24th August 1987
Lillianes POV
"We are here!" James said as we stopped infront of Garden Lodge.
Finally.
I missed Freddie and the kids.
I've directed this album and wrote four songs, in this period I recorded two with Michael. 'Bad' and 'Smooth Criminal' the other two we did a while ago were 'I just can't stop loving you' and 'The way you make me feel'. I'm really excited for it to release.
"Common my lady, get out." James said as I shrugged and quickly got out. He took the luggage and we opened the first door. I walked up to the house door and rang it.
"Hello?" I heard Lilys voice.
"Lily, I told you, I'm getting the door. You never know who is there." I heard Freddie say as he opened the door and shrugged when he saw me.
Suprise.
"I thought you'd come tonight." Freddie said as he hugged me tight.
"I can go." I chuckled.
"No, I think I can tolerate the bad behaviour of coming to early." He laughed as we walked in and James brought the luggage inside.
The next moment Lily hugged me and soon Henry and Jamie tackled me down and hugged me.
"Mum I missed you!" Henry said as I chuckled.
"I feel the same." I laughed as I stood up and gave them all a peck. "Did you guys behave well?" I asked.
"We behaved perfect." Henry said as Freddie raised an eyebrow.
He told me about pretty much everything.
"I'll ask your Dad later...." I mumbled as they all three froze, but I suddently heard a bark.
I thought he told me everything...
"What was that?" I asked as Freddie smiled nervously and then a Afghan hound puppy came around the corner.
WHAT?!
"You bought a dog?!" I asked.
"I needed something to shut the kids up." He hissed..
"You can't just buy a dog." I hissed back.
"Oh come on. You like dogs anyways, where is the problem!?" He said.
"You know how big and hairy they get?" I said.
"I learned afterwards, you know....." He mumbled.
"So you bought just any dog without knowing?!" I said.
"Noooooo...." He started. "I- I just didn't want to judge them off their breed, you know .....that personality counts." He said as the dog growled at him.
"If he growls at you, I like the personality." I grumbled as I looked at the pup.
He's cute though.
"It's a she." Freddie corrected me as I bent down to carress her and she let me do. Freddie gulped at that. "Oh god, she's gonna chop off your hand."
"Look at her, she's cute." I said.
"She's scaring my cats and when that thing is old enough it's sleeping outside." He grumbled as I chuckled.
"What's her name?" I asked as he smirked.
"Succubus." He laughed and also James beside me shrugged.
"You can't just call her that?!" James said. "There are children..."
"They don't know what it means, okay?" Freddie said with a sassy undertone.
"They will." James hissed.
"Are they your kids or mine?" Freddie asked.
"I'm Jamies Godfather." James grumbled. "I'll always take care of them." He mumbled.
"I see." Freddie muttered as he looked at me.
There is still a bit of tension between them, because of the drama.
"I better leave, Ben is waiting." James said as I gave him a hug and he walked off after saying a little goodbye to the kids.
"You must be tired." Freddie mumbled.
"It's alright...." I said.
"Errr.....We...We haven't been out in very long. How about 8pm tonight?" He asked.
Good idea.
"I think I'm free tonight." I said with a smirk.
"That's great, Phoebe will be with the kids." He said.
"I'm excited..." I mumbled.
"I'll get you at 8pm at the housedoor im the car, don't dare to be late." He said as I chuckled.
"No way I'll be late." I laughed.
We have a lot to talk about.
I tried to push away the fact of Freddies illness but I don't think that I can do it any longer.
A few hours later.
So it's 7.57pm and I am perfectionating my look with a little bit of parfume. I'm wearing a nice dress and a light make up look.
I better hurry now or I'll be late.
I looked at myself one more time before walking out of the room. I just wanted to walk down the stairs when I saw Freddie in a suit and he shrugged when he saw me.
"Hurry or you'll be late!" I hissed as he nodded, but then the kids saw us.
"Hold up." Henry said.
"What's going on here?" Lily added.
"Oh I'm taking your Mum out." Freddie said as I walked down the stairs.
"You guys stay with Phoebe." I said.
"Eeew." Jamie mumbled.
"There is nothing 'Eew' about this." Freddie said.
"Yeah, have fun." Jamie mumbled as he and his siblings walked off and we chuckled. Freddie offered me to hook in with his arm and I did.
"Phoebe we're out!" He said.
"Yes!" I heard Phoebe answer from another room.
"I thought you'd pick me up..." I mumbled with a smirk, while we were walking out.
"And I thought, I'd walk you to the car." He replied.
