jeongguk ended up bringing taehyung straight home. he felt like combusting with how many different random smells were mixed to taehyung's. the only thing that could finally calm his wolf was to bring taehyung to his nest and scent the hell out of the omega, hiding him from the world.
jeongguk didn't let taehyung walk one bit, opting to carry him from the car to the house and anywhere inside the house, including the bathroom. knowing how protective jeongguk's alpha was, taehyung let his husband do all the work, maybe it was okay being extra dotted once in a while, especially right now when he felt infinitely grateful for it.
jeongguk threw away taehyung's work clothes, changing him into one of the alpha's baggy shirt, boxer, and fluffy socks after washing the omega clean. then he proceeded to carry the omega to the bed so they could cuddle comfortably.
jeongguk's heart was still beating fast, anxiety clouding his mind. as today's events replayed in his head, he couldn't contain the deep growl working past his throat. he had been very scared when he smelt taehyung's scent coated with fear, their mating bond had also fluctuated wildly because of the omega's distress. remembering how that alpha kid touched his mate had almost brought back his lividness if taehyung had not pulled jeongguk's ears, putting the alpha's head on his scent glance and cutting his mate's thoughts before he could go rampant again.
jeongguk inhaled deeply, arms tightening around taehyung as he tried so hard to pull the omega closer than possible to his body, completely hiding the lithe body with his.
they stayed like that for hours in tranquil silence, minds racing faster than their syncing heartbeats.

seokjin had almost crashed his car onto a tree in his haste to drive to the jeon's house. he could swear that he had experienced heart attack as soon as namjoon inform him what happened at school. if only he hadn't been fucking stupid for not turning off the stove, he still could have been with taehyung and protected him.
he was such a useless brother. why did these kinds of thing always happen? why did he always have to be late? why, why--
no, he shouldn't think like this. his brother needed him. if he was not right in the mind, how could he provide taehyung his protection and safety? he could let his mind eat him away later, keep away the demons until taehyung had been basked with absolute comfort.
jin found the the door locked but he had spare keys so he wildly waltzed inside, finding the pair cuddling inside their bedroom, body tangled complicatedly that it was hard to look where the other ended with. sensing his arrival, jin was immediately greeted by a pair of red glaring eyes. jeongguk had always been scary whenever he got into this state, but seokjin compressed his fear and pulled forward to smack the alpha's shoulder softly.
"move away, you big wolf," seokjin sobbed, extreme worry etching on the edge of his trembling voice, eyes teary. "taehyungie, are you okay?! please let me see you."
"hyung!" taehyung let out a sob, wriggling out of jeongguk's hold which turned to be completely futile. knowing how the alpha wouldn't release taehyung any time soon, seokjin went to the other side of the bed and hug the younger omega tightly.
"oh, God, I'm so worried," seokjin cried on top of his little brother's head. "I'm so glad you're okay. I would have died if anything happen to you."
"no, no, hyung, I'm fine," taehyung reassured his hyung. he was the one being attacked but now there were two big babies who cried for him, clinging for dear life. "gukkie and joon hyung saved me. please don't cry, hyungie, I'll be sad, too."
"yes, yes, I won't cry again," seokjin wiped all his tears, trying to control his pheromone who had been radiating fear and distress. he let out shuddering breath. "I'm so glad..."
"yeah, good," taehyung giggled melodiously, almost sending jeongguk and jin to an early death. "you, too, calm down, gukkie. it's time to snap out of it and move on. we haven't even cooked for dinner."
"take out," was all jeongguk growled out before tucking his head further into the hollow of taehyung's collarbones. taehyung laughed at his husband's clinginess and messed the alpha's hear fondly.
namjoon came to the house two hours later, exhaustion was painted clear on his handsome face. he hugged taehyung tightly as soon as he arrived, then patted jeongguk's head to show how proud he was that the younger alpha could control himself so well.
"the kid was expelled, I've dealt with the parents," namjoon told them. "everything's fine now. I'm so sorry for what happened today, tae, it's hyung's fault for not being there sooner and for letting such things happened to you," guilt laced densely on namjoon's voice. he looked so composed if only the tremble on his hands didn't go past the other's eyes.
"it's not you fault, hyung," taehyung sighed. "I should've dealt with this problem better. I'm an adult yet I let myself be treated that way and make you guys worried."
"no, taetae, it's not you fault," namjoon countered back. "please never apologise for anything that happened to you. from now, I promise to do my best to protect you from any harm."
taehyung cried as namjoon pulled him in his arms, "you've done more than enough, hyungie. thank you..." seokjin and jeongguk watched from behind, both with smile on their face.
"and you guys better not think anything bad about yourself," namjoon suddenly said, eyes zeroed on seokjin and jeongguk. "what happened already happened. it's useless if you keep beating up yourself for nothing. the best thing to do is to learn the lesson lest things like this happen again."
jeongguk grumbled but gave the elder alpha a short nod while seokjin let out a windpipe laugh, "yes, yes, our counselling guru." namjoon felt better hearing the two's response. though namjoon knew jin's laugh wasn't half real. he knew the omega still needed more reassurance, that was why namjoon promised himself to spoil his mate as much as possible after they went home.

