Tiana
1 week later

Pulling up to the place I'd now grown to hate, I cut my engine and got out of the car.

"Yo, T." I saw Leek on the porch with his arms opened wide and I couldn't help but to roll my eyes.

Making my way to the house and up onto the porch, I saw Leek, Zay and Dej all together

"What's up, T?" They all spoke.

"Hi." I spoke with no enthusiasm. I didn't even want to be here but I knew I had to be.

"Look at you looking all spiffy." Zay said to me and I couldn't help but to laugh. I'd had on my work outfit, simply business causal, since I'd just got off of work and came straight here.

"Is he here?" I asked, looking away from them.

"Na' he just left." Deja said, looking over my face and then down at my stomach.

"Oh." I rolled my eyes.

"Do you know when he'll be back?" I asked, turning around a little bit because I felt like she was onto me.

"Nope." She shook her head.

"But you can come inside until he gets back."

"No, I'll just-"

"Nope, come on inside." She cut me off.

"We need to talk anyway." She eyed me, standing to her feet.

I sighed deeply, knowing that I was caught now and I followed close behind her into the house.

We said nothing as we made our way into the dining room and both took seats. I watched as she looked over my face as if she was trying to get an exact answer to the question I knew she had in her mind.

"Yes, Deja." Was all I said and she raised her eyebrows.

"Yeah?"

"Yes." I said again with a simple nod.

"You kept it?" She went onto ask and I shrugged.

"Of course."

"I don't have to do what he says." I shook my head.

"Pause. He said you was the one that asked to get one."

"Yeah well he was the one that gave me the money for it." I sassed.

"He said he only gave you the money because he wanted to see if you was really gon' do it." She went on and I shrugged.

"Doesn't matter why he gave it to me. He gave it to me meaning he wanted me to have an abortion and I was close to it.."

"But I didn't, Deja." I explained to her and she nodded slowly with a smile.

"Look, Tiana."

"I know you and my brother ain't together no more and y'all hate each other and all that other childish shit. But can I please at least be happy about my niece or nephew?" She asked joking and I playfully rolled my eyes.

"Well.."

"I guess you can." I couldn't help but to smile as she did the same.

"And it's a boy. You're going to have a nephew." I broke the news to her and she gasped excitedly.

"For real?"

"Yeah." I couldn't help but to laugh at her, she was so happy. I just hoped that Dominic could take the news like that too and we could settle this like the parents we were both about to be.

"So that's what you here for? You gon' tell him today?" She asked and I nodded slowly.

"That's the plan."

"I just hope he can take it how you just did." I shrugged and she nodded.

"That nigga gon' be aight. He just in his feelings right now."

Moments later, we both quickly looked up once we heard the front door open.

"Tiana here?" I heard Dominic ask and I instantly became nervous but Deja gave me a warning look, mentally telling me to stay calm.

"Stop being so scared of that nigga. He ain't no fuckin' body." She went onto say, making me smile.

Calming myself, I watched as he walked into the dining room and just looked between the both of us.

"What the fuck gon' on?"

"Whatchu doin' in my crib, T?" He spoke bluntly to me as I sat there, forgetting everything I was supposed to say.

"I thought I told you I wun' fuckin' with you nomore."

"Bro." Deja spoke up, shaking her head but of course he didn't listen, he kept going.

"Na'.." He trailed off.

"The fuck you want?" He asked again while I sat there quietly.

"You aborted my fuckin' seed and I told you I ain't wan' shit else to do withchu, T."

"So gon' head, get the fuck outta my spot before we have a problem in this bitch."

"Dominic." I called, wanting him to stop.

"Yo, Deja. Get shawty out the crib before I really hurt her." He went onto say to her, ignoring me and she simply sat there, looking at him.

"You're so hurt, you don't even want to listen." I finally spoke up as he stood there scolding me.

"Ain't shit for you to say. I don't wun' hear shit."

"Dominic, stop." I told him and he scoffed.

"You want to play tough but you know it doesn't work with me. So just stop."

"You got a fuckin' abortion, Tiana. This shit over with." He went on, making me sigh.