"So it was planned all along." I mumbled.
"Yes ma'am." He said as we left Garden Lodge and sat down in the car.
"So how was it?" I asked him as we put on our seatbelts and he started driving.
"Well, the kids surely listen more to you than me." He started. "And to be honest, my dick is also.... very lonely?" He said.
"Excuse you?!" I said as he shrugged.
"Oh sorry, I forgot that you are my wife for 7 years and we had the dirtiest talks and all kinds of sex. Forgot that I can't confront you with that." He said sarcastically.
He's right.
I mean yeah, my husband is a Rockstar, we had all kinds of sex.
"We're on a date, young man." I mumbled.
"I forgot." He mumbled as he out his hand onto my tigh and it caused goosebumps, but felt good.
We've known 14years and I still get goosebumps and become nervous.
"Very touchy...." I mumbled.
"Oh I just wanted to pull down your dress, don't mind me. I'm a Gentleman." He said as he smirked and pulled it down, eventhough it was long enough.
And even if I would wear a miniskirt Freddie wouldn't force me to not wear it.
He just wanted a excuse for putting his hand there.
In exchange my boobs were more exposed and I gasped while he started to laugh.
"Ahaha, I'm sorry darling." He said as I looked blankly and annoyed at him while he was still smirking. "Sorry." He said in a warm tone as I pulled my dress up again.
Idiot.
"Idiot." I mumbled.
"Your idiot." He said, pointing into his wedding ring. "FOREVER." He added.
"Where are we even going?" I asked.
"Ohh, somewhere special. Not the Ritz though, eventhough I would've prefered." He said.
"I see." I mumbled as I put my hand onto his knee and he put one hand onto mine.
"I'm glad that everything is quite alright again....you know..." He mumbled.
"We'll do this." I said. "We love our life and you know that." I added.
"I've lived my life to the fullest, I just wanna keep going with what I do, you know... Queen, having a Family or future projects." He said as I nodded.
"We shouldn't talk about this outside the doctors office." I mumbled as he nodded and he concentrated onto the street again.
We soon arrived infront of 'The Rules' restaurant, where we met again after our 2nd seperation about 9 years ago. I wanted to open the door to get out.
"Wait." He said as he got out before me and ran around the car to open the door and I chuckled. "As I said, I'm a real Gentleman." He said as he opened the door and I took his hand to get out.
"Thanks very much." I laughed as we walked inside.
"Remember this place?" He asked.
"And how I do." I said as we got walked to a table im a pretty quiet corner, which was way too big for us two. "You why so big?" I asked as he pulled out the stool for me amd pushed me in slightly.
"Having a big dick wasn't really my choice-" He started. "Ohhh you meant....ohhhhh." He said.
Well.
What a Gentleman.
"Well if you remember, you were dining at this table when we met and your Dad sat there." He said as he pointed onto my seat.
Ohhhhhhh.
"How do you know that, you weren't even in our sight." I said.
"Darling I was crazy for you and I still am. I was buying dozens of Magazines to look at you. So I also passed by this table a few times." He said.
"That's stalking,isn't it?" I said with a raised eyebrow.
"If you say so." He said. "You married your stalker though." He said.
"I fell in love with him, it isn't my fault." I mumbled as he smirked.
"I bet it wasn't easy for you either." He mumbled.
It wasn't.
"I couldn't listen to Queen, let's say it like this." I mumbled.
"Ohhh I pity you." He said.
"Yeah I really missed Brians guitar solos, 'I'm in love with my car' and Rogers sexy falsettos." I said sarcastically.
"I see." He said with a smirk. "Those were wild times...." He sighed.
Ohhh and how they were.
"I remember....." I chuckled.
"When I was in my thirties...." He mumbled.
"When I was in my twenties." I said sarcastically.
"Gosh you are young." He mumbled.
"It's seven years, Debbie and Rog have fourteen years differnece." I said.
"Yeah but Rog is the kind of person to feel young with a young wife. You make me feel old." He grumbled.
"What if I tell you that I'm not into little boys and I quite like a real man." I said with a flirty undertone.
"Well that changes everything." He said with a little nervous laugh as we started to order. We both went with 'Steak and wine'.
Moet et Chandon.
To be exact.
And I mean.
You can't eat fried chicken at a place like this.
Eventhough fried chicken is the best, we both know.
"How was it with Michael, I mean you recorded a few times with him now." Freddie asked.
"Ask me how it was recording with Louie the Llama, then I can give you an accurate answer." I mumbled as he chuckled.
"Man, people are crazy nowadays." He mumbled.