"I'm totally fine, jeonggukie!" taehyung insisted, hands flapping wildly on the air. "why can't you see that?!"
jeongguk growled loudly but taehyung didn't back down. he would turn this big, bad alpha of his into a puppy just so he could go to work and maintain his perfect working attendance.
"I applied ointment to my bruise, bask myself with your scent, let you molly-coddle me like a baby--what more do you exactly need to calm down?!" taehyung almost shouted in his desperation. honestly, he thought this shouldn't be a great deal anymore, things like this already happened a few times back when they were in high school and uni. they should have got used to this. his husband disagreed with his opinion, though.
"can't you understand my feelings? you were so scared, and so was I!" jeongguk shouted back, completely furious. "how can I fucking calm down when I found my mate being attacked in the middle of a fucking corridor?! do you even understand what kind of dangerous situation you just got into?"
"I was the one attacked, I should be the one stressed out! yes, I know you're worried but I'm fine! You should be fine, too!" taehyung's face had turned deep red in anger. "let's end this fight! move on!"
"how can I move on when I'm always unable to save you?!" jeongguk screamed, eyes becoming teary because of frustration. "you have to deal with this every single time and it's hard for me, taehyung! if not because of consideration, I would've locked you here, away from those bastard alphas!"
"the hell, jeongguk, don't you ever dare consider that!" taehyung fiercely growled. "like I said before, it's not your fault I got attacked! stop blaming yourself!"
jeongguk punched the sofa where he sat. the sofa bounced hard due to his strength but taehyung knew the alpha had been restraining himself so hard because he could have easily drill a hole through the thing. the alpha's expression betrayed the display of violent strength, though, as taehyung could see how tears had cascaded jeongguk's cheeks and taehyung was reminded again back when they were so young and fought hard like there was no tomorrow. jeongguk looked so young and lost, taehyung felt bad.
the omega then placed his lithe fingers on top of the alpha's clenching fist. he sat beside jeongguk closely, emitting calming pheromones to make his husband relax. "I'm so sorry, gukkie, I admit I didn't put your feelings much into consideration. but you have to know that I'm not as weak as before. do you know why I insist on going back to work? because it made me feel strong that I'm doing what I want, and because I know you're there and will always protect me.
"I know if I were to stay home one day, it'll just continue with you 'til probably many weeks," the omega pouted, giving the alpha his ultimate puppy eyes while he brushed away the alpha's tears.
"my hubby is the strongest alpha. I trust him so much that I don't feel scared anymore," taehyung giggled, pleased when he saw jeongguk's eyes sparkle again. his alpha was such a tiny, cutie puppy. "so please, let's keep the bad thing in the past and go to work together, jagiya~" and last, came the aegyo, the ultimate weapon taehyung used to persuade his husband.
jeongguk sighed, pulling taehyung into his chest and squeezing tight. "fine, but you be careful. always call me before and after your class."
"yes, sir," taehyung said, patting the alpha's back softly. he kissed the alpha's neck.
"promise me."
"yes, I promise, hubby~"

"taehyungieeeee!" jimin hugged his bestfriend tightly. "I heard what happened to you, I'm so glad you are okay! why are you even coming to work today?!" jimin and yoongi hadn't been at school when the attack happened because they had to attend a school sports workshop as the school's representatives.
"jiminieeeeee!" taehyung cooed back, plastering himself as tight as possible. "I'm fine, don't worry! why should I not come at work and not see you?"
"aww, taehyungieeee... let's not be separated ever again!"
"no, we can't do that, jiminie," taehyung cackled. "yoongi hyung won't like that very much."
"yoongi can just suck it up," jimin grumbled, squeezing taehyung tighter like a koala.
"hey, I heard that," yoongi said from behind. the man flicked jimin's head hard, resulting a painful groan coming from his mate. "glad you're okay, kid. jimin and I were so worried," the alpha then mussed taehyung's hair with, face lacked of expression. but taehyung could still sense a hint of worry and fondness in his voice.
all the teacher fellows had expressed their worries for taehyung, swarming him as soon as he arrived. everyone was very glad the young omega teacher was okay both physically and emotionally. happiness had covered the gloomy morning as they saw how taehyung had bounced back to his usual self and things went back to normal for weeks.

"gukkie, stop bringing so many boxes of banana milk! we don't need that many," taehyung scolded the alpha. it was Sunday and they were shopping groceries together. the omega was busy searching for things they needed when jeongguk brought four boxes of his favourite banana milk. "one is more than enough, babe."
jeongguk countered back by pouting, but soon gave up when the omega didn't budge, bringing back the other three boxes.
after he came back, jeongguk pushed the trolley to the food section with taehyung reluctantly walked between his arms. the two had been so immersed in their domesticity that they didn't notice a pair of eyes watching them like a hawk.
the grocery store taehyung and jeongguk went was only 10 minutes walk so the pair went back and forth just by walking because not only they could implement the eco-life value, taehyung loved watching their surroundings and greeting their neighbors, jeongguk could also work out by carrying almost the whole bags by himself.
over all, today was a great and relaxing day. basking in the sunset light, they both enjoyed their routine activities in peace. both completely oblivious to what was about to come.
