I smiled as I looked at myself in the mirror. Myself and Dom were gonna go out to a club tonight to celebrate a friends birthday. We didn't have a specific dress code since it's a club but paparazzi was gonna be there since Dom is there and I wanted to look decent otherwise social media always has something bad to say about you. I put some finishing touches to my makeup as Dom walked out of the bathroom. "What the fuck Y/N?" He questioned as I looked at him puzzled. "That dress is way to short." He said as I rolled my eyes. Here we go again.
Since myself and Dom started dating, he's been super overprotective. It is sometimes nice because he's alway standing up for me but often it does get out of hand. We've had countless argument about it and he always tells me "It's for your own benefit" but sometimes I wonder if it's because he's just the jealous type and won't admit it.
The last fight similar to this was at my friend Annabelle's wedding. I wore a stunning pink dress that had a long v-neck that showed a bit of cleavage. Let's just say Dom wasn't happy and made me redress with a very simple blue dress which definitely covered all aspects of my body. It was super frustrating because I just wanted to dress and feel pretty but instead I'm thrown into nun clothing.
"Come on Dom, I'm not changing again like last time." I said as I turned my attention back to my makeup. "If you dressed sensibly, we wouldn't be in this situation in the first place." He said as I stopped dead in my tracks. He does this every single time, makes me seem like the bad guy when in reality, what I'm wearing really isn't that bad. I'm wear a short pink dress that even if I bend over, you cant see my underwear. This guy had some other type of issues that I didn't feel like questioning.
"What do you mean?" I asked as I looked at him. "You're dressed like a slut Y/N. Might as well be one." He mumbled the end part but oh I heard it. I shook my head in disbelief and disgust as I grabbed my purse. "If I'm such a slut, then just break up with me already because God for bid your reputation is ruined by a fucking pink dress. I'm leaving. Find your own way there." I said as I walked downstairs and got into my car.
I was so angry that my knuckles turned white while driving. How could he say that? But it's fine when he wears almost nothing at a beach on holiday but God for bid I wear a bikini. I was getting angrier and angrier as the drive continued but finally I arrived at the club. I sat in the car for a bit, trying to calm myself down knowing that it's my friends birthday, she's the star of the show.
I got our of the car and was met with paparazzi. Many took pictures and asked questions like "Where's Dom?" "Did you guys break up?" I rolled my eyes as I walked into the club. But I mean, did we break up? He hasn't called me back, nothing. Maybe we have and I guess that's for the best. I couldn't handle being treated as if I'm 12 years old going to my first social event.
I saw my friend as she ran up to me and gave me a big hug. "Happy birthday!" I said as I handed her the gift I bought her." Thanks love. Where's Dom?" She asked as I sighed. "Another fight. He just overstepped a bit." I said as she nodded. "Don't worry about him okay! Just enjoy your night with me please." She said as I nodded and smiled at her.
The night was a lot of fun actually. I was able to socialize with all my friends and dance without being pulled aside to be told that I shouldn't dance that way. As the night continues, I realized how controlling Dom is. I love Dom, I really do but my happiness come first in the end. I walked to the bar to get another drink and felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned around to be faced with a pretty old looking man licking his lips. "Hi sexy. This dress looks amazing on you." He said as I looked at him. "Sorry not interested. But thanks." I said as I turned my attention back to waiting for my drink.
"Oh come on. We could have such a great time. I bet you'll be begging for more." He said as I cringed. "Please dude. I'm not interested." I said as I looked at him. He then put his hands on my waist but I slapped them away as fast as I could. He got angry pretty quickly which scared me. "I don't take no for an answer sweet cheeks." She said as he tried to kiss me. "Come on bro, she said she's not interested." The bar tender said as I looked at him and smiled at him for sticking up for me.
"She totally is." He said as I rolled my eyes. This guy was getting on my nerves. "Listen bro. I'm not fucking interested. I have a boyfriend. If you fucking touch me one more time, I'll beat the living shit out of you." I said as I pushed him away. I did take self defense classes so I knew exactly what to do if push comes to shove. "Please, that doesn't work on me. I don't see your little boyfriend anywhere." He said as he put his hand on my thigh. "I'm right here dickhead." I heard behind the man.
As the man turned, he got punched in the face by the one and only Dominic. Dom then grabbed my hand as we walked out of the club. Oh great, here comes another lecture. "Where's the keys?" He asked as I grabbed my purse and handed it to him. "Did you walk here?" I asked as he nodded. We both got in the car and started driving. The drive was terribly awkward. I wasn't paying much attention to where we were going but soon we stopped in our driveway.
"I'm sorry." Dom said as I turned to him. "I'm sorry that I'm so overprotective. You don't deserve it. I just don't want people to look at you and steal you. I'm so in love with you and I just wanna make sure you're safe so dickheads like the one at the club don't hurt you. I'm so sorry Y/N. You didn't deserve to be called a slut. You're not a slut. I'm so sorry." He finally finished as I smiled at him. I knew from the beginning he was coming from a good heart but it did get a bit out of hand. "Thank you for apologizing. I really appreciate why you do it but please it does get a bit much." I said as he nodded. "Agreed. Am I forgiven?" He asked as I smiled at him.
I nodded as he placed him lips on mine. From now on, there won't be any arguments and I will definitely carry pepper spray with me.
