the five friends made their way into the small ice cream parlor that has been up since the 1950's. nini's friends looked at the parlor in disgust while nini stared at it with awe. the girl always had a love for old vintage things while the rest of her friends preferred new modern ones. nini approached the counter, scanning all of the different ice cream flavors.

"hi welcome to "scoops" what can i get for you?" the curly headed boy asked while he tied his apron around his waist. nini looked up from the ice cream and gave a smile to him.

"oh hi, can i get a scoop of cookies and creams in a cup please?" the girl asked as she tucked her hair behind her ear. ricky nodded his head and began to make the the girl's order, "do i know you from somewhere?"

ricky looked up from the ice cream and gave nini a half smile. of course, the nini salazar-roberts didn't recognize him. the boy didn't really expect her too, considering the fact that she only hangs out with her rich, popular friends.

"i literally sit right next to you in biology class," ricky revealed in a blunt voice.

nini muttered a quick "oh" and looked away to avoid the awkward tension of the conversation. he brought the ice cream to the cash register and rang nini up, "anyways, that'll be 3.75"

nini handed him a five dollar bill and gave me a smile, "keep the change...." she looked at the boy for an answer while he rolled his eyes at her.

"ricky. my names ricky bowen," the boy stated and grabbed the five dollar bill from him, "and thanks. see you around nini."

"see you around bowen," nini bluntly said and rolled her eyes as she stepped away from the counter. nini's friends looks at her with concern as soon as they saw her face.

"you okay neens?" gina asked as they walked out of the store. nini took a bite out of her ice cream and shrugged her shoulders.

"that ice cream kid gave me so much attitude for no reason," nini complained, "he literally got so pressed at me cause i didn't know who he was?"

ej scoffed and looked through the window of the parlor to look at ricky, "how does he expect you to know who he is? i don't even know who he is."

the girl shrugged her shoulders once again and rolled her eyes in defeat. nini leaned against her car while she enjoyed eating the last bits of her cookies and cream ice-cream.

"don't sweat it nini," carlos said to the girl. she nodded her head and took one last bite of her ice-cream before throwing it into the trashcan. nini and the rest of her friends talked and laughed on the outside of the ice-cream parlor without a care in the world.

"can you believe those people?" ricky said to his coworker as he wiped down the counters. he eyed the five friends as they talked outside of the ice cream parlor in front of their range rovers and porsche's.

"one can only dream of living the life they live," rico simply stated as he looked through the window, "i would love not having to worry about anything in my life."

"tell me about," ricky told his friend. he let out a deep sigh as he stared at the ice cream parlor shop in disappointment, "i just wanna make enough money to pay for college and move out of salt lake. i hate it here."

"retweet," rico states before heading towards the back of the shop. since no customers were in the shop, ricky decided to go on his phone to pass time. once he saw the girls tweet he immediately got infuriated.

before the boy could text his friends anymore, he heard the bell of the entrance door ring and he immediately put his phone in his pocket. he looked up to see the same girl walking up to him with an angry look on her face.

"how rude are you?" nini snapped as she stood on the other side of the counter.

"you think im being rude to you now? cause that was me being polite. you should see how i am when i'm actually rude," ricky retorted to nini with a devilish smirk on his face.

nini rolled her eyes and crossed her arms in front of her chest, "what the hell is your problem?"

"what the hell is your problem?" ricky snapped back, "upset that for once in your life someone doesn't like you? because news flash nini, i can name a handful of people who don't like you or your friends."

"like i care??" nini scoffed as she laughed in the boys face which only made him even more irritated, "you guys can spend all day hating on me and my friends when i don't even spend a second thinking about yours."

"i bet that makes you feel so accomplished, huh?" ricky asked as he stood over the counter. nini looked at him with anger as he just gave a whimsical smile .

"stop trying to act like you know me. you don't," nini defended herself. ricky rolled his eyes and leaned away from the counter once again.

"oh please," the boy groaned, "stop trying to act like your life is so hard when everything is literally handed to you. you don't know one thing about having a hard life."

nini scoffed and raised her eyebrows at him, shocked that ricky bowen had the nerve to say that to her face. she got out her wallet and threw 20 dollars in the tip jar.

"my bad. since other's have it worse, i guess no one else is allowed to feel shitty about their lives," she sarcastically said to ricky. ricky watched as the twenty dollar bill fell down the jar and scrunched his eyebrows at the girl.

"what the hell was that for?" ricky asked the girl who was putting her wallet away in her purse.

"oh i gave you tip to help you out since your life is so fucking terrible," nini elongated the word as she rolled her eyes, "and don't worry about it because since i have the perfect life, i can always ask my parents for another one."

and with that, nini turned her heels and made her way of the store leaving the poor boy astonished. he watched as nini and her friends drove away from the ice cream parlor and soon disappeared. the boy looked at the 20 dollar bill that sat in the jar, but didn't feel any sympathy for the girl.