"It was..... awkward?" I chuckled. "Don't get me wrong, he's talented and all that but every two seconds: 'Louie what did you say?' 'Louie how do you like this track?' 'Wow Louie you look so good today'." I said imitating Michaels high voice as Freddie laughed.
"Oh my godness, you imitate him so good." He laughed as I laughed too.
"I did that while he was chatting with Louie." I said before I sighed.
"What would've happened if Rog wouldn't've met you back then....?" He mumbled.
"We would've met at fashion week." I said.
"Would we date?" He asked.
"Probably, I mean I knew Rog." I said.
"Yeeeeah, mabye." He said.
"Mabye?" I asked.
"Of course." He corrected.
I'm so happy eventhough we have a bad diagnosis.
We shouldn't waste time, thinking about that.
Freddie is right.
The thing is, Freddie and I trust each other more than ever. We know that lies won't last long between us. We don't interverne into each others buisness, unless it's wanted. He shot the 'I was born to love you' or 'Body language' video with other women and all that and I'm okay with it. Sure we get jealous at times but we know that we wouldn't cheat. I'm not in his way and I understand it when he's on tour more than a year. It's his dream and he's living it.
Already in 1973 I saw how involved and passionate he was with his music. Queen never did amateur gigs, they always had a proper sound, stage, set up and lights. He knew that he'd be famous some day.
We belive in each other and change each other. People belive that our relationship is wild and crazy, thinking we storm in and out of it every two weeks. They think that Freddie would be difficult and hard to handle every day and would cause drama, only because of his showman persona.
The press made Freddie force people into relationships, you know. He started to belive that it was how the press was saying it and went with it. The times he wasn't with me he had a lot of lovers.
A lot.
He forced them into something, but ended up getting his heart broken anyway. Like the moment where he got me in the hallway, here in the Rules restaurant. He seemed quite suprised by my rejection, which was obvious.
We tried it without each other and it didn't work, so we had to work with each other. Freddie is sometimes a baby and sometimes a bitch, but really kind and down to earth most of the time. Not many people understand him, unless it's his family, Phoebe, some other close friends or me. He's quite happy to not be the center of attention, but sometimes he can beg for my attention the whole day.
And I love him this way.
And I also know that if it wasn't for me Freddie probably would be with a man right now. I'm not bothered by his sexuality, I think at this point he doesn't bother to define it and let the press talk shit. Deep down Freddie is a soft guy and not always super masculine and dominant. Freddie is Freddie.
And I love that Freddie.
We don't need to be all over each other to show the public who we are and how strong our relationship is. We are best friends and husband and wife. We talk and discuss about stuff and it never gets boring. We spill tea as if we are highschool besties. Freddie broke my heart twice but he was also strong when I treated him like shit after the kids birth.
I saw how many scars Freddie had collected over the years, how broken he was. He was insecure about himself and scared that I'd leave him, especially in 1975. People say you shouldn't date people who aren't fully healed. I did date a broken man, I got my heart broken two times but now we are stronger than ever, I don't care how cheesy it sounds.
We won't let Aids get us down.
"Here you go." I suddently heard the waitress beside me as she put down the plates infront of us. "Enjoy your meal, if there is anything, just say it." She said with smile as we nodded and she walked off.
"Damn, I'm hungry." I mumbled.
"I love to hear that." He said. "Eat as much as you want darling." He said with a smirk.
"Oh I'm fine with this for now." I mumbled.
He really spoils everyone he can.
At least we both agree on not spoiling the kids.
"You want me to get fat huh?" I asked.
"You don't get fat..... you never have been and even if, I would love you the same, dear." He said.
"Oh really?" I asked with a smirk.
"Yes, really. In the 70s it was all about being in your weightclass , you were so skinny." He said.
"You were skinny too though." I said.
"Yeah but my tight pants weren't really tight on you." He mumbled.
"Well you saw me after birth, I was looking horrible." I mumbled.
I mean since I was only 7 months pregnant it wasn't too bad.
"Don't day that." He grumbled.
"And I still don't look good, I mean the stretchmarks are crazy and-" I started but he cut me off.
"Darling you are beautiful." He said. "Everything about you is beautiful also your stretchmarks." He said.
"If you say so." I mumbled.
"You wouldn't want Lily to talk about herself like that, incase she'd have children someday, would you?" He asked as I shook my head. "Well then stop doing it yourself."
"I guess you're right." I sighed. "When I find myself in times of trouble Father Freddie comes to me.....speaking words of wisdom..." I mumbled as we laughed.
He's right after all.
