It's the striking moment
When you
Have just seen
A white crystal
Form
And fall from the sky
Landing on your purple
Mitten
As a slow smile
Crosses your lips
And you laugh
For no reason
The moment
You sit near a fireplace
Watching the flames
Singe the wood
To bits
Inevitable
Reflection in your eyes
As you stare
And thoughts
Are silenced
It's a moment
When you are in the car
With you uncle and aunt
Or maybe your mom and your dad
And you begin to sing
To a song
Together as one
United
For a moment that's brief
But enough
That it has sunk
Into your memory
The moment
When your in
That one person's
Embrace
That feels like home
Warm and soft
A touch that lingers
Kissing your skin
Staying in your pores
Pooling to your nerves
That moment
When you listen
To that one song
That understands it all
And you shut your eyes
Thinking
If only I could stay
Right here
Forever
Your lips move
Slightly to the words
Then stop altogether
As you listen to the lyrics
That are ageless
