Golgius suddenly appears behind Meliodas and Y/N, his sword raised.
"Good guess, try behind you," Golgius says. Meliodas and Y/N turn their heads, smirking.
"Good guess," Meliodas says.
"Try under you" Y/N finishes. They let out a cheeky chuckle as the floorboard beneath Golgius begins creaking before he falls through the floor.
"Jeez. It's so run down in here, he fell straight to the bottom" Hawk says, as he and Elizabeth look down the hole.
"Then that spell earlier," Elizabeth says.
"They cut the floor and set a trap for me," Golgius says, wood over his body. Meliodas and Y/N then appear in front of him.
"Your powers invisibility, isn't it?" Meliodas says, pointing a finger, crouched on the ground "There were gaps in time between when you would vanish and when you would show up again that was quite bugging us for a while. Someone who could teleport, leaving a scent trail was weird too"
"In other words, it meant that you must move of been moving on foot, just like we were. And it also meant you'd be forced to come through the room's only door" Y/N explains, fingers on the chin.
"Plus, fighting down here means we don't have to worry about protecting Elizabeth from you" Meliodas then uses how bladeless sword to strike Golgius out of the building and into a wall in the open. Meliodas and Y/N then make their way over to Golgius.
"Alright, let's get down to business (To defeat THE HUNS!!). Now, will you answer the question I asked before? Just what were your reason for going after Elizabeth and this sword of mine? And who was the person that ordered you to?"
"Sir Meliodas! Lady Y/N!" Elizabeth shouts, running over to the three.
"We were wondering what was going on down here," Hawk says. Golgius then disappears again.
"Well what'd you know, he ran away," Y/N says. A nay of a house fills the silence, startling Hawk.
"Why's a horse heading this way?" Hawk asks "All that racket from before must have spooked it. Horses are such scaredy cats"
"So that's where he went," Meliodas says as they look at the horse. Golgius then reappears on the horse.
"What a fright that was. My superiors gave me quite a mission to carry out"
"Looks like that horse is heading to Baste Prison"
"Which is where we need to be heading off before Ban stirs up some trouble," Y/N says.
"Alright, let's go!" Hawk shouts. Elizabeth then starts running away from Baste Prison.
"Hey, Elizabeth?!" Meliodas shouts after her.
"Baste Prison isn't that way, you know?!" Hawk shouts.
"She knows. But it's Elizabeth, where else would she be going" Y/N says.
They arrive back to where the doctor had been stabbed. Elizabeth kneels next to him while Meliodas, Hawk and Y/N stand beside her, staring down.
"Doctor! Dr Dana!" Elizabeth yells "Please, hold on. Why did this happen?" Elizabeth holds his head in her hands. Tears fall onto the doctor's face, and he stares up at Elizabeth in surprise.
"Why...why are you crying?" He asks "I'm truly sorry, I only did this because I wanted to save my daughter. Dear Sennet...I just wanted to keep you safe" Dr Dana then turns limp, tears down his cheeks. Y/N looks at him sadly, her head down.
"I guess death does follow me, huh" She mutters.
"This is all my fault," Elizabeth says.
"What are you talking about?" Meliodas asks "It was Golgius who killed him"
"If we hadn't come into this town in the first place, Dr Dana wouldn't be laying here dead and his daughter wouldn't have been taken by the holy knights, it wouldn't have happened"
"Yeah, but Elizabeth" Hawk says.
"Not to mention, it's my search for the Deadly Sins that brought me to Sir Meliodas and Lady Y/N. If not for that you two would have never fought Gilthunder and gotten seriously injured. Then you wouldn't have been in a position to be killed by Golgius" Elizabeth says, her voice cracking with tears threatening to fall.
"I know you wanna cry right now, we get that," Y/N says "It's just, we also know how much you wanna protect the people of this kingdom from the holy knights. Is it a tear or two all it gonna take to make you give up on that?"
"We made up our mind to search for the Eight Deadly Sins with you, and to stop the holy knights" Meliodas walks up to Elizabeth, leaning closer to her face "Even if you die somewhere along the way, we'll make sure to keep the promise we made to you"
"Y-You would do for me?" Elizabeth asks, looking at Meliodas and Y/N. Meliodas then stands up straight as he and Y/N begin zoning out, remembering.

A short red-haired girl leans against a pillar. Meliodas and Y/N stand in front of her while rubble is all around them
"We all die someday"
The girl had blood running out of her mouth and down her eye, a big hole in her chest
"But-"
Meliodas and Y/N are crying while rain slips down their hair
"-as long as someone keeps a person's wishes alive, they won't die. Once you've divided to follow that"
Meliodas places his hand on the dead girl's head, pulling her into a hug, tears running down his face.
"No matter how much you bleed, and even when your tears run dry, you stick to it"
Y/N then kneels beside Meliodas, and he uses his other hand to pull her into a hug, crying into her shoulder over the loss of their friend.
"That's what a knight stands for" Meliodas and Y/N say in unison. Elizabeth stares at them before turning her attention back to Dr Dana.