"Ain't shit you can do or say to me no more."

"Nigga, shut the fuck up and listen to the damn girl." Deja ended up snapping, making me look over to her with relieved eyes.

"You won't even let her talk and you know she scary so she gon' let you continue to do the shit." She went on as I looked over to him.

"Can we just go upstairs and talk?" I went onto ask him and he shook his head.

"Na', say whatchu gon' say then get out my crib, T." He spoke bluntly and I sat there swallowing the lump in my throat.

"Man, let me go back outside before I get mad." Deja ended up saying.

"Nigga acting like a fuckin' female." She went on, making her way out and he flagged her while she did.

"Say watchu gon' say, ma. I got shit to do." He went on and I shook my head, looking at the person he'd become to me.

"You're so hurt and you're trying to mask your feelings but you know I can see right through all that." I said to him and he wouldn't even look me in the eyes.

"You gave me money to get an abortion but you didn't even want me to get an abortion, Dominic. Do you now see how stubborn you can be?"

"You said you wun' tryn' have a baby with me so I gave you what the fuck you wanted." He spoke sternly, making me shake my head.

"But you know I said that out of anger, just like you gave me the money out of anger." I said to him.

"Yo, T. I ain't tryn' hear this."

"I gave you the bread, you got the abortion, what more you want from a nigga?" He asked, still not even looking at me and I couldn't help but to shake my head.

"I didn't get the abortion, Dominic." Was all I said as I stood to my feet and his hard demeanor then went soft. But it was far too late, I was ready to go. He'd turned me off quicker than I'd thought he would.

Making my way out of the dining room and toward the front door, I could hear him following close behind me. As soon as I got the front door opened, he quickly slammed it closed.

"Whatchu just say?" He asked as I stood there with my back turned to him. He softly grabbed me, turning me around to him and I looked up into his eyes.

"Whatchu runnin' from me for?"

"Tell me what you just said." He went on as he grabbed my shaky hands, looking down into my eyes.

"You ain't get the abortion?" He asked and I said nothing but I shook my head no.

Sighing deeply, he licked his lips and put his head down.

"You ain't get it, T?" He asked again for confirmation and I shook my head no again.

"No, I didn't get it." I spoke so he could hear the words from my mouth.

"I couldn't do it." I admitted to him.

"To myself, to you or our son, Dominic." I said to him and he bit his lip, letting my hands go.

"It's a boy?" He asked and I nodded slowly, seeing that he was trying to keep up this hard demeanor on his face but I knew he was happier than ever. He couldn't even contain hisself.

Walking away from me, he went back into the living room and sat down onto the couch. I stood there for a while before he finally spoke.

"Come here, Tiana." He called and I slowly made my way over to him, sitting down beside him.

We sat there in silence as I waited for him to speak but he never did. He simply leaned over and put his face into the crook of my neck. I could feel wetness there and I instantly became remorseful. I'd obviously broke his heart just like he'd broken mine.

"Dominic." I called as he pulled away from me, quickly wiping his face so that I wouldn't see but his light skin always gave it away. His eyes were red and puffy from his tears.

He wouldn't even look at me now.

"Stop it." I told him, hating to see him like this.

"You don't have to play tough all the time, Dominic."

"I would never get an abortion without you there by my side making the decision with me."

"I would never abort any baby we make, no matter how much we hate each other in the moment." I assured him, knowing that he had finally broken.

He always wanted to play the tough act but it never worked with me. Never. I was his weakness and he was mine. And we both knew it.

"I'm sorry I hurt you in that way. It was below the belt and I shouldn't have did that to you. Especially knowing how bad you want a son."

"I'm not heartless like that and you know it."

"Just like you aren't."

"Come here, T." He then licked his lips, holding his hand out for me and I grabbed it, allowing him to pull my into his lap.

Looking up at me, I looked down into his eyes as we sat there saying nothing for a while.

"Thank you, ma." He finally spoke, breaking the silence.

"Real shit." He added.

"Thank you, T."

"You're welcome." I smiled small, looking down at my hands.
