related." She states.
"Maybe he didn't die." I suggest.
"No! He died! I watched him!" She raises her voice.
"You sure about that?" I open
My phone up and call 'step dad'
He picks up and I yet him on speaker.
"Hello finnick. Everything ok." He asks.
"Yes sorry of I woke you I just have a friend that I wants you to speak to."
I hold the phone out to Katniss..
KATNISS POV:
I take the phone and put it to my ear.
"Hi, MR Odair, I was....."
"Sorry to interrupt you but...have we spoken before?"
He is my father.
"Dad?" I barley choke out.
"Katniss?"
"Yes dad it's me!" I say into the phone. I look at finnick and he has a smile on his face.
"But dad how are you alive?" I hear him laugh on the other end of the phone.
"We'll when they took me to a hospital in district 4," he pauses. "I got better."
"Why didn't you come back?" I get a little angry.
"I'm sorry but I really liked it here and when I call your mother she told me not to return."
"What!" I shout. Finnick covers my mouth with his hands and points to the other room where the boys are sleeping.
"Sorry." I whisper to finnick.
"Look, I've gotta go. Tell finnick to give me your number and we can talk about this more. I'm sorry katniss, love you." Then the line goes dead.
I look up at finnick.
"Believe me now?" He smiles.
"I'm flawless!"
"No your not!" I laugh.
"You wanna go there?" He lunges for me and picks me up and throws me over his back.
I try kicking him I'm the face but it doesn't work. He loosens his grip on me and I go crashing towards the floor.
So it ends up me doing and handstand backwards.
"Good job your flexible!" He says As he tries to pull me back up.
"Yeah shame about you though." I laugh.
I swing my feet around his shoulders and he goes flying over me landing on his front.
"I'm dead!" He jokes.
I take his arms and hold them back.
"What do you say?" I ask him.
"Finnick is the sea god?" He says sarcastically.
FINNICK POV:
She pulls my arm tighter.
"I wouldn't do that!" I assure her. Even though I can only see the floor I know she's confused.
I laugh loudly.
"You have no idea what I'm capable of." She states.
"Oh it's on girl!" I whisper.
She runs around the sofa with me chasing her.
KATNISS POV:
Suddenly theres a knock at the door. I disappear behind the sofa as Peeta enters. He hasnt seen me since some odd time in the morning at the beach. That makes me realise how tired I am.
"Dude where have you been?" Finnick asks.
"Somewhere." Peeta shrugs.
Finnick laughs, "Ok man." Peeta nods at him then goes over into the other room.
"im gonna go.." I say quietly as i get out from behind the sofa.
"Ok then." Finnick says. I walk towards the door bit stop myself. I turn around and hug. Finnick.
"Thank you," I whisper.
"Can't believe you didn't know." He tells me.
"See ya!" I wave goodbye to him as I open the door.
"Bye sis." He says. And for the first time I can say:
"You too bro."
FINNICK POV:
She was so happy to hear her dad. And I know what to do now. I think I should arrange him to come down to the academy and surprise visit Katniss.
"What have you been doing?" Peeta says as he walks Ito the bathroom.
"Just chatting with katn.."
"That's good what you still up?" He splashes water in his face.
"You ok?" I ask.
"Fine I guess." He drys his face then walks into the bedroom.
"I'm gonna sleep." He says.
I sit on the sofa and switch on the TV. And my eyes eventually close.
KATNISS POV:
It's now 10AM and I can't sleep any longer.
I get out oft warm bed and have a shower. I wear a deep red jumper and black skinny jeans with of course red converse. I put my hair and I Waterfall braid then quickly but my makeup on and head out.
I feel like I've not talked to the girls since Friday. Even though it's to says its feels like a month.
They are like my sisters. Like my family.
I walk into the Starbucks store on the beach and order a hot chocolate. I sit in the window seat and watch as people go about their daily business.
The feeling troubles me for a long time. I'm so confused about something and I have no idea what! I think I'm starting to go crazy.
"KATNISS!" Gale yells from outside. I look around to see him standing on the beach waving me over. At first I don't want to go but; I have finished my drink, and I have nothing else to do.
"Haven't seen you," gale begins.
"Save it! I'm not in the mood!"
"Your being a big headed.." He says.
"No I'm not, I'm just confused." I say bitterly.
"Are you dum?" He says. "How can you be confused?"
"Think what you want." I mumble.
"Your just....so stupid!" He says.
"Thanks," I tell him sarcastically.
"Your ugly!"
"Everyone beautiful in there own way!" I give him a come back so fast he get confused at me. He thinks I would just back down and let him call me this? He doesn't know me at all.
"You look quite fat today." He laughs. Burn.
"Oh I'm sorry I forgot I was going for the slimmest award outfit!" I shout.
"Don't yell at me!" He threatens.
"Free country. I can do what I want." I mumble.
"Don't mumble." He points at me. So I roll my eyes.
"Don't.."
"Shut it! Don't tell me what to do. I won't listen! I never have."
"Then go fatty! Run away! Be a coward." He taks a step closer.
"Just like you always have been."
He takes another step.
"Just like you always will be."
I don't know what to say to that. I just stare at him. He looks like he wants to slap me.
Everything that I do. Everything we've done together. All the memorise. Everything. With gale. All my hurt, all the pain. Everything I every disliked about him. All of that I put into my arm as I slap him. He sences why I did that and goes to throw a punch. But I grab his fist I twist his arm back. I am surprising strong now I'm fuelled with emotions.
"I will be your friend." I whisper to him.
"But never your best friend again."
I push him over on the sand and walk away.
I hear gale coming up behind me but then he stops and Peeta is standing in front of him.
"Peeta?" I turn around to him and gale.
"You ok?" He asks.
"Fine," I say irritated.
Gale sulks of and then Peeta turns to me.
Right now, all I want to do is cry. But I don't. I just explain.
"You ok?" I ask.
"You want the truth?" He snaps.
He doesn't make eye contact with me and looks in another direction.
"Go back to Abbie she likes your kindness." I try to hint at the word kindness.
My phone vibrated and me and Peeta make eye contact for a fraction of a second, then he goes back to being rude to me again.
I look at my phone and gale is text me the things he said and few minutes ago.
GALE: don't care if you don't like me
GALE: your fat
GALE: your ugly.
GALE: I can still do things
GALE: watch your step
GALE: coz I'm out for revenge
Peeta looks at my phone.
"What's that?" He asks.
"Um..." I was expecting him to look away but instead our eyes lock.
"Just gale," I say.
"Just gale?" Peeta repeats. "What's he doing?"
"Oh nothing," I state as I look at the floor.
"Really? I know when your lying." He says.
"I know. I'm sorry." I look down "And hay, if you want to stay mad at me, I understand."
"Sorry," he mutters.
"Why?" I'm saying these words without thinking.
"Why?" I say "why Can I never seem to figure you out! One minute your rude to me the next minute your saying how you sorta need me, next we are just friends, Now Your Saying Your sorry!"
He doesn't say anything just stares at me.
"I could never stay mad at you." He finally admits.
"I'm so confused!" I says. I put my face in my hands.
"We'll when you have made up your mind, I be here, but until then..." His words fade along with himself as he carries on walking away.
Abbie finds him in the distance and goes running over to him. I let out a big sigh. But then I realise.
He's gone because he wants me to chose. He thinks I still like gale.
He wants me to make my decision.
But I know my choice. It's pretty clear now.
Like many other things.
If I choose between Gale or Peeta I know who it will be.
Because together we will be stronger.
