“Hobbits love codfish!” I laugh.
Then I freeze in my seat.
I didn't really just say that, did I? N-No, I- I couldn't have, I- How could I be so stupid!? Now everyone's going to know, and I've tried so hard to keep it a secret, a-and-
“Yeah, fish and chips, man,” Pierson chuckles as his in-game character continues to run in circles around the Minecraft Musical Chairs arena. Thank goodness.
This happens all the time. I'll be recording a Minecraft session with some of my friends, ad the I'll make a stupid slip-up that very nearly gives away my biggest secret. Every time, though, Pierson or one of the others will unknowingly cover for me.
Or maybe it's not unknowingly.
Maybe they know.
Oh my gosh, what if they do know? They must hate me! Oh, what if they hate me!? I can't handle that! Ugh, what am I gonna do? I don't know what to do, I don't know, I don't know-
“I don't know!” I say loudly. My eyes widen, and I only miss half of a beat before adding casually, “what song this is.”
“I think it's- yeah, it's Radioactive,” Joe informs me, and once again I internally melt at his perfect voice.
Yeah, I know, I've got it bad.
“Nooo! Cam!” Pierson exclaims, and I snap out of my thoughts only to realize my character has failed the mini game and fallen into the void. Whoops.
“Hey, you alright, buddy? You seem a little out of it,” Joe comments.
What do I say!?
“He was probably distracted by my rambling about whether or not I was on the right color,” Pierson suggests in an apologetic tone.
“Yeah, that's all,” I confirm. And, once again, Pierson has saved my butt without even knowing it.
Or what if he does know it!?
Here we go again...

“Dude, you're getting worse at hiding it,” Pierson warns me, shaking his head. Joe left not long ago, but Pierson wanted me to stay so he could talk to me about something- about this.
I am terrified.
“W-What do you mean?” I ask. “Hiding what?”
Pierson rolls his eyes. “Your crush, stupid.”
I fidget under his gaze, shifting my weight from foot to foot and pushing my glasses up farther on my nose. “What crush? I-I don't have a crush.”
“Cameron,” Pierson groans, facepalming and peeking out at me through his fingers. “Seriously.”
I sigh, whispering, “How'd you know?”
“It was pretty obvious, to be honest.”
“Oh no, oh gosh, oh- he- does he know?” I ask frantically, worry taking over my thoughts.
Pierson quickly shakes his head, smiling slightly. “Oh, no. I didn't even know it was possible to be that oblivious. And, as far as I know, none of our friends have noticed yet, either. Though, if you keep this up, they're bound to notice eventually.”
“I can't help it!” I whine, falling back onto a chair and squeezing my eyes shut in frustration.
“Why don't you just tell him how you feel?” Pierson asks.
My eyes fly open, and I jump out of my chair. “No way, never! Why on earth would I do that!?”
“He might feel the same.”
“Or he might not!”
He shrugs. “But he might.”
I huff and march toward the door. “Forget it.” Before I leave, though, I turn and give Pierson a pleading look. “Please don't tell anyone,” I beg in a whisper.
He smiles reassuringly. “Don't worry. I won't... Although I really think you should-”
“Bye! See you later!”

Hghrules: Mmm, gimme a minute.
Okay, according to every fanfic ever, if they can just get over their love for each other, they'll live happily ever after.
PedroAlexander27: -.- I'm serious, Hannah.
Hghrules: Fine, fine.
Just, uh, just... omigosh, you should play some lovey-dovey Minecraft game and force them to be each other's partners. XD

“You've got to be kidding me,” I whisper to myself as I log on to the server Pierson gave me.
“So, let's pick teams!” Pierson says cheerfully. “I'll be with Ainsley, and Cam can be with Codfish.”
“You have got to be kidding me,” I repeat.
“Cam, stop saying that,” Pierson scolds me lightly.
He did this on purpose, didn't he? He planned this!
“Oh, cool. What game is this?” Joe asks as he logs onto the server.
“I told you, it's a secret!” Pierson laughs as his character jumps around pointlessly on the computer screen.
“I know what it is!”Ainsley, Pierson's little sister, announces.
Pierson scowls and nudges her. “Shut up and log on, Ainsley, we're all waiting for you.”
“Okay, okay, I'm coming.”
“Everyone's here, Pierson, now tell us what the game is!” Joe says excitedly. I groan mentally.
“This is a Valentines' Day game!”
“... But it's Christmas-”
“Shut up.”
“...”
“Anyways. The goal of this game is to put together the cheesiest first date,” Pierson explains.
“What!?” Joe shouts, his eyes widening in shock.
“This is ridiculous, I don't wanna do this!” I agree, ignoring the slightest pain in my chest at how much this idea of us dating seemed to appall my crush.
Pierson shoots me a 'be nice' look and then glances to Joe, who actually does look pretty hurt.
Oops.
“C'mon, you're just friends, right? Just have fun with this, it's nothing serious,” Pierson the Devil's Spawn says.
“Oh, I-I don't mind that part,” Joe says with a slight blush- omigosh. “I just- that's incest, you know. You can' date your sister.”
Pierson's cheeks turn bright red, and he refuses to look at anything other than his computer screen. “It's not- n-no. I told you, this isn't for real.”
“I don't know, she seems like your type,” I comment, feigning honesty. Ainsley makes a face.
Pierson stands up and walks out of the room without a word.
“Oops. My bad,” I giggle.
“Aw,” Joe coos, staring at me.
My eyes widen. Did I do something stupid? “W-What?”
His eyes are almost as wide as mine now. “What? O-Oh, nothing.”
Silence.
Ainsley snorts.
“Right, so I'm just gonna leave you guys alone for a bit,” she says, winking. I wince. “Why don't you two plan your cheesy date while I look for my brother?”
“Y-Yeah, o-okay,” Joe stutters, nodding nervously. Ainsley winks at us again in a creepy way and then leaves the room.
…
“So... this is awkward..,” I trail off.
“It wasn't awkward 'till you made it awkward.”
“Right.”
“Uh-huh.”
“So.”
“So?”
“Uh... So, what should we do for our cheesy, um...” I blush. “Date?”
“I dunno. Wait, are we planning on together, or are we each making one for the other person?” Joe asks.
“Uh, I think we're making one together...”
“Oh, okay. We should just make a stay-at-home move date in the Minecraft living room.” He smiles. “I'll buy- or mine, whatever – some fluffy pillows, and then we'll get popcorn and soda and cuddle beneath a soft blanket with the lights off.”
“H-How did you-?”
“A year or two ago, you explained your dream date to me,” he says, shrugging.
“And you remembered?”
“Of course I did!”
I try to hide my ginormous smile as we continue planning our cheesy 'date.'
