Daddy's Little Girl

I once saw you

The way you wanted me to

As faultless

And kind

A perfect gentlemen

Dad

Thats until the split

When my heart used to sit

In the palm of your hands

The perfect man

You became a partier

You abandoned me at her front door

So you could go party

Some More

Every sip of poison you drank

Every heart you broke

Made me choke

And fall deeper into

A never ending dark hole

I begged one night for you to stay

For you swayed in a way

That I knew you were not okay

But to my dismay

You left anyway

Mom started to notice

My sudden change

Like liquor to the mind

I was numb

It was not a stage

The pages I would turn

Were my escape from the burn

So when you left

With your bags in hand

I was to engrossed

In my own world to understand

Frankly at that point I did not give a damn

So I didn't give a hug to my once

Dear ol'e dad

Who lost himself in the lights

Not even putting up a Fight

And never coming back into Sight
