Pay the Ferryman

5 1 0
By NadineMcgee

Pay the ferryman

The dead line up

At the body of aqua which decides their fate

Impatient souls, with prices on their heads and chains on their chests

The nervous tension is like demon bait

They may have had good intentions

A good heart

Or were blissfully ignorant

Of the true hate, torture and pain that others inflict

Perhaps they were cruel,

Unkind and unjust

Their body and minds filled with greed and lust

It is when the dead are lined up

When they loosen their chains and pay the price

When they travel across the vast aqua

When they pay the ferryman
