MIDORIYA'S POV:
After hanging out with (L/n)-chan, I got right back to studies and working out as much as I can.
I tried to not think about the feelings that I had when hanging with her, but I still processed them a couple of times.
I had always felt a certain degree of that bubbly feeling around her, but yesterday they just got super intense. It was like a mix of happiness, anxiety, excitement, and calmness all together, which is totally contradictory.
Though as the rest of the weekend passed by, I decided to let it go and plan to ask Iida and Uraraka.
Before I knew it, we were back at school for our first days of written exams.
I arrived into class about the same time as I did everyday and like normal, there were only a few people before me, including (L/n)-chan.
As normal she seemed to be talking to Todoroki. She was sitting in his desk while Todoroki was sitting. She was laughing at something he said, probably something blunt that he muttered.
Either way, another weird feeling washed over me, almost a mixture of sadness, disappointment, and frustration. Though unlike the other feeling, I was able to pinpoint this one.
Jealousy.
The real question is, why was I jealous? (L/n)-chan and I were good friends, but that didn't mean she can't have other friends and I knew how close she was to Todoroki.
"Oh Midoriya! Morning!" I was suddenly snapped out of my thoughts by the very girl I was thinking about.
I quickly shook off any negative thoughts I had before and made my way to where she was.
"Good morning (L/n)-chan and Todoroki. How are you guys?"
They both replied with a small 'good' before (L/n)-chan spoke up.
"Midoriya. I know I've said it so much times now, but thank you so much for the study session! You've helped me so much." She said and my eyes lit up, there's that unknown bubbly feeling I get.
"I... uh. You don't have to thank me. I wanted to help." I shyly smiled to her and she smiled back.
"Also tell your mom I said thanks for the food, it was literally to die for!" She exclaimed.
"Totally." I replied.
"You went to Midoriya's house, (Y/n)?" Todoroki asked.
"Yup! I've been over a couple of times, I stayed the night over the weekend cause we lost track of time." (L/n)-chan replied.
Todoroki looked mildly shocked, like this was the first time he was hearing this.
"What? You want me to come over to your house too, Shoto?" She laughed.
"No. You're unbearable enough at school, I can't imagine spending an entire night with you."
"Hey!!" She continued to banter. "Anyway Midoriya, I think I might actually get a good grade on this so thanks!!" She said.
"I'm glad!" I told her.
Right after I said that, the bell rang.
"Good luck!" I said before heading back to my desk.
Soon after going back to my desk, people started crowding in and class started.
Aizawa-sensei gave a brief lecture on cheating and the repercussions and then he started passing out the test.
Once I had got mine, my eyes were immediately glued to the paper.
I went through the problems one by one. For the most part I was able to figure out the solution the questions pretty quickly, only getting stuck from time to time.
Halfway through this portion of the test, I started to think about (L/n)-chan again.
I took a quick glance at her, wondering how she was doing.
She was really fidgety. Her pencil spun around in one hand while the other was grasping the hem of her uniform blazer. She was bouncing her leg up and down rapidly and her face was contorted into an expression I couldn't quite read.
You could clearly tell that her anxiety was still getting to her. Luckily though, she seemed to be paying attention and really thinking about the question.
I have really high hopes for her and I truly think she'll meet those. She seemed to know the material well enough and what she didn't, I was able to explain to her. Plus, she seemed to have a positive outlook as well.
Slightly reassured I landed my eyes back on my own paper and continued the exam.
(TIME SKIP)
"Times up, pass your papers to the front." Aizawa-sensei called from the front. Everyone followed his instructions.
Once he collected all the papers, he announced lunch. I quickly made my way to Uraraka and Iida.
"Hey Midoriya!" (L/n)-chan called out to me and I turned around quickly.
Suddenly, smaller arms wrapped around my shoulders pulling me tightly into another person. I didn't even have time to process what was happening before my hearts sped up and I became wide eyed.
"Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank youuuuuuuuuuu!!!!!!" The (h/c) haired girl yelled close to my ear.
'So close!' I couldn't help but think even though this isn't the first time she's hugged me.
"U-umm..... no-no problem." She slowed pulled away from me, but kept her hands lingering on my shoulders.
"No seriously. I know I've said it like a thousand times, but I could actually kinda understand what was going on in the test. I'm sure I got at least a B!" She flashed the most blinding, amazing smile I've ever seen.
I was still extremely flustered, but I couldn't help but smile back, I was so extremely proud of the girl.
"I knew you could do it." I replied and she impossibly smiled wider.
She released her grip on me and started bouncing around. "I'm going to celebrate with a drink from the vending machine." And in a flash, she was out of the room.
"Well... she's got a lot of energy!" Uraraka beamed.
"We should probably head to the cafeteria now, she'll join us once she's finished." Todoroki enteres our group discussion.
We all agreed and left to the cafeteria. Once we got our food and sat down, I turned to my three friends.
"Can... I ask you guys something?" I asked and they gave me a questioning look.
"Sure! Do you want to wait for (Y/n)? I think she'll be here soon." Uraraka said.
"Well It's actually about her and I don't really want her to know." I scratched the back of my neck.
"Okay Midoriya, what do you want to say?" Iida inquired.
"Well... uh........... I-I guess that I've just been having this weird feeling around her recently." I started. "I don't know.... it's just like a feeling of happiness and nervousness mixed together a-and whenever she gets near me I get all red and embarrassed... which always happens, but it's more intense around her. And sometimes it's like.... I guess I just want to be around her all the time and I get really happy when she's happy. I guess I'm just wondering if you have any idea what I'm feeling. I know it's kinda weird, but that's all I know.
Uraraka's eyes seemed to shimmer while looking at me. "Deku... do you have a crush on (Y/n)?" She smirked and quirked a brow at me.
"A-a crush!?!?"
